I think there's been quite a few people who can keep the emotional well in tact while performing this song. But I think it hits Kyuhyun a bit harder because he was close with him & he was deeply effected from the incident so he can convey it really well.
He defended his title with "Breathe", a song composed by Jonghyun and ended his 5th straight reign by singing "Hyeya" which is also Jonghyun's first solo/single performance. 😭😭😭

the fact that you can hear his technique of singing is like a musical. as expected our kyuhyun
His technique is literally perfect. It's amazing how he can still convey such emotions with impeccable technique. Very few singers who sit on the top could do this as most usually go one way or another. I watched the episode and I really think that the reason he lost was because the judges wanted to know his identity 😂

Kim Gura heard him sing regularly for 6 years due to Radio Star and , a guest judge said right off the bat that Genia was an idol with a long career, once a member of OMG slipped and called Genie “sunbae”. I suspect he was the one who asked to be pulled out, SJ’s comeback was just around the corner and he also had many individual schedules: salty tour, love at first song, his youtube channel, various solo appearances in concerts...
Kyuhyun isn't title as the best voice for no reason. He touched everyone. This stage especially bcs he dedicated his whole heart on this song for jjong.

I don’t know who Jonghyun is so I googled him. So sad. After learning about Jonghyun, I listened to this performance again, and tears just fell. Jonghyun heard your singing Kyuhyun, and you made him very happy for sure 🙏🏻💐 I wish there is a pill I could buy at Walmart to make me speak Korean right away. Kyuhyun’s singing is the reason why I want to learn more about K-pop.

In his 4th win
his last stage in KOMS has always been phenomenal, back then he sang Wild Flower after taking off the mask, and now he delivered such a wonderful tribute. haven't seen such a sorrowful performance in a while, damn i have goosebumps everytime i listen to this..
There is a few other singer that covers this song as well , but somehow , someway , Kyuhyun's version hits much harder , like a damn truck speeding 🥲
this performance just goes to show how much kyu has listened to this song. you can tell that he’s gone over it so many times by all the pauses and slight breaths he makes. you can tell he’s gone over it so many times just by the fact that he (at certain parts) sounds *just* like jonghyun did in his own version. you can tell he put his all into this. he wanted to make jonghyun proud and i’m positive he succeeded. this song obviously means something to him, and he recreated it so well. he absolutely mastered this.

It's not even surprising since it's Kyuhyun. Powerful voice. As for the emotions, it would have been more impactful if you saw his face expressions too. But that's the show and still, the message was there.

Gosh, just came from a video where all the comments were saying that the best vocals are from exo, btob, monsta x, and seventeen. I don't disagree that those groups have great vocalists but I wish more people recognized our boy's ability. KRY are some of, if not the best vocalists in kpop.

i'm tearing up again after watching this video. Been years since Jonghyun passed, but his soul and music still lives on today. I definitely know that Kyuhyun and Jonghyun were especially close, so for him to sing this song in dedication was truly amazing. It's such a hard song to sing without crying. So for him to sing this without crying is honorable, and you can tell he was able to stop himself from crying since you can hear the shaking in his voice but didn't crack.
This is kyuhyun after all. He nailed every song, he sing it with his heart

I was glad when Hyeya was performed in V-1 and now, here in KOMS. My heart is full of gratefulness to the people who performs Jjong's song. They make him remembered by many people. As fans, we will never be able to forget him but for some people, they might. We don't have the power to make K-netz remember him so I am very thankful to the artists that sing his songs. Because of them, he will be remembered again. Remembered as a person and as an artist. Remembered how he did so well when he was alive. Jjong would be so happy. I am just so grateful.
I did not understand the lyrics of the song as the English translation was unavailable. But I felt the emotion through Kyuhyun's voice. I got so much goosebumps. And then I found out the story why he chose the song. It made me cry even more. 🥺

you know i got into super junior a little late and even then i haven’t really gotten to know them really well so i am not familiar with the extent of their vocals but kyuhyun is giving me CHILLS throughout this whole song. his voice is so soothing and i could listen to this all day
