Angle grinder speed controller - after converting an angle grinder to a circular saw

Converting an angle grinder to circular saw can be a money saving project. There are so many things we can do with angle grinders and we can also convert them into many useful tools such as converting angle grinder to belt sanders, drillers, routers etc. I have watched the videos, Diy circular saw from angle grinder | angle grinder hack |creative boss, and inspired, I decided to build one myself. I have also learned how to add circular saw blade fix angle grinder.
But when the angle grinder operates or run at very high PRM or speed, it makes us hard to use it as a circular saw. It might not be very safe and convenient for us to use it that way, so we need a speed controller. Some Bosch or INGCO or Makita angle grinders come with a speed controller but it’s more expensive than those without one. So I decided to build a speed controller or voltage controller for my circular saw that I converted from the angle grinder. The result is satisfying as in the cut test, I can have more control of the circular saw or angle grinder and feel safer. The way I build the cheap speed controller, make it possible to control the speed of drill machine or router etc.
Wenn der Winkelschleifer jedoch mit sehr hoher PRM oder Geschwindigkeit arbeitet oder läuft, ist es schwierig, ihn als Kreissäge zu verwenden. Es ist möglicherweise nicht sehr sicher und bequem für uns, es auf diese Weise zu verwenden, daher benötigen wir einen Geschwindigkeitsregler. Good idea to put a speed control on the angle grinder.
What kind of pot did you use in the project? Did you use any thyristor controls?

Hi Paulo, thank for watching it. The pot that I used is a type of speed controllers that we can find in some angle grinders. I bought it from a hardware store. My angle grinder didn't come with a speed controller. I could have embedded it into my angle grinder, but i decided to attached it to a power outlet instead so that I can use it with drillers or other types of power tool. :)

I am not sure about it's capacity, but it's a common controller that we can find in some angle grinders. It was made for angle grinders and other power tools.

What rpm have you brought it down to.? This info is vital.

Thanks brother, for the question. The speed controller only has number of speeds from 1 to 6, so it's impossible to know the RPM, but I normally most comfortable to use number 4 or 5, not too fast, not too slow.

@selva kumar some grinders dont start all of a sudden, they gradually pick up speed, its a safety feature that requires some circuitry in the machine,so they are expensive compared to normal ones. external speed controllers are said to not work on these grinders and so the question from my part.

It is a simple matter to control the speed of an angle grinder but a reduction speed results in a reduction in torque which renders the grinder useless .
