    I omitted to write that you are not only an expert on what you do: you have a particular ability to convey your know-how to millions of people all over the World. No bla blas, no yelling or trying to convince, just right. Thank you again.

    Hello my Friends J, i followed your chip bud technique, and it works awesome, I modified by also making a flap on top for extra contact and it works even better, you get a firm heal contact on top and bottom. Thanks you the best

    I've seen people put parafilm over a graft and then firmly secure it with an electrical tape. The electrical tape is fairly stiff, but also has a little bit of flexibility. Thanks for the video! Excellent explanation as usual.

    • @JSacadura
      @JSacadura  4 роки тому +6

      Hi. Thanks for your comments. Electrical tape is a valid alternative, used on its own, and many people use it. I just don't like to use it very much as it may introduce unknown adhesives (depending on the brand) in those delicate cut tissues, so i prefer other more inert alternatives. Also, the materials that i am using let the graft breathe while keeping the scion moisture in (namely the Parafilm). Covering it with electrical tape would be detrimental to that objective.

      Hola! Hay cinta aislante de varios espesores, cuando vaya a comprarla, compre además de color blanco para que no concentre la luz solar produciendo sobre calentamiento en el injerto. No use cinta aislante en el peral ni en el manzanero, el adhesivo produce daños en la corteza. Saludos desde La Plata, Argentina.

    • @JSacadura
      @JSacadura  4 роки тому

      Hi. Thanks for your comment. Beware that propagating fig from seed is not a good idea. Most likely you will get a caprifig that will produce inedible figs - see my video on the subject of fig pollination - ua-cam.com/video/kctIFkVaZQs/v-deo.html - min 5.48 . Fig are usually propagated by cuttings or air layers.

    Gracias por su cuidadoso trabajo de divulgación. Este año me he propuesto injertar varios árboles que por unas razones no cumplían su cometido. Después de ver sus videos , que han sido de grandísima ayuda, he comenzado la temporada con.los injertos de corteza y corona. A fecha de hoy la gran mayoría están brotando.
    Los más curiosos son algunos que por equivocación los puse con la púa invertida, es decir , con las llemas en dirección al patron, me he dado cuenta cuando han brotado. Me inclino a pensar que si se aplica bien la técnica con cortes precisos en su fecha y el material adecuado, el sentido de la púa , no tiene tanta importancia. Creo que la sabía se trasloca y puede ser interesante para aplicarlo intencionadamente algunas veces.
    Espero se entienda mi explicacion y comentario.
    Gracias de antemano, y un gran saludo.

    • @JSacadura
      @JSacadura  3 роки тому

      El sentido de la púa tiene importancia porque la circulación de la savia se hace con más dificultad y suele provocar el fallo total del injerto. En casos en que el injerto sobrevive es habitual provocar una situación de enanismo en la planta resultante. Un saludo.

    Hi, I am enjoying your videos and find them to be a good source for learning. I live in the Southeastern US, and we get about 60 inches of rain each year; More if a hurricane passes by. Please share about fig varieties which resist splitting, souring, and hold up in rain well. A shot showing the ostiole would be nice also. Thank you.

    • @JSacadura
      @JSacadura  4 роки тому +2

      Hi. I am also in a zone that has lots of rain every year. Most fig varieties spoil over here and don't resit rain well. I have several varieties that are new and will probably resist better the rain but i'm still in the process of analyzing them so I can't do any recommendations yet. Maybe In September/October I have more data and can even make a video on the subject. Stay tuned.
