It is Simone's consistency in AA competitions is what makes her untouchable. Another reason why she has not been beaten yet and most likely will not is because of her STATURE she has room to upgrade any number of dismounts on bars and floor in particular while also attempting the most difficult of vaults. So that while some of her competitors can upgrade to a certain point, Simone seemingly has way more potential to do so and has the ability to master the upgrade too.

I love watching the gymnastics. Next favorite is the winter skiing. No matter who wins, I pray that these athletes remain safe. I can deal with a fall but the injuries break my heart. So much goes into this, not just the physical and mental components. The psychological and emotional stamina required is huge. We are human and we want to win, but I do wish we could take some of the "competition " out of the competitions. Yes, I'm a dreamer. As much as I dislike wolf turns myself, I can't help watching those over and over in this routine. It is truly amazing to see this done at such a speed and so precise, as Olly said in his commentating, there was NO OSCILLATION over the horizontal axis (beam) while she was going at such a speed. She was sooooo relaxed here! Amazing, OWENSome, and unBILEvable! Btw, *zumphuni, zun, zumphuni* (whatever that is) I am with you. LOL!
I'm not a gymnast, nor do I know much about this sport. But I can never watch this video without breaking out in tears. What an incredible, incredible performance. She's doing things I thought were humanly impossible, CONSECUTIVELY. What a legend. I love how happy her coach is with her, too! ❤

Rebeca actually was grinning at Cecile's reaction to Simone dismount. Look at it again and you will see. Having said that, Rebeca and her coach could be seen applauding and smiling during the routine as well.
The amateur video recording makes it look more nerve-racking and intimidating than the professional TV recording for some reason lol. Maybe because I can see the audience's faces more. I wonder how the gymnasts stay focused with so much going on around them.

I just realized that at the medal ceremony. They got a medal, some flowers, and a stuffed green animal with a pink bow on its ear. Is that really what a 20 year old woman deserves after being the best in the world in at something.
