I run the protac rail mount light that uses 1 cr123. Got my first one about 6 years ago. I have them on all my long guns except one, that one has a surefire scout I received as a gift. No complaints after thousands of rounds thru various rifles and calibers, even have one on my 870. I go with what I know, but I always like seeing new things 👍
Same experience here. I’ve tried many lights and the rail mount 1 is by far my favorite. Small, light, plenty bright for most situations. Love that it can take a AA battery in a pinch. Probably the only light I’ve ever bought that I’ve been absolutely 100% satisfied with.
@@Baptizebyfire-n9vall Streamlights do that with the non-rechargeable batteries. It does that because the batteries lose contact when firing. Can be fixed with a $0.02 oring in front of the battery.
3:50 I get that. The only reason I still attached it to the pic mount was with the included mlok I wouldn't have been able to access my Back up magpul flip up sights so the pic. Mount option still allows me to use it if I need to.
Just purchased the olight laser light combo. The laser is surprisingly bright. Olight has spoiled me over the years no more replaceable battery platforms for me personally.
Got the unit out to range, could be seen, in day light, and snow cover, at 25yards. Can’t say that for some others. Only slight fault is the laser adjustment isn’t as tight as is could be, hope the looseness don’t cause loosing zero
id really like to see one of these with a dedicated button for both the light and laser. the rotary switch is kinda pointless in theory, why not just have dual constant on off, maybe the one for the light is more friendly to momentary presses.
I would like to apologize for my rant about Arken Optics. I know you're very busy and probably don't have time to check customer service on all the products you review. If you ever have time. I would like to show you some of the emails I received from Arken Optics. Sincerely Eddy Thanks for everything you do. Tac knives, Callaway ballistics, target sports all have amazing service.
What's the deal with "these are on sale at..." bla bla bla? What? Are they on sale for like 20 minutes after you post the video, and then gone? 'Cuz 3 hours after posting today (Jan 17), I click the proffered Amazon link and they're $90. NOT "on sale" at all. And yeah, the 10% off code is still valid. Kudos. But I bothered with this at all because of the $75 and "under $70" mentioned. Nope. Not even. ...bummer because I've clicked these "deals" before (sometimes much less than an hour or less when streamed), and not yet, not once, have I seen the Amazon "on sale" price mentioned. Whazzup with that!? Clickbait much? IMHO there's some real credibility being sacrificed by not mentioning in the video that "only the first 30 persons" or "this will only last for the next 10 minutes" [/whatever] by the channel. "Fool me once" yada yada. Please explain... and in exceedingly simple terms that even a podunk like me understands. Or just quit talking about any ephemeral "Amazon sale price" if your suppliers are that inconsistent (or shady) with their Amazon sale price policies. Please. Don't support those kinds of shady practices (for a few extra clicks).
Ah. $75 after all. My bad. ...well, IF you're a PRIME member. Naw. No thanks. Maybe you mentioned Prime members only? - I'll pay closer attention going forward.
@@m.m4982 1. No. and, 2. Not everyone lol. I was an original Prime member (my Amazon account itself dates back to '98/99 or so... and heck, my eBay account dates back to the mid-90's, only a couple of months after eBay was still in a garage). Yeah, almost 20 years ago? Mostly for the movies originally btw; didn't use it enough then - or now - for the shipping freebies (though I certainly exercised free shipping savings in the beginning). Original "cord cutter" here, way before it became fashionable, and - actually - way before the term was invented even (well, back then I'd never heard it... I was still getting Netflix DVD's once a month lol). I still have my original Roku (shelved long ago, obviously) lol. When Prime membership costs went to stupid (which, again, was way before the current cost... which seem to be $139 and higher), and Prime benefits decreased (you could originally order a $5 - or less - item, and the shipping was free), I... demurred. ... said way back then I was done with Prime... and I've stuck with that. Figure that's saved me a $1000 (and probably much, much more given my tendency to impulse buys decreased) over the years. Why should I? To contribute to Amazon's bottom line for what what I regard as questionable cost-analysis benefits? Thank you... but no. Hard pass. So... entirely respectfully... "everyone" certainly isn't a Prime member. As for my comment a couple of months ago, I hadn't noticed it was a Prime Only deal - I hadn't really paid attention to whether stuff was often Prime Only deals on the channel at all - until a few hours later. I've since "noticed", and so haven't bothered. Or I've at least paid closer attention. Thanks for noticing!

Great info!
Which Monstrom mount did you use and how did you attach it to it?
I just bought the Streamlight HL-X from Primary Arms for $99 with Switch. I would buy it again for sure really liking it so far.
Yeah I plan on getting this for my PSA. Once I do a higher end ar I will do a cloud defensive or arisaka.
One of my favorite weapon lights. Heck of a deal!
I have that in my cart but I looked at the review and the light kept going off everytime he shoots and Its huge compared with others.

Thats a good point
You never mentioned ability to zero the dot in
Just wanted to ask how the light is holding up for yourself? Mine is still holding zero and is still running just fine 🙂
Hello. Do you have an updated discount code? I love this combo. Thanks for sharing??
Glad you did a review on the light , I got one a while back and liked it so much I picked up 2 more.
Will the laser hold zero ?
Any idea how to charge/recharge the alkaline batteries this light comes with? Do you need to buy a charger? Do they cell those? Kind of important...
You can't recharge alkaline batteries....
Bruh, buy new ones... You also use lithium for stuff like this

Jsut buy a sure fire
Would you compare this to the Olight Oden?

Did it lose zero
Just got this unit today, used your code, thanks. So far nice unit, looks fairly sturdy. Can’t wait to get some range time with it Tuesday . Thanks.

It looks like a combination of Olight light and streamlight pressure pad.
Its currently on amazon - with prime for $69
I think I want to test this piece of gear out! I have all pic rails so that how I’ll mount it!
Questions to answer:
Did it hold zero?
Is it Dual Fuel - runs on 2 cr123 or 1 18650?
Is the laser adjustable for zeroing?
Thanks
Just buy a stream light, that’s the cheapest I would go personally
I just got the hlx and it came with a scout mount like the one in this video. It really is a good deal for a well known and proven brand
i want a good laser+light combo what would you recommend? @@jeffbezos1453
Would this work w an arisaka mlok mount?
I just orfered one. Which Monstrum Scout Mount did you use? There's several that look similar so I want to make sure I get the right one.
Same question
If the can move the switch to toggle settings to the rear or to the toggle switch system boyyyy
Thanks for sharing
Imma Olight Odin guy, but ill check these out
You should test the sms laser
Good call, unfortunately the price is higher than you mentioned..
Did you ise the discount code?
You're both saving and costing me money far too often!
costing because you'll be replacing this garbage with a better light in the future
👍 thanks again!! :)

I'm just trying to help others. Are you a representative for Arken Optics?
It's was higher than $70, I ordered it for $90
Came to $80 with the discount code
Two months late, but thank you!
Feels good to out a $70 light on a $2k rifle lol
sorry, to spoiled on rechargeable batteries. Now if it came with a USB-C chargeable battery, it would be great.
Junk!
Already 90 again..
76 now
EZShoot also makes some pretty nice bikini bottoms that don't bunch up on the range.
Do you have the model number?
this seems....shilly. this light seems less good then many value options like Olight or even the Monstrum stuff...at the same price.
