I've always considered the demon to be a manifestation of black/generational trauma. Each time the characters were subjected to some form of social degradation or marginalization, the demon seemed to get stronger/more aggressive (usually coinciding with their ethical resolve and sense of identity starting to unravel). Moreover, I think the demon takes on the form of the trauma that the character is battling the most. In season one the father felt like he was "tap dancing" for his white bosses and colleagues. Therefore the demon appeared to him as a simpering and stereotypical figure to better mock his feelings of inadequacy and shame. In season two, it seems as though the demon took the form of Raggedy Andy not so much to mock, but moreso to entice. It fed off Edmund's loneliness and isolation and offered him a form that symbolized an unyielding bond. Because Dawn already had established familial connections (particularly motherhood) prior to this, the demon was less effective in it's enticement. I also feel as though the "tap dancing man" appeared to Dawn due to her decision to embrace the role of "LAPD" when Edmund arrived at her house to connect, rather than her role as a fellow black person/supportive community. Now the self-deprecation and guilt are manifesting as the "tap dancing" demon. All of this in theory, of course lol.

Agreed. Season 2 was scary but for me more in a psychological way. Maybe scary isn’t the right word, but it made me on edge and jumpy the more I watched.
I think it did a really good job depicting the trauma black boys experience, while season one really focused on trauma experienced by black women/girls. Being unable to scream, being criminalized, type casted. Dawn and Edmond exhibited the same behavior as 3 years old. Dawns mom spoke of tantrums, blamed Edmond for being unable to open a childproof medicine. Then he was later abandoned for the safety of his white sister because he went through puberty. Then he went throughout the community literally “breaking” people/leaving them broken.
I’m glad someone pointed this out I feel like his character was very heartbreaking because it seems like he was a failed child that grew up to be a bigger failed child.
Agreed. It also shows how tough it is for kids who aren’t “black” enough to be accepted by their own, but aren’t accepted by others because they’re still black and respected even less than a gangbanger because media says thugs are the symbol of black masculinity. Even the son is ashamed of having a mom as a cop because in the black community it can be considered being a sell out.
I get that but the trauma they already get from been black the demon gave them more trauma and distress for coming into there lives and break every bone in there body I think thats more than trauma to me
He was also failed because of the lack of resources in place at the time. Single blk mom 👩🏽 not knowing what else to do for him. Transracial adoption is challenging. Not to make excuses and play devil's advocate, but during that time it just wasn't heard of or thought of to provide therapy. I think little marvin was trying to show that they did what they believed was their best at the time. A lot of victims here. Not to diagnose, but Edmund could have been dealing with borderline personality disorder and possibly dissociative identity disorder. Maybe the haunting and seeming possession represents that.
That and hulk Hogan scene was funny. But no joke. But I could see him as a killer in a movie wearing that same outfit that he wore for the audition he looked like a real killer
@@desiree1812wowww you’re so right about that! His biological grandmother got taken over by the demon in front of the whole school just like him. Even when he was in class!
I guessed that Edmund was the demon by episode 2 and we were watching how he slowly became insane. A theme throughout his story was rejection. He was rejected by his birth mother, both of his adoptive families, his foster mom, his sister, and the people at the casting agency. All of that rejection culminated him in becoming The Scare.
Broo, I thought Edmund was just going to be accused of being the killer because of how he was starting to act, but it took me until he snapped Donovan's leg to realize that every scene with him was in the past
@@kyvesmith6362 I could see that. What made me realize that he was the killer and that his story took place in the past is that I couldn’t figure out how he fit into Dawn’s story. So I just figured that we must have been watching the origins of the killer.
Edmund was such a layered character, anyone remember the Atlanta murderer Wayne Williams ? The glasses, the unsuspecting aura, “black men don’t get cast a serial killers” knowing they used Wayne William to help profile black serial killers.
Luke James performance as Edmund was one of the most mesmerizing psychotic performances I've ever watched the whole season was good I just didn't like the ending but that's why I'm here thank you for the breakdown wonderful show but a lot of plot holes that didn't get answered
I believe Kel OCD (needing to have everything in 3) resembled him longing for his family to be together. At the end she asked him to set the table, specifically for 3, because his dad was coming over.
i think Edmunds character was so lost on who he was. The white family that adopted him, he wanted to be accepted by. not sure how long they had him but i think a lot of it showed him basically wanting to be white. It was mentioned when he tried to get the role of the serial killer that there isnt any black serial killers in movies. The grandmother/mother said she didnt want them having the dolls because they were based in racism but Edmund wouldnt accept the black dolls. He seemed to struggle with what Ruby his biological mom went through.
I said the same thing. I think this is also why his victims were all minorities. His sister became a cop bc she wanted to STOP racial injustice. He knew how to catch her attention because he went for victims he knew the LAPD white cops wouldn’t care to get Justice for, but DAWN would.
He targeted the drug dealer because, just like his foster mother he was doing things he wasn’t supposed to while children were around and was trying to hide it. The little Mexican boy represented his sister Dawn because their parents chose to keep him and send his brother home because he was ‘difficult’ and causing trouble, like Edmund. And the Korean twins represented how inseparable and close they were, like Dawn & Edmund. As for the covering windows and mirrors I took it as Edmund (before giving himself to the demon) being obsessed with his reflection. He was always looking at himself in the mirror and making video tapes of his auditions and video logs about his life. And that’s how the demon sometimes communicated with his victims, through TV screens and reflections. Questioning, do you see your true self? I agree with your point about Pam Grier, they did her dirty 😂
I took the covering windows with foil as victims applying their own methods, especially after the exorcism. Before that, I wondered how victims knew to protect themselves in such an unusual way
@@MovieFiles I feel like the reasoning provided in the show for targeting the victims, aside from being, themselves, little plot devices to move the story forward, were murky at best, not morally focused, but, the killings were mainly meant to either be vengeful or to convey Edmond's past to the sister; like you said they never fully explained the lore and rules for the demon (like showing up in the mirror and how it spread -- at first i thought it spread based on people watching copies of black market or sent video tapes that Edmond made, that would have made sense) but they definitely made it a point in the show to mention that the drug dealer was killed in front of his son as a message to the sister to tell Edmond's story, specifically how their adopted Dad died in front of him when he was a child. She mentions that the baby was taped to the high chair and forced to watch the drug dealer dad die. The idea is also revisited during her mother's death scene and further expounded upon when he makes her understand that he felt helpless in that moment when her husband was having the heart attack in front of him and he couldn't open the bottle for his heart medication, it wasn't his fault. Edit: Still enjoyed the show though, just wasn't as scary or traumatizing I guess as season 1. The gorgeous Deborah Ayorinde and Luke James killed it! 😉
The box her mother kept hidden tied into her buying locked in a box as a chidl but also it reminds me of the box Lucky kept hidden with Baby Emory's bones in it in season 1 #littleblackbox
So I don’t think Edmund waited 2 years to come after Dawn. I think he was the Southside Slayer but she got taken off the case so he decided to make it more direct
Lord this show exceeded my expectations! Enjoyed season 1 and season 2 didn’t disappoint! Amazing how they tied the two seasons together when you thought they had nuthin in common
Out of all the reviews I’ve seen no one ever acknowledges when Dawn went to visit the Asian family, the Brother says there are 2 killers. Which I think was Really the red head cop and(in real life) used the Grim sleeper as a back drop as well. With all the attention on the Rodney king case and gang violence. The Grim reaper(serial killer) went unnoticed for years, until one lady escaped(like the lady in the car with Edmond)
I think the victim covered the mirror because their face looked scary. I assume this because when the son looked at the TV screen, he didn’t recognize himself.
If you pay close attention a lot of this series deals with boxes. In the first season the box was where the mom held her deceased baby, and in the final episode where the sister is in the bathroom facing her demon it’s said “you held your deceased brother in a box” fast forward to the second season the step mom has a box given to her by the daughter in the first season with a picture of her twin brother.
Listen, LUKE JAMES!! That was some acting right there boy! That man really had me spooked but feeling sad for him at the same time. Like that kid that you wanna give a hug and share your lunch with but you REFUSE to be alone with cause you just have a weird feeling for no reason. Bravo Luke!
My reaction too! It’s in ways symbolic and freaky as hell to know that there was still demons that haunt the Emory bloodline. Including Dawn for now we know that she and Edmund were Ruby Emory’s children. But makes me wonder that if there is gonna be a season 3 of Them, what’s the next story and gonna happen next….
Edmund's auditions/audition tapes being comically bad was the point. He had a passion for acting that he couldn't fulfill because he was poor at it. Except, for the time he embodied a serial killer/move monster. Which I guess was influenced by the evil spirirts or whatever. I kinda wish this season was more of character study around the Edmund character, b/c Luke James was really good in this role. Lot of similarities to Joaquin Phoenix's role in "Joker".
such a good season! Luke James did so well like his range is crazyyyy. the ending of ep.8 threw me for a loop! what ya gon do man came back so creepy 😩
If this is about generational curses/ trauma then it makes sense that Edmund had the mental break bc the grandfather (father in season 1) did … the grandmother (mother in season 1) fought. Hard.
I actually found this season to be scarier than the first season. I also took it personal because my mother fostered children for years. Luke did a great job in this.
Each episode brought on a sense of anxiety and stress which is what the characters where feeling throughout the movie. I felt like it did a good job of not going deep but giving just enough, I actually felt a huge amount of empathy for Luke James character as he felt so alone and lost it made him awkward and trauma does so much to you even effect your personality and it showed that in the show.
He killed the Benito to represent the forced separation from a sibling when benito said “i just want my brother” it was a symbol for ed wanting dawn but always being unable to have his sister back, at least to me that’s what i got from it. I was wondering abt the piece of candy tho lol idk what that was.
Hey nice video but I noticed you got something wrong around 13:40. I just wanted to comment that the reason he killed the drug dealer is because he made the baby watch just like he watched the father die while he was holding the medicine bottle and he killed the Mexican boy because they had the same story as him where the boys parents gave away his twin and kept him. All of the killings were telling their whole life story in order.
I hope Little Marvin gives us another season. He is obviously a master of horror. I loved the detective aspect in this season. Edmund was an A-tier villain. 9.5/10 season. Would have been 10 if it was just a little more clear during the first watch why The Scare went after the Mexican boy.
I feel like the death of the drug dealer was to remind Reeves When her father died somebody else was there. The day her dad died he was alone with his son, Edmond. like the way the drug dealer was home alone with his son. i guess
I really like this theory! I think you're correct in perceiving the killings as more of a personal message to Dawn. The victims of each slaying and their familial circumstances were there to help recover repressed memories of Edmund and their childhood. Mrs. Mott's murder was pretty direct since she was their abusive foster mother for a time. I think the intention was that the cramped closet and space under the sink would jog her memory of having a twin. The killings that followed suggest the same. A young Edmond sits helpess while his father dies (the drug dealer and his child), one good twin and one "bad" twin who is essentially discarded (Edmund's experience with Dawn's mother). And also a pair of twin sisters who are just as inseparable in death as they were in life (Edmund's longing and possessive view of his sibling relationship with Dawn.) Their killing could also have serve as a heavy handed reminder that she herself is a twin.
Also: The drug dealer was cooking crack with the baby's bottles and formula, using the child as a front to do illegal activities. Much like how Bernice Mott was using children to scam the system.
This kept me on my toes and gave me anxiety. I kept saying “this is too much” lol cause it was! Had me glued to my bed. I watched all episodes in one sitting. Couldn’t get enough!
Season 1 was more heavy and tragic but this season was definitely more scary! I liked it all! I do understand how the writing was a little choppy. I remember the mother tried given dawn a letter from her real mom and she never read and the show never let us know what it said..
I enjoyed this season but I do agree there was some plot holes and unanswered questions by the end! As far as killing the drug dealer he was using his child to hide his activities like the foster mother was and the Mexican boy was separated from his brother like she was! All the killings was clues sending the sister a message!
What if Edmund's spirit is connected to the baby son who died in season 1 immigration & will be revealed in Season 3. Nigeria has the highest rate of twins and they believe a twin comes back as an ancestor. Funny how it's 20 years later and flashes back to ancestors at the end
1. Edmund gains the name im pretty sure is supposed to reference real life serial killer ed gains (the inspiration for leather face) 2. I understand why he killed the twins, kid, and foster mom but I don’t understand why he killed the drug dealer with a baby
Right! I'm still trying to figure out why he was targeted too. Maybe because she protected him from Mckinney but failed to protect her own brother so her brother grew jealous of her connection with the drug dealer as if she was trying to replace Edmund with the drug dealer. She had sympathy for the guy but didn't have any sympathy for Edmund when he visited her home in '98. Maybe he wanted her to feel for him they way she felt for the drug dealer, compassion 🤷🏾♀️
Edmund looked crazy as Hulk Hogan, with that stocking cap on his head as the killer BUT THE CRAZIST was him with the stocking cap and wig on as Donovan's mother. He looked nuts. Now why did he kill Donovan? I know Edmund was upset he didn't get the part but the other children who were killed I thought were twins, but Donovan was not. Also, that was horrible how Donovan pleaded for his life and Edmund basically chopped his head up!
I can’t believe they adopted mom did them like that. I actually liked her. I was wondering why she didn’t like that raggedy Ann doll. I don’t feel as bad for her getting killed
This turned out being pretty good. I was watching it and was like dag. What does this have to do with season 1 until that last episode. Then i was like ooooohh! So now im ready for season 3. And Edmond, idk, he looked like a black jeffrey dahmer with them funny glasses on.
I feel "scare" in the titlte meant what gave the demon power. If you recall the end scene, Dawn tells Edmund that she loves him. The demon begins to break down at that moment. I also think Edmunds comedic scenes as you call them showed how hard he was trying and how pathetic he was, how everyone saw him as a joke when he was really trying to act. It was funny at points but to me it didn't take away from the message that he felt people making fun of him and how he felt alone in the world. I do feel some characters weren't developed but there were only 8 episodes. I appreciated the story and was intrigued to see the black face guy at the end. Hoping for season 3.
I’m gonna have to respectfully disagree, I happened to mess up and watch this season first and found it to be much more “fun” to watch as well as I felt conflicted about Edmund, part of the time I thought he did an amazing job being exceedingly creepy, other times I felt sympathy for him..being able to pull that off is not easy to do! I am also a big horror fan and felt this was legitimately a good “scary serial Also, didn’t catch the Jason timeframe thing, but did appreciate the Poetic Justice (irony now that I think about that scene) part at the end!
This season took too long to get to the point and wasn't scary at all... also when she said that the twins father ran off did he just decide to become a deadbeat dad or was he scared off by the evil forces that has attached themselves to her family? Guess we'll find out in season 3
This season was better IMO than the first. What really got me was the two separate timelines. I did NOT see that coming. This season, like las season showed how trauma can actually become a living, breating entity.
The Southside Slayer is apparently a part of LA history. Ig they were thought to have committed a string of murders throughout the '80s and '90s. Turns out there was no "Southside Slayer," as it was multiple killers committed unrelated murders.
I found it scary. I was stressed and mesmerized the whole time. Like honestly I thought this show was great and puts American horror story to shame! Ryan Murphy doesn’t have shit on this.
Naturally i thought it took a long time for dawn to realize this was supernatural rather then trying to solve it. I loved Dawn but she was semi problematic she was harsh and mean she didn't give off the helpful person
I hope they keep making more seasons because from the ending we can see that we gotta go through the entire Emery family. And my worst nightmare might be coming in season 3
I’ve been toying the idea of doing a video on this but we will see. And funny you said most people would’nt find it scary yet there are dozens of comments on their social media page talking about how scary it is 😂 But I agree. Definitely underdeveloped and the characters were all pretty flat. I would’ve liked more back story on the demon and how he came into Edmund’s life. Luke James definitely gave the best performance and I want to see him in more roles in horror (he was in Horror Noire, another anthology if you haven’t seen it). Honestly, I’m over Black trauma in horror. While this season wasn’t as heavy, it was enough. Great breakdown!
In the first season, Miles told Hiram during the covenant that a broken heart is like an open door and that if Hiram went through the door, he could break them from the inside.
I'm sorry you didn't necessarily like this session, this was great. It was scary as hell to me and the plot made great sense. Luke James deserves an award for his performance
A great recap of the season 2 ending by the way. Did y'all catch the twin's grandma explaining how the white doll was the favorite out of all dolls? Even though we owned black dolls I remember my friends and I having white dolls our parents bought.
I agree about the design of the demon, but everything else about this season I really liked. Edmond was far scarier than the pro-wrestler looking demon, haha. The story was great, acting was very good, reminded me of a cross between early AMS and Twin Peaks. Really great stuff.
I'm confused because on the episode where the demon killed the adopted mom the cast list said that this character was William Reeves... but they reveal Edmund was her brother? Did anyone else notice that?
I don’t understand the timeline of when Edmund went to the white family and was subsequently placed back into the foster care system. I wish we would’ve gotten more on his upbringing there.
The boy in the orphanage was killed because he was separated from his twin like they were. The drug dealer was killed because he put the baby in danger like the foster mother did. Those were clues to Dawn.
so to answer your question. the mexican boy signified how he and his brother were seperated like Edmund and his sister. The drug dealer was done but McKinney. but the way the baby was tied up and made to watch is probably going to comeback in season 3 as a past Trauma to a new character that is the adult version of him.
I just finished this. I'm done with Them. I don't enjoy working that hard to make sense of a story. Great review as always. You put the pieces together for me.😊

I was in tears when he tried to play the gangsta
You seen what happened to Donovan for laughing
Pookie G 😂
Nah it's even more funny because the actor Luke James's Played as a Gangster in the show "The Chi" so seeing that had me dying
@ryhanejohnson9295 that shit crazy to
That and hulk Hogan scene was funny. But no joke. But I could see him as a killer in a movie wearing that same outfit that he wore for the audition he looked like a real killer
The part where Dawn's son saw the demon in the gym was crazy.
I kinda found that ironic since his biological grandmother performed for her school, just for it to come back and hunt him.
@@kyvesmith6362I had the exact same thought !!
Also, rejected by his boss (by losing his job).
@@kyvesmith6362 I could see that. What made me realize that he was the killer and that his story took place in the past is that I couldn’t figure out how he fit into Dawn’s story. So I just figured that we must have been watching the origins of the killer.
@@angelawilson1828 yes, I forgot that one. He seemed to be rejected by society as a whole
This season deserves an Emmy. Wow! It was incredible
Yes especially Creepy edmound😂
Glad you enjoyed it
Agreed!
You need better taste and higher IQ in life
Edmund was such a layered character, anyone remember the Atlanta murderer Wayne Williams ? The glasses, the unsuspecting aura, “black men don’t get cast a serial killers” knowing they used Wayne William to help profile black serial killers.
Yes I kept thinking of Wayne Williams
Let’s add Henry Louis Wallace (taco strangler “ to this as well 🤣😭glasses , cadence unsuspecting aura.
As an atuve from Atlaas soon ad I seen him and hi initial soft spoken/ odd demeanor I instantly thought of Wayne Williams
Luke James did amazing!! Showed how versatile his acting skills are
Edmund by far the stand-out character of the season.
The actor portraying him was just absolutely brilliant and done an amazing job.
Luke James put on a acting clinic
Luke James performance as Edmund was one of the most mesmerizing psychotic performances I've ever watched the whole season was good I just didn't like the ending but that's why I'm here thank you for the breakdown wonderful show but a lot of plot holes that didn't get answered
He easily was the best performance
After watch his performance I think he is too good to be on The Chi now💯💯

Great show I didn’t like the ending either
I believe Kel OCD (needing to have everything in 3) resembled him longing for his family to be together. At the end she asked him to set the table, specifically for 3, because his dad was coming over.
That’s a really good catch 👌🏾
@@tommytamagotchi3569 🥰
When he auditioned for the gangsta role. I couldn’t help but think about the guy from Malibus Most Wanted
😂😂😂😂
rightt, he was acting like taye diggs from that movie
i think Edmunds character was so lost on who he was.
A generational curse
Sure but was killing him a bit of a contradiction because now that baby don’t have a father in his life.
@@MovieFiles That’s true, he’s so hyper focused on his own hurt he doesn’t see anything else
@@MovieFilesYes but their father also left. Thats what the mother said when giving them up. So maybe he was recreating that aspect.
Yo the tap dance man is one of the most scariest sights stg
Literallllllyyyyy second only to those demon twins from Lovecraft Country. NIGHTMARE FUEL!
The box her mother kept hidden tied into her buying locked in a box as a chidl but also it reminds me of the box Lucky kept hidden with Baby Emory's bones in it in season 1 #littleblackbox
Lucky is their grandmother, it was a nice touch and call back
I thought of the same thing
Luke James played the hell out of Edmund!! He deserves all the awards.
He also felt like freddy kreuger
So I don’t think Edmund waited 2 years to come after Dawn. I think he was the Southside Slayer but she got taken off the case so he decided to make it more direct
That mother and son struggling with the same identity was a beautiful connection
She was giving me “Justice” vibes on her outfits
Lord this show exceeded my expectations! Enjoyed season 1 and season 2 didn’t disappoint! Amazing how they tied the two seasons together when you thought they had nuthin in common
Exactly, I thought they were doing something like American horror story
The season scared the bejesus out of me. I had to keep the lights on while watching. 😂😅
Scary cat lol
How? I had to have it pitch black because there was so much darkness I couldn’t see much lol
@@happyglamper7412right! Shows nowadays are so dark that we can’t see anything unless the lights are off 🤣
No really !! Lmaoo I was like Unt un I can only watch this in the daytime 😭
I definitely didn’t watch this at night 👀
Out of all the reviews I’ve seen no one ever acknowledges when Dawn went to visit the Asian family, the Brother says there are 2 killers. Which I think was Really the red head cop and(in real life) used the Grim sleeper as a back drop as well. With all the attention on the Rodney king case and gang violence. The Grim reaper(serial killer) went unnoticed for years, until one lady escaped(like the lady in the car with Edmond)
That makes so much sense
I think the victim covered the mirror because their face looked scary.
I assume this because when the son looked at the TV screen, he didn’t recognize himself.
Probably because he didn’t see representation of himself in what he was watching on tv?
If you pay close attention a lot of this series deals with boxes. In the first season the box was where the mom held her deceased baby, and in the final episode where the sister is in the bathroom facing her demon it’s said “you held your deceased brother in a box” fast forward to the second season the step mom has a box given to her by the daughter in the first season with a picture of her twin brother.
Yeah now that you explained that it make sense
Listen, LUKE JAMES!! That was some acting right there boy! That man really had me spooked but feeling sad for him at the same time. Like that kid that you wanna give a hug and share your lunch with but you REFUSE to be alone with cause you just have a weird feeling for no reason. Bravo Luke!
As soon as I saw the tap dancing man I said “damn its not over”😭
My reaction too!
I know it was meant to be and I found it funny
such a good season! Luke James did so well like his range is crazyyyy. the ending of ep.8 threw me for a loop! what ya gon do man came back so creepy 😩
Glad you enjoyed it
@@MovieFiles yeah!! i just hope season 3 don’t take 3 years to come out lol
@@lovecokegolddidn’t even notice a 3 year gap .. I didn’t even expect another season
Master of horror 👀 I don’t know about that one lol either way, appreciate you sharing your thoughts.
@@MovieFiles after your conclusion, I knew you'd say that! 😅 Great vid, ya got a sub. Keeping up the fantastic work
I feel like the death of the drug dealer was to remind Reeves When her father died somebody else was there. The day her dad died he was alone with his son, Edmond. like the way the drug dealer was home alone with his son. i guess
That's probably the correct take.
Interesting
Glad you enjoyed it and found it scary
The mexican getting taken yo the hospital was so dumb i turned it off and searched this video.
Nah s1 is def scarier
Like James killed it. Honestly loved the raggedy Andy demon. Gave me the creeps and thought it was an iconic look.
see i think season 1 had the creeps and trauma and season 2 had the crazy plot twist
Yeah season 2 definitely had more twists, literally 🤣
@@MovieFiles lmaoo good one😭😭🤣
Luke James deserves an award for playing Edmund!!!
I enjoyed this season but I do agree there was some plot holes and unanswered questions by the end!
As far as killing the drug dealer he was using his child to hide his activities like the foster mother was and the Mexican boy was separated from his brother like she was! All the killings was clues sending the sister a message!
I like how he auditioned for the role Edmund had to do to get this role! I bet he scared people with his real audition!
Honorable mention to Pam Grier! Outstanding performance by Ms Grier
It could’ve been jealousy.
Why’d he kill the others?
@@OceanExplorer25they all reminded him of he and his estranged twin

Before all i thought of was johnny gill when i saw luke james now i can never see him the same😭😭
Edmond really played his part great performance

Hoping for season 3.
that doll looks like the actual Annabelle doll.
The Annabelle doll is a large sized raggedy Anne doll that they used to sell back in the day
There’s definitely comparisons between the two
I’m gonna have to respectfully disagree, I happened to mess up and watch this season first and found it to be much more “fun” to watch as well as I felt conflicted about Edmund, part of the time I thought he did an amazing job being exceedingly creepy, other times I felt sympathy for him..being able to pull that off is not easy to do!
Yeah the scares were nonexistent to me as well
I was more so scared in a disturbed type of way like season 1 but just emotionally disturbed
This season was better IMO than the first. What really got me was the two separate timelines. I did NOT see that coming. This season, like las season showed how trauma can actually become a living, breating entity.
I think it went after Benito because his brother got sent back to Mexico like how Edmund got sent back as a kid.
Who was the south side slayer?! Was it McKinney?! I’m still invested in that side plot
I agree there were a lot of unanswered questions
The Southside Slayer is apparently a part of LA history. Ig they were thought to have committed a string of murders throughout the '80s and '90s. Turns out there was no "Southside Slayer," as it was multiple killers committed unrelated murders.
I believe it was going on during that timeframe
Lonnie David Franklin Jr. aka the south grim sleeper !!

I had no problem with the raggedy Andy costume. It was creepy as hell!
I came here for answers but you have confirmed that I didn't miss anything. We need more info
Yeah I got more unintentional laughs than scares for sure 🤣 appreciate you checking out my video.
Glad you enjoyed it
I wish someone would speak on how this season showed how broken and harmful the adoption and foster care system really is.
A great recap of the season 2 ending by the way. Did y'all catch the twin's grandma explaining how the white doll was the favorite out of all dolls? Even though we owned black dolls I remember my friends and I having white dolls our parents bought.
When the mom dumped kids off at the mean ladies home the demon punished the kids because to show that nobody is escaping the curse.
Thank you so much for the synopsis. I didn’t watch Them so I was confused by some of the content in Them the scare. Great job!👍🏽
It was kinda choppy but somethings they did catch up on hopefully there is a season 3
We’ll see
Luke james as edmund was phenomenal
Edmund was my favorite character
The boy in the orphanage was killed because he was separated from his twin like they were. The drug dealer was killed because he put the baby in danger like the foster mother did. Those were clues to Dawn.
This made me want to look up the historical context of raggedy ann
so to answer your question. the mexican boy signified how he and his brother were seperated like Edmund and his sister. The drug dealer was done but McKinney. but the way the baby was tied up and made to watch is probably going to comeback in season 3 as a past Trauma to a new character that is the adult version of him.
Luke James needs to be nominated and win an Emmy fr, or whichever ever award is for TV shows
The Mexican boy was a twin. The Mexican was deported because he was troublesome. It resembled Edmond and Dawn life.
I just finished this. I'm done with Them. I don't enjoy working that hard to make sense of a story. Great review as always. You put the pieces together for me.😊
