WoW! Thank you so much for the info. This saved me such a Headache trying to google the differences and what route I am suppose to take. I really do not want to get my RE License so I am going the DFPI route. Thanks a ton!

Thank you for clarifying the process. I wanted to ask if it is necessary to obtain an employer sponsorship to finalize the application process?

You do not need a sponsor to go through the process, you will need one to activate the license prior to starting to originate loans. We have plenty of companies who are hiring and can an introduction once you have passed at no cost.

So based on what you’re saying, if I already have a Real Estate license and just wanted to also do the loan portion too for my clients, I just need to get the DRE licensing for it right?

Yes, you would need to provide an ABA disclosure upfront and there are a few other nuances but mostly, yes. There is a 20 hour class you must take of course to get the license and then you would need an employer sponsor. Feel free to call the office if you have additional questions at 317 566 0425 and anyone can assist you.
