I see it as a Cormorant style of fly rather than a Cormorant. The original was just black wing and peacock herl body but there are many variations now.
Lindsay, tied a few of these some weeks ago and handed most of them out to fellow anglers. Only difference is that mine had two slips of red flashabou instead of jungle cock. They have accounted for a lot of fish. Size 12 doing better than the ten.

Great stuff that’s the beauty of tying your own you can tweak the pattern to your needs.
