I don't think any band will ever knock Death from #1 on my list of favorite bands, but these guys have come the closest. True symphonic soundscapes that improve with each listening.
Thanks to everyone for the comments about the composition of my basslines. This bass track was recorded with my MF fretless 6 strings, at the end of the year 2013, recorded, mixed and mastered by Chris Donaldson. Thank you to this band to continue to share my studio tracks through their videos even after all these years !! Bass lessons available on Skype at forestbasse@gmail.com and Thank you again for supporting my bands, past and present ! cHEERS :)
For those concerned about the new bassist, I had a chance to see them in RI not long ago and Hugo was magnificent. Not one single slip, completely natural the whole time. It may seem like he's having some struggle but I guarantee he is not. He's a pretty tiny dude so he has a lot more ground to cover with his hands, so he has to do bigger movements than Forest did, and he does so flawlessly. Even using a de-fretted Ibanez his tone was spot on like Forest's. He's a great fit and a funny dude. He seems like a natural addition to the band
Spooks Man Plays teramobil is fucking nuts and more my speed anyways. this guy can hold up to dom well enough that him leaving isn't the end of the world but a new beginning of more great bands
Quality over quantity. Nearly all bands make the mistake of making too many songs on an album, especially those who don't have enough talent to make lots of good music. Obviously tech/prog death bands are often not on that massive list.
My only thought the first time I heard this was HOLY FUCK!!!! I had to listen over and over because the pace of the song and the technical aspects of each instrument leave you struggling to keep up with your ears. This band is INSANELY GOOD.
Reading the comments I see people being a bit skeptical about the new bassist. I had the pleasure of watching them live last night at summer slaughter. They were simply amazing, probably my favorite performance. The bassist played very effortlessly on their songs, he was definitely enjoying himself. Played with smile the whole time, too.
Biggest thing you can do for your bass (especially live) is a compressor. Usually, the lower notes are much louder than the mid/high notes, so they often drown out in the mix live. A compressor helps level out the volume difference.
What happened with the other playthroughs? Don't mean to be demandant, but you promised more cool videos like this and it's been a while since L'exorde playthrough came out. So yeah, we kinda demand more :P
My problem is that I see a bunch of handsome gentles (ey candy.. :P ) but I just cannot keep my eye on the faces, music takes all away, haha. Daaammn, those riffs!!!
Slightly late to the party, but yes, the frets were removed. This an Ibanez Prestige series SR1560 (? number might be wrong), which doesn't come in a fretless model, so he likely just had somebody take out the frets and refinish the fretboard.
new bassist looks like he's struggling a bit, hopefully that's just my imagination really hoping that forest wasn't this band's cliff burton, as i really like the "lead bassist" style this band had and i don't want to see it turn into generic techdeath
shadowtroop121 Yea true, but Forest also created som really hard and technical basslines, im sure he just needs to get used to it. its always diffifult to play someones else playstyle. As for writing its hard to say if he is as genious as Forest :)
shadowtroop121 I doubt they would hire a sub par bass player to fill in for Forest. I'm seeing a lot of comments saying they've seen him play live and he was a fucking monster so I trust they've found an amazing replacement.
BER2ERKER Dunno, even that song is mostly their usual formula: Tapping lick, arpeggiated chords that provide a backing track for the bass melody, bog-standard choppy string-skipping riffs. No experiments, really. When it comes to guitar lines I don't think I ever heard anything quite as creative as Orgone's "The Joyless Parson" album.
+Barra Edinazzu Really? I barely noticed that they switched, only that their tone got muddier and buried even deeper under the basslines. The guys are obviously good, but it just feels... Underwhelming. It's basically what Necrophagist played ten years ago, but slower and with half of the melodic complexity shifted over to the bassline and way too many weak tapping licks. Of course it's hard to top "Epitaph" (Necrophagist themselves didn't even try, really), but a bit /more/ would have been nice. Dunno, hard to explain. The guitar parts just don't grab me, the basslines are just too powerful and they're all I ever remember about their songs.
5 years ago, when you weren't well-known, you were ok with me uploading a couple of your tracks on my channel. But now that you became somewhat famous, you file a copyright strike on one of my videos (which has 340k+ views compared to 5-10k on any other channel including yours). I don't even have monetisation on my channel. Is that your attitude towards your fans now? Fans who were trying to promote your music to a broader audience. Not cool, man (Kevin Chartré). Not cool. I hope money will give you more happiness than the people who love what you do. If money is all what you do your music for.

+Mark Lee The copyright is an automatic service of UA-cam's robot. Don't blame the band they have absolutely done nothing against you.
***** In my case it is not, though. The complaint shows the name of the person who filed it. "Content: Manually detected. Claimant: Kevin Chartré". Their guitar player. It also says: "A *claimant sent us* a legal notice about their copyrighted content in your video."
+Mark Lee Kevin is a great guy, and he certainly cares about his fans. If you ever meet him, you will see that. new bassist shreds, hope he writes as well as he plays!
+Dom Portera I think it is the singer who writes everything in this band
Check out his other bands, Brought By Pain and Equipoise. He writes awesome lines, though maybe not quite as good as Forest.
MJS2001 He plays in Equipoise? That's cool didn't know that. Is that "his" band? I heard of them because of the artisan era.
Not really "his" band, it's like an online collaboration.
That new bassist slaps litterally

Legend!
Lmao throwback to Skype didn't expect that

He's the best !!! Not only is he a great musician but an amazing person. Anyone would be lucky to have him in their band.
+Brendan Seigel I actually de-fretted my Ibanez Soundgear a few years ago and it sounded amazing
I loved Forest.
Saw them live last night.
The bassist definitely can pull all of this off live.
For those complaining about the bass being loud, this is their style. Listen to their other songs.
Hahaha fans of generic metal are often not used to hearing bass in songs. I was like that before but now I love it :D
Its the best part of the group, its not 00010000111001010 and we can hear it.
The new album drowned the bass
that bass is awesome! good luck to the new bassist :)
New bassist is good... Damn good.. it takes near godly skills to match up to Dom.
+Dylan V Dom was his teacher... which makes him the best possible choice as a replacement
+Dylan V Any idea why Dom is no more playing bass in the band?
He plays in other French bands.
it was half he got kicked out and half he wanted to focus on teramobil
Spooks Man Plays teramobil is fucking nuts and more my speed anyways. this guy can hold up to dom well enough that him leaving isn't the end of the world but a new beginning of more great bands
Glad to see the new bassist kicking ass. Awesome video guys!
absolutely masterpiece!
this band is really awesome!! lml
Thanks Beyond Creation. you guys do really good musik, plz make more good albums like your old. I hope you the best to get achievement
nice
Simply amazing. Hope you guys come back through Texas sometime soon.
You guys seriously rock.
Thank you for what you do.
Why so short? this song is fucking amazing!
Quality over quantity. Nearly all bands make the mistake of making too many songs on an album, especially those who don't have enough talent to make lots of good music. Obviously tech/prog death bands are often not on that massive list.
so amazing....beautiful
No headless guitars, simply beautyful
My only thought the first time I heard this was HOLY FUCK!!!! I had to listen over and over because the pace of the song and the technical aspects of each instrument leave you struggling to keep up with your ears. This band is INSANELY GOOD.
Brutal as always !
Amazing!
Ta Porra esses caras são uns Monstros !!!!!
I want to learn how to play fundamental process can we get a how to video !!
These guys do a lot of guitar tapping on riffs, I haven't seen that in any other tech death except for solos.
Hugo is Brutal!

POURQUOI EST-CE QUE J'AI UNE ÉRECTION ?
adrien MICHEL merci d'en foutre partout
adrien MICHEL je pense que tout le monde s'en fout
Я считаю что это одни из самых интересных и техничных групп современности.
Amazing‼︎
Why unlisted?
Awesooooooome !!!!!!!
!!!! Banda chingona Dioses del METAL !!!!!!!!!!!
top skillz
That bass line is fucking sick
Anyone has an idea about the fretless bass settings in order to get such a clean and punching sound?
I don't play fretless but I think low action, roundwounds, plenty of mids and a bit of distortion is key
+Daniel Samsen thank you for the advice, I'll try this out
+Mark Vader Also, using the bridge pickup may pronounce the mids more :)
Biggest thing you can do for your bass (especially live) is a compressor. Usually, the lower notes are much louder than the mid/high notes, so they often drown out in the mix live. A compressor helps level out the volume difference.
What guitar has got Kevin here?
What happened with Forest ¿?
the name "beyond imagination" would be much more adequated
foro some reason that sounds prog as fuck
+Æinarr “Mitsuki” Krigsson for
Dominic RETURNNNNNN!
The bassist looking like Jafar from Aladdin.
His head seems to have turned upside down since I last saw him lol.
wow bruh...so true...however, now I cannot un-see it...
The last ine was better.
My name is Jafar
I came from Afar
There is bomb in ma car
Wallahu Akbar пхахахаха
que afinación? ?
Whats the brand pf their guitars
What happened with the other playthroughs? Don't mean to be demandant, but you promised more cool videos like this and it's been a while since L'exorde playthrough came out. So yeah, we kinda demand more :P
what is the model/brand name of bass guitar ?
ibanez soundgear premium, looks to be a discontinued one as well of the premiums, and looks like it started out with frets to be made fretless
@@ianstrickland5280 thank you :)
where is forest now?
in the wood
Sick! Are those blade pickups the D Activator X pickups?
Young Snape killed it!
What Elixir strings do they use for their 8 strings?
What happened to Forest? :(
Austin Frain he left the band idk more details , was sad too when i heard that
MORE STRINGS! 💀👍
My problem is that I see a bunch of handsome gentles (ey candy.. :P ) but I just cannot keep my eye on the faces, music takes all away, haha. Daaammn, those riffs!!!
HOLY SHIT
where is Forest?
+Максим Квентин He left
First Fragment/Augury
the fact that I will never see them live with forest genuinely depresses me :(
Are the frets removed on the bass?
+Brandin Sullivan yeah it's a fretless
hence the "bwowwww bwahhhww" sound
It is a lined fretless bass.
Slightly late to the party, but yes, the frets were removed. This an Ibanez Prestige series SR1560 (? number might be wrong), which doesn't come in a fretless model, so he likely just had somebody take out the frets and refinish the fretboard.
C'est quoi un exorde
Theres no tabs right?
Playing slow is playing fast with time. You can select the speed of reproduction in the video and see it slow for practicing.
I don't want Hugo to match forest I want him to be himself
But I also don't want beyond creation to be generic
new bassist looks like he's struggling a bit, hopefully that's just my imagination
really hoping that forest wasn't this band's cliff burton, as i really like the "lead bassist" style this band had and i don't want to see it turn into generic techdeath

shadowtroop121 Just saw them live and met the bassist. Trust me...dude fucking shreds and totally nailed every song live
I'm pretty sure any professional bass player would struggle playing that part. It's really technical stuff.
shadowtroop121 I doubt they would hire a sub par bass player to fill in for Forest. I'm seeing a lot of comments saying they've seen him play live and he was a fucking monster so I trust they've found an amazing replacement.
shadowtroop121 what makes you think that?
I would tap that
Can't help but feel that the guitar parts simply can't keep up with the basslines in terms of creativity and awesomeness.
Fundamental Process. One of the most creative guitar lines I've ever heard in the genre in that song.
BER2ERKER Dunno, even that song is mostly their usual formula: Tapping lick, arpeggiated chords that provide a backing track for the bass melody, bog-standard choppy string-skipping riffs. +fredmachine you talk like you think that using arpagiated cords in a rhythmic way is easy or something O.o
+Kinnzie Martin chords
We need to see the new bassist in live action!
great song, New bass player is a Fucking boss, still miss Dominic though lol
Amk yeni bassçıda iyi güzelde Dominici aradı gözüm
