A couple of tips I found helpful. Use black foam sheets versus grey so you dont need to spray paint them and use an old black wig so it won't need spray painting. I also cut the foam piece ends into shape of head or tail of a snake. Incredible headpiece!
More tips: add the snake pattern on the foam strips to better blend with the snakes. You could use a stencil which you can also use for your face if you're not good at hand drawing snake pattern.
@@handsinknead77 fine fishnet stocking is a great, cheap way to make a scale stencil. Use a sponge or dry brush to dab bronze or gold onto the black foam through the fishnet before cutting it into strips.
I'm recreating this look too for a halloween party. Finishing head piece now but I do find it very heavy and when I fit it on my head the weight slowly pulls it down/off. Any suggestions to help this? Latex to my head? Lol put on straps..but I'm worried ppl will see them.
I did this head peice and it turned out amazing. Used 3- 10mm foam rolls, ordered from Amazon for the hair and used wood skewers. Now to sew an outfit to go with it.
I’ve Been stuck on my Medusa headpiece for over a year and a half. This has inspired me and given me ideas to finish it off. Thank you it’s a gorgeous creation!
I love how you gave this mythological creature the sexiness and alluring attitude it deserves. It is beautiful yet terrifying at the same time and I am living for it!!!
Thank you for your realistic assessment! I‘ve seen sooooo many tutorials saying they have the best and easiest costume that don‘t take long and when I watch the Video I notice this will take forever. So thank you for this nice look, good tutorial and the realistic assesment! ❤
Je me suis inspiré 🎉de votre makeup halloween pour cette année 2023. Je n’avais pas les mêmes matériaux, alors j’utilise ce que j'ai trouvé, le plus proche. Merci de partager votre talent ❤🙏
14:01 For an extravagant look like this we can not forget the BROWS (meant eyelashes), so throw them in there, those falsies... hehe when somebody is doing a voiceover alone late at night 😂😉
@ellimacs THANK for making this tutorial!. I took this tutorial to help me win a Halloween Costume Contest. I won 2ND, and everyone was gagging, and stopped "stone cold" when they saw me! Thank you so much for guiding me to brilliance, and helping me looking like a pro when I'm a novice.!
Tip for this project to speed up build time: use an electronics duster compressed air can and turn it upside down, spraying onto the hot glue while affixing the foam to the wig base. Dries the glue in SECONDS rather than having to sit there and hold the foam in place for 5 min. WEAR GLOVES AND GLASSES CUZ IT SPLASHES AND CAN BURN YOU!
Just finished making this headpiece for Halloween! I used mesh tubing instead of foam though and painted it all matte black! So excited! Thank you for the inspo!!

Excellent tutorial!! Many thanks for sharing your detailed technique and tips with us. You've given me the confidence to create my own Medusa headpiece. Blessings 🧡
I LOVE how none of the questio s asked are answered. Like where can u get the sticks? Whats the latex/ flour ratio? Well apparently you have to guess and make it to the best of your ability.
Tye still if you watch the video closely you'll see they do things that aren't mentioned but it is what it is. Also he says the only money spent was on the sticks n snakes. He never mentioned how expensive the foam was. I looked it up and its costly, good thing i improvised. And about the sticks they could at least mention where they got them from. I know theyre not in the US so give us the option to order internationally. Ive watched the vids on the latex paste its still not that great. All ive seen is flour n latex mix but i havnt seen for example 1 cup of latex and 1/2 cup of flour to get the right amount n texture. Anywho i finished mine awhile ago . It came out pretty good so no complaints. It wouldve just been nice to get a response from the actual ppl that post these videos as were the ones watching learning and attempting to make their creations.
I completely agree. Links to stores, links to other videos, an answer.....it would be great. I've asked a few questions on other sites as well and it seems that no one EVER answers back. It's not like I'm fan girling asking for autographs and merchandise and shit, just simple answers to your tutorial. It is what it is.
@@kassandra9352 Exactly the reality is they really don’t care and they don’t care about answering anybody it’s a matter of how many people click on the video the more clicks the more money they going to make whether they respond or not that’s just how it works

Hi, where did you get the snakes?
did you have a hard time keeping it on your head?
without the weight making it slip?
How long did you make the foam pieces?
