I’ve had the blue SMP at the dealer on my wrist and the blue wasn’t as exciting in their store lights (Bucherer in Düsseldorf). Unique in YT imo! Pls keep doing your videos! :)
Well, here in Wiesbaden, it is the opposite. The light coming down in the store window set the watch in a smoky blue, that has nothing from midnight, marin or chinese blue.

I bought my blue Seamaster last year. At first i was not sure which colour to pick at the AD. I asked him if I can see the different colours in daylight. He showed me the watches outside and I immediately chose the blue one. Still happy with my pick. Congrats on yours!

Hey Brian, I actually just bought the Omega mesh bracelet for my SMP - it is spectacular and elevates this watch even higher. I have a short/reel wrist roll of it on my channel you can see. I will also do a full video on it - it is THAT good!
You are Correct about the distance of What the watch will like like to others. .. I know on Just one more watch channel. Jody does a "Pocket Shot" Which is similar. Good Take!!!
Check out the Tokyo version. It's white dial but the hands and hour markers are blue, but ONLY when the light hits them. Otherwise they look black. Very dynamic color!
I have the blue SMP 300 as well. Stunning watch and love it. You should also look at the Planet Ocean.Would love the 2 Rolexes you have...I can only dream at this stage....!

Hi Jordan, thank you SO MUCH for your compliment! The Moonwatch is a classic and the sapphire sandwich is my fav version of the classic one (Silver Snoopy is ultimate to me). Personally, I am more of an SMP guy ... I just prefer more modern looking watches vs. more vintage inspired watches. I think if you ask 100 watch enthusiats ... all 100 would say, "You can't go wrong either way." :)
This is probably the first video which has allowed me to see the difference in appearance between the Seamaster and Rolex watches. I have the same Daytona as you and I absolutely love it, but compared to the GMT ( and probably the Sub) the Seamaster seems less flat and has a lot more character. If only the clasp wasn’t so thick and the bracelet so heavy. 🥴
Hi Matt, I agree with you ... the SMP would be close to perfect if the bracelet was not so heavy and clasp a bit thinner (and without the double triggers).

Thank you Billy! I actually had the white SMP first, then the classic blue, and now the black. There are definitely times when I miss my blue SMP dearly - it’s a STUNNING watch! The main reason I wanted the black one was to be more understated for traveling and situations where I don’t want my watch to be noticed. The blue one is probably my favorite version of the SMP. I am so glad my video helped you to decide on yours 😊👍
@@DougsPerspective I decided to buy the blue and my brother is all about the black on rubber like yours and like I told him there is no wrong choice between them two colors but I do agree that the black is a little bit more conservative and more of an everyday match anything wearer and sometimes I do think about that and want both, but doesn’t everyone🤷🏻♂️

Distance shots - absolutely right, many youtubers won't ever get this point. Thanks further for setting the watch in regular conditions of light, so I get more problems to choose the green one over the blue one: Which one I should go for?

How has the blue worked out for you? I have several Rolexes with black dials and looking to add an SMP. Cant decide between blue and white on bracelet.
I had the white SMP on rubber and bracelet and sold it. I understand what you mean about white dial watches. I love how they look, but when I wear it, something just seems off. If I ever get a seamaster down the line, blue is the way to go.

I agree the black SMP is more "elegant." However, the blue has more of a "vacation/weekend" vibe to it. My black dialed Rolex GMT Batman and Rolex black ceramic Daytona handle the more "elegant" needs, while I got this blue SMP for more casual times. Thank you so much for your comments! :)
It's a beautiful timepiece, the only thing I absolutely disguise is it's humongous price, this Seamaster has me drowning & the only one to save me is Seiko Sports 5 SRPD51K1!💙
It is unfortunate that watches (all luxury brands) are so expensive ... and it seems they are increasing their prices every year. The SRPD51K1 is a cool watch ... I really like it in blue.
I bought a white dial Seamaster about 1.5 months ago, and I have the same problem. The watch is great, don't get me wrong, but I'm afraid the white just isn't for me. Did you sell your white smp? Hi KoenjanF, I did sell my white SMP about 3 months after first buying it. I replaced it with the blue one about one year later. Ironically, I sold the blue one after I received "the call" for my green bezel Submariner. I lost $800 on the white one and $600 on the blue one. Now, I just have my Daytona, BLNR, and Kermit.

Hi Michael, thank you. It is hard to justify that double price ... I have seen a few members of a watch forum I am a part of (WUS) that purchased the TT version on rubber strap and then purchased the stainless steel bracelet (about $750) for it. It looks great that way. And there really isn't that much gold on the TT bracelet. Just something to consider.

Thank you for your video! I think the seamaster will be my next watch. I thought I wanted the breitling superocean in Blue but im falling in love with the smp. I Just don't know which color. Even though I wanted the breitling In blue, the blue smp didnt attract me basically because of the look when you have It in that movement box thin at the 2.55 mark ( don't know what its called :-) ) With that light It looks a bit cheap to me. I think beacuse It looks like a mat finish. But I have to say, on your wrist It looks stunning. Back to the AD I guess :-)
Hey Rutger, I too considered the Breitling SO ... it's a really nice watch. But I do agree the SMP is a bit more special. Any of the colors are very nice. I had a white one last year (I have a video of it on my channel if you wish to check it out). The blue changes color dramatically depending on the light. Wishing you the best the holiday season!

After the robbery, I took down all my videos but recently decided to make them available again. Luckily the guy was caught by our wonderful police heroes and his trial is upcoming this month. Doug sad to hear you fell out of love with the white dial still have my white dial on my wrist after 18 months I have other watches in my collection with different coloured dials my honest opinion is I love them all can't split one from the other
Hey Peter, yes it is weird ... I just haven't jelled with the white dialed watches (and in my opinion, the white SMP is one of the most gorgeous of all white dialed watches). I think I just like higher contrast between the SS bracelet and the dial. But I have to admit, there are times when I see other white SMPs (or even my video of my old one) that I think, "Damn that is a beauty!"

Hi Doug! I love the channel. What are your thoughts on the Omega Speedmaster Moonwatch Professional? I'm currently considering either the SMP or the Sapphire Sandwich.
Hi Jordan, thank you SO MUCH for your compliment! The Moonwatch is a classic and the sapphire sandwich is my fav version of the classic one (Silver Snoopy is ultimate to me). Personally, I am more of an SMP guy ... I just prefer more modern looking watches vs. more vintage inspired watches. I think if you ask 100 watch enthusiats ... all 100 would say, "You can't go wrong either way." :)
This is probably the first video which has allowed me to see the difference in appearance between the Seamaster and Rolex watches. I have the same Daytona as you and I absolutely love it, but compared to the GMT ( and probably the Sub) the Seamaster seems less flat and has a lot more character. If only the clasp wasn’t so thick and the bracelet so heavy. 🥴
Hi Matt, I agree with you ... the SMP would be close to perfect if the bracelet was not so heavy and clasp a bit thinner (and without the double triggers).

First of all, I would like to say I love all of your videos and I keep watching this video because this is actually the one video that made me decide to pull the trigger on my blue SMP because you just made that watch look so damn gorgeous and good and just curious now that you have the black if you ever miss or regret getting rid of the blue or do you feel the black is the better looking watch?
Thank you Billy! I actually had the white SMP first, then the classic blue, and now the black. There are definitely times when I miss my blue SMP dearly - it’s a STUNNING watch! The main reason I wanted the black one was to be more understated for traveling and situations where I don’t want my watch to be noticed. The blue one is probably my favorite version of the SMP. I am so glad my video helped you to decide on yours 😊👍
@@DougsPerspective I decided to buy the blue and my brother is all about the black on rubber like yours and like I told him there is no wrong choice between them two colors but I do agree that the black is a little bit more conservative and more of an everyday match anything wearer and sometimes I do think about that and want both, but doesn’t everyone🤷🏻♂️
I have owned a black one for a year now. Definitely trading it for the blue one. Very good review

@@lilwespi7359 The blue is a stunning watch! I ended up getting rid of it when I got the new Rolex Kermit. If I get the black one, it would be as a more discreet watch since all of my other watches have color. So, I would never try to sway you away from the blue ... it's awesome!

Distance shots - absolutely right, many youtubers won't ever get this point. Thanks further for setting the watch in regular conditions of light, so I get more problems to choose the green one over the blue one: Which one I should go for?

How has the blue worked out for you? I have several Rolexes with black dials and looking to add an SMP. Cant decide between blue and white on bracelet.
I love both the blue and white ... however, white watches do not stay long in my collection. So, for me, the blue is the winner in that comparison.
I came close to buying the white , but went with the multifaceted blue after seeing it in person

I had the white SMP on rubber and bracelet and sold it. I understand what you mean about white dial watches. I love how they look, but when I wear it, something just seems off. If I ever get a seamaster down the line, blue is the way to go.

I agree the black SMP is more "elegant." However, the blue has more of a "vacation/weekend" vibe to it. My black dialed Rolex GMT Batman and Rolex black ceramic Daytona handle the more "elegant" needs, while I got this blue SMP for more casual times. Thank you so much for your comments! :)
It's a beautiful timepiece, the only thing I absolutely disguise is it's humongous price, this Seamaster has me drowning & the only one to save me is Seiko Sports 5 SRPD51K1!💙
It is unfortunate that watches (all luxury brands) are so expensive ... and it seems they are increasing their prices every year. The SRPD51K1 is a cool watch ... I really like it in blue.
I bought a white dial Seamaster about 1.5 months ago, and I have the same problem. The watch is great, don't get me wrong, but I'm afraid the white just isn't for me. Did you sell your white smp? How quickly did you buy the blue one? Did you lose a lot of money on the white? Just curious, thanks in advance.
Hi KoenjanF, I did sell my white SMP about 3 months after first buying it. I replaced it with the blue one about one year later. Ironically, I sold the blue one after I received "the call" for my green bezel Submariner. I lost $800 on the white one and $600 on the blue one. Now, I just have my Daytona, BLNR, and Kermit.

Hi Michael, thank you. It is hard to justify that double price ... I have seen a few members of a watch forum I am a part of (WUS) that purchased the TT version on rubber strap and then purchased the stainless steel bracelet (about $750) for it. It looks great that way. And there really isn't that much gold on the TT bracelet. Just something to consider.

Thank you for your video! I think the seamaster will be my next watch. I thought I wanted the breitling superocean in Blue but im falling in love with the smp.
I Just don't know which color. Even though I wanted the breitling In blue, the blue smp didnt attract me basically because of the look when you have It in that movement box thin at the 2.55 mark ( don't know what its called :-) )
With that light It looks a bit cheap to me. I think beacuse It looks like a mat finish.
But I have to say, on your wrist It looks stunning.

Hey Rutger, I too considered the Breitling SO ... it's a really nice watch. But I do agree the SMP is a bit more special. Any of the colors are very nice. I had a white one last year (I have a video of it on my channel if you wish to check it out). The blue changes color dramatically depending on the light. Wishing you the best the holiday season!

Hi Bosworth! Yes, my wrist size is 7.25” / 184mm. The bracelet drapes down quickly, so it does fit smaller wrist sizes better than most 42mm watches.

Hi Aaron, thank you for your comment ... I very much appreciate you. Actually, the reason I have taken videos down and this is my first video in some time is because I was robbed of my DJ41 fluted. After the robbery, I took down all my videos but recently decided to make them available again. Luckily the guy was caught by our wonderful police heroes and his trial is upcoming this month. Funny you mentioned GS - I am looking at them now. 😁

Doug sad to hear you fell out of love with the white dial still have my white dial on my wrist after 18 months I have other watches in my collection with different coloured dials my honest opinion is I love them all can't split one from the other
Hey Peter, yes it is weird ... I just haven't jelled with the white dialed watches (and in my opinion, the white SMP is one of the most gorgeous of all white dialed watches). I think I just like higher contrast between the SS bracelet and the dial. But I have to admit, there are times when I see other white SMPs (or even my video of my old one) that I think, "Damn that is a beauty!"
