These Shunyata XLRs made the multilayered instrument location more cohesive, and added to the perceived soundfield depth. Very nice indeed. Thanks Jay.
Again more presence, speed, and leading edge dynamics, all things that silver wire gives us. All of these new Shunyata cable have silver in them. I personally feel that they went to this metal to offset some of the soft sound that stranded all copper cables have. I have heard this when auditioning the classic Shunyata designs. Systems with aggressive speakers and electronics need this to balance the whole system out. Now that these new models have both copper and silver conductors in them will this be the best of both worlds, or will the upper midrange - lower treble fatigue eventually show up after living with these cables? Time will tell. Thanks you Jay for letting all of us hear these new cables!
Comparing the 3 Shunyata presentations, this was the most apparent sonic upgrade so far: More impactful bass, hearing farther into the soundstage, both forward and rearward. The reverb sounded more natural. Soundstage seemed blacker/darker with better trailing decay.
This video reflects what I experienced with these interconnects in my more humble system, super transparent, fast, extremely low noise, and illuminating of the soundstage. What I also hear is a bit of a midrange scoop, which I hope will be changed when they release the Omega interconnects. I haven't messed around with TA Opus, but these did punch way higher than the Gen 5 Reference I had, and more to my liking in terms of signature.
Cleaner with version two with a little less ambiance. You mentioned having the Transparent cables calibrated. I have done this a couple of times, and need to on another interconnect. That is a big deal! The results from calibration are amazing.
I am really suprised what this XLR interconnect have done. I did not expect this huge difference. Deeper soundstage, "brightness" of not yet-burned in PCs has gone. Easy listening. Can't wait to hear your new loudspeaker cables, Jay. End game Shunyata LS vs Transparent Audio LS? Jay, did you expect this changes so far?
I use a Sigma Analog power cord in my system and was considering the option of buying an interconnect cable as well. However, I'm not sure it only brings improvements according the demo provided. Yes, a number of formal sound parameters are improved, but the tonal balance seems slightly shifted upward and the sound seems somewhat less free. Anyway, thanks a lot for the demo, this is the best way to make unbiased review. P.S. Although in some places it certainly sounds very impressive. The energy and depth of the scene is simply amazing.
Not even close… more of the same kind of improvements from Shunyata PCs, now with the XLR’s. Blacker quiet background, with even less hash. Music is more pure sounding, with a more accurate and natural sounding pitch and timbre. The attack and high volume swings are cleaner and less spurious sounding. You can hear more going on, more clearly, and the fade-outs and decay are longer and more dimensional sounding. Thank you, well done. I think I’ll need to order some Shunyata Sigma V2 XLR interconnects now.
Hope you will make a video reflecting on your experiences with Shunyata after you have installed and broken in the whole cable loom throughout your system.
What I seemed to notice is more clarity and precise detail with the Shunyata added. Jay, why do you think you don’t have more subscribers. So many of the far less interesting audiophile channels have a lot more subscribers.
Once again the difference is significant. Best way I can describe it is #2 is darker. Some may see this as 'veiled' or having less detail but I see it as more ethereal and romantic which is in line with the feel of the song itself. Also the soundstage width was much wider with #2. #1 has more impact, particularly in the higher frequencies but by comparison it comes across as too much information and less enjoyable relative to the dark spaciousness of #2. I agree with the commenter who said it made the MSB sound more like the DCS. Having listened closely to your MSB-DCS shootout I had come down solidly on the side of DCS as I felt it offered a more musical and romantic presentation vs the ultimate resolving power of the MSB. These XLRs have gone a long way to taming the beast, some may prefer this and some not. I'm looking forward to the last piece of the puzzle being added in the next video. If anyone wants to hear how far we've come, listen to presentation #1 of the previous video and compare it to #2 here. Mind blowing what cables can do!
Yes Jay . This videos is for guy he post to youtube as cable not make difference , is only placebo , etc .. He have ears from worms ( none ) and her audio system need go to trash ( thru window ) .. In ultra high end , cables need have value close to value of audio components . Of course , matching is another story . All the Best !
The second presentation may have more detail and space around instruments but it is a little too bright for my personal liking. Maybe needs to be burnt in more.
I listened VIA my Focal Stellia today. Both recordings are excellent. If I could get a FLAC file from Jay, I would replace the original in my playlist. The air, speed and dynamics presented in #2 were more evident. I also felt the sound stage was a bit deeper. When I compare this UA-cam recording with the original (through the headphones) I feel I do get more separation, I am able to place the instruments on the stage better. But the AIR is incredible. I'd love to hear this setup in person some day (maybe not - I'd want to sell my house)
Jay would suggest not telling us which cables are being used.. Makes feedback far more useful, informing audience which cables are used biases comparison. Both cables had aspects I like.. Second set feels far more in your face, especially on transient attack of notes.. seem to push sound stage forward. I'm feeling fatigued from one track on the second recording.. First set was smoother, easier to listen to and was more balanced overall, it also seemed to be quieter.
The added "air" by Shunyata allows more musical information available to hear! Really impressed. Did someone say "3D"?..........
These Shunyata XLRs made the multilayered instrument location more cohesive, and added to the perceived soundfield depth. Very nice indeed. Thanks Jay.
Beyond smooth, beyond velvety plush, the Finest most Seductive presentation I have heard come out of Jay's Audio Lab yet!
💪🎧🔊👍

This isn’t accurate. All of Shunyata’s analog signal cables use ohno copper.
Sounds more natural and more musical.

Took mine about 50 hours to start sounding good , not as long as the speaker cables they took the longest 100 hours . Great video 👍

Agreed

Now your Source DAC the MSB sound musical like the dCS with external Clock! :-))

Because I have the ultra high end...the rest have average components that can be afforded by the masses

Okay, this wasn’t _even_ close; the Shunyata Sigma XLR are clearly superior for any and all audio attributes one would care to discuss.
#2 better control, more dynamic and sounds very transparent. Best rendering of this song to date.
The uplift in every part of playback is excellent. Wait until they are fully broken in 😃
Sir, you know good music.
Hi Jay,
Terrific music presented here.
Did/ do you have a playlist showing?
Soon !
What XLR cable is this being compared to?
I may have missed it, but what power cable are you using on the VAC preamp?
Stock for now

It's dead quiet sounding many even a little dark but hey!!that's a good thing. 👍
Run kimber carbon XLR, keeps wires together ❤ About the same IMO

No 2. Way more timber to notes.

yeah, it's hifi + audiophile + musicality = real hi
afraid adding/changing accessories will upset this balance
anyway, keep it coming....
For me the same difference as last time, but more pronounced. Better instrument seperation, more realistic soundstage..
More music 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
Swept out some MISTY and sharpened presentation with no. 2.
Did you just smoked a blunt before making this video hehe 😜😜🤣
Actually recorded it late at night. I've never smoked weed in my life. I've used CBD oil for my back pain but that's about it.
@@jaysaudiolab ahhh ok. :) I do smoke weed. But it's from my doctor's :)
The new interconnects ruined the presentation. I couldn't finish listening to it. But I guess that is because they are not broken in yet.
Yep
