I've seen a few people react to this and a couple immediately said "They thought he was a cop!" as soon as he mentioned the guys on the corner being surprised to see him. If you think about it, 4am, Harlem? Yeah, they're probably right.
Oh you're an expert of being white and Harlem at 4 AM? Think about it? I'm sorry but you're just gonna have to take those people's words for it because most likely you have nothing to think about it and thinking about it like that is kind of f***** u*... You can't just imagine things in the call it science but like you can't think about something you know nothing about... Take people's word for it if you don't know but don't think that makes you know... Because even though I'm when I think about the story I know why I would think hes a cop I'm not projecting on anyone else
I’m a pale white woman and Bill Burr has taught me that if I’m ever concerned about a man’s demeanor or behavior, no matter the skin color, always look down to see if they’re wearing dirty crusty black AF-1 shoes 😂😂
Congratulations my man, you are the first reactor to watch this video that caught the joke about gangster rap videos and the LA riots being “horrible PR” 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
I went to a Guinness festival at Randall's Island off 125th Street in Harlem one time and I remember 10,000 drunk Irish people walking through Harlem getting back on the subway it reminds me of what Bill Burr is talking about.
I am coming to love your channel, sir. You are so articulate, and how you manage to avoid rolling on the ground laughing.... you are an epitome of self-control.
Your reaction is my favorite to this is absolutely my favorite!!!! There are many reasons that you stand out above those who just think everything is "dude, it's so true!" The "rims?" comment at the end was perfect example. As was the " no. I never feel like that." Was perfect.
Bill Burr born June 10th, 1968 Burr married actress Nia Renee Hill in 2013. Their daughter was born on January 20, 2017. Their son was born in June 2020. They reside in Los Angeles. Hill sometimes appears as a guest on his podcast. Burr is a licensed helicopter pilot. In his spare time, he plays drums. He enjoys heavy metal music and is a fan of Metallica, AC/DC, Led Zeppelin, Pantera, Ministry, Slayer, Iron Maiden, and Meshuggah. He cited drummers John Bonham and Dave Lombardo as inspirations for taking up drumming and enjoys smoking cigars.
Bodegas were started by Puerto Ricans in the 70's. They were meant to carry items familiar to PR not found at regular grocery stores. In the 80's during the rampant drug problem they were being used as fronts for drug transactions and money laundering, so everything on the shelves were old and out of date. They eventually became convenient stores after the "war on drugs" forced owners to sell and get out of dodge....
Not entirely true. There were some 'fake' Bodegas that were fronts for illegal gambling in the back area and probably drugs(never seen that). They were pretty obvious because they had only a few shelves and 1 refrigerator, both with sparse amount of products, plenty of bare wall & floor space. I remember going into only 1 in 15 years, saw the window in the back with people giving money for the gambling. Never went back, they had little stuff to buy, so pointless. All the Bodegas I normally shopped in, and ones I happened to be walking by, out of my home area, were FULL front to back, top to bottom and behind the counter with FOOD & products, no window in the back, just FILLED UP SHELVES, along with refrigerators and a freezer for ice cream. So 98% of Bodegas were legitimate convenient stores(=Bodega) not Drug/gambling dens. The MSM must of made that hyped up. I will say maybe it was a bigger problem in certain areas of certain Burroughs. Not in my stomping grounds.
Heyyyyy! I was one of the suggestions for this one. Thanks Mannnn. I knew you'd laugh your ass off. Really like the channel but specifically you and how ya hold yourself. Definitely yourself on camera and thats not always easy to find! Dont ever change sir 👉👍
I'm white, Raised in a very diverse (mostly black and latino) i was one of the few white kids and all my friends liked shoes, houses, and cars so I dress with soldier 12s and air forces, it makes me laugh because anytime I leave to go out of town I get made fun of for acting black but this is just how I was raised.
What gets me is Bodega is basically a corner store, ya go there for smokes, a beer and some crap jerky, ya ain't there for much and the korean lady or Iranian dude runnin the place is usually pretty chill and barely ever takes a day off work. Best person ever to see hard work in action
this shit is hilarious cos it's basically how he met his wife! also, yes on bodegas! spent my life going to them and was confused by literally everyone else who didn't know what they were. Mine were all Jordanian in BK.
I am glad you had some chuckles watching this. LOL - Show up in my house for a date and not be Asian... And dad is cleaning his gun on the coffee table... I thought it was hilarious, it is so easy to take yourself way too seriously.
I am new to your channel and I enjoy your reactions. You are definitely a confident and educated individual. For some explanations are not needed but you have a variety of watchers, so cool. Do you do Sci fi or fantasy cinematics?
Had a lot of really good food from bodegas in the city... Also saw crack for the first time when my buddy ordered with extra mustard which apparently was the code word and things got real awkward after that 😅🤣
You have to understand when Billl did that set. it was quite a few years ago, and unfortunately, our country has changed a lot. I grew up in Stockton, CA. It's not exactly a nice place. Blacks, Mexicans. Asian, Indian. I grew up with everyone, and everyone was cool for the most part, but there were places you didn't want to go late at night and it didn't matter what color you were. Love your pod cast.
In Spain, a bodega is where you make, store and/or drink wine (of course you'll also eat something with it) - the origin is also private owned. Some older houses would have that as basement, for example - cool place to store. (These days, with modernity kicking in, it may be like a wine-bar, which is what I think is the american take on it).
Just discovered your channel, and it's really good. Looks like plenty of cool content to binge this weekend. Very chill vibe, and that's just my speed Bill Burr is a one of a kind comic. Plenty of top tier edgy comics - but Bill is very much an original. He's up there with Chapelle and Louis CK Cheers!!
Yay! The perfect antidote to the last 8 hours trying to cram all the information on every Homo species into my brain without it pouring out of my ear immediately. 🖤
My understanding of what a bodega is: similar to what my next-door neighbors in the Philippines do: The front of their house is a tiny convenience store that sells cigarettes, booze, snacks, Tylenol, and/or candy. It's too small for customers, so you do your business through a window.
A 10 day period?!?!? If I have a shirt I like, I’ll wear it Monday, wash it, and wear it again Thursday or Friday 😂 Side note: I have no idea what a bodega is 😂
A corner store found in ethnic neighborhoods, owned by ethnic dudes. They also sell street food found in their country, some that you can’t even buy at an actual restaurant here.
Screw that noise, wear it on monday, air it on tuesday and wednesday, then wear it again; rinse and repeat for every shirt :D. Maybe do a washmachine every 3 weeks-ish, once you're about to run out of underwear :P
Bill can take a sensitive issue and make you laugh about it. Many people are overly sensitive these days in my opinion. People seem angry. Many are filled with hate and rage. I just don't get it. Life is too short to live it like that and it is damaging to oneself to hold grudges and hold onto anger. Let the driver that cut you off or flipped you off go on about their merry way. Don't engage them, no birds, no eye contact if possible. Maybe they are angry so just play it safe, or maybe they didn't see you, or maybe they have an emergency and are in a rush to get to a Hospital, etc. Regardless of why it happened, just let it go. You can chose to chase him down or flip him off, etc.. but why ? Why let them ruin your day or even a minute of it ? You can act or react. If you react to them in a bad way you are allowing them to decide how ur day is going.. You can get angry at them and carry it with you for hours, or ignore them and continue the day you were having b4 the encounter. Doing this may even save ones life bc road rage is very real. Lets all spread love, not hate. Lets all come together to make this world a better place.
This dude say make sure you get it the Okky way, Im dead lmao,, ayo if you see this bruh, if you get the chance you should react to lou ratchett, dude is pretty funny
I mean a Bodega is usually, but not always Hispanic owned as it is a Spanish term. Otherwise I largely concur that you won't find some of those foods, at least in the north east. Here in San Antonio and over in southern Florida you will find plenty of them.
My man, Bodegas don't exist outside of the tri-state area. In terms of the name at least. (I'm from Long Island) To those who don't know it's just a Latin or Caribbean owned shitty corny store but sometimes they also make home cooked food that is amazing.

He just takes an experience from his life and finds a way to make fun of that people can connect to and laugh at to have a good time. One of the BIGGEST problems for comedians today, is way too many people watch them thinking everthing they are saying is exactly how they feel and that they're less doing a show and more having a presentation, speech rally, amalgamation.

I keep trying to find out who that is, but Google will only give me the bassist for U2.
@@elbruces His full name, Adam Clayton Powell Jr, might help :)

He has. A few months ago. Definitely try to find it. Very funny.
He has, it's on the channel
I think this is from a while back. Bill is one of those people who actually matures over time.

I didn't know what a bodega was until I watched this skit for the first time and googled it. I'm so sheltered down here in the south. LOL

A bodega in Denmark is basically a pub so I'm confused over the fact that it's a convenience store in USA 💀✨️
It’s so interesting.. In Denmark (Northen Europe?) a Bodega is a bar. Typically an older outdated bar with worn out interior from the 70s.
My understanding of what a bodega is: similar to what my next-door neighbors in the Philippines do: The front of their house is a tiny convenience store that sells cigarettes, booze, snacks, Tylenol, and/or candy. It's too small for customers, so you do your business through a window.
I recommend Chain Restaurants, Old Man Face or anything from the Paper Tiger special.
Thank you, sir.
The Ocky Way is the best way!
You have a very interesting accent. WOW. You are recording for some movies or games? Great diction if I may say.
The way you describe a bodega makes me sad that I've never been to one.

Still voting for helicopter story. Animated or not, just make sure you get the whole story.
Please not the animated version.
Oh I learn something new, because in my country a bodega is a place to store wine
You MUST check out his "Philadelphia" show. ( probably on your own time.) Absolutely brutal. Absolutely hilarious.

I want to go to a Bodega just so I can taste an authentic NY chopped cheese 🧀 😩
I’ve never heard of a Bodega before.
Bodega is usually latino and family run with the best homade food
This routine takes me out every time 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 It's an old routine so the references are outdated
My entire knowledge of Bodegas boils down to "Get a chopped cheese".
Standing on Malcom X and Danny Glover........ ha🤣
Have to admit, before this video, I never heard of a bodega.
Is this a reupload? I thought he did this already.
