I love ballroom dancing. Especially the Waltz. I used to ballroom dance when i was younger. I have not been able to in many years as i am now in a wheelchair. I miss it so much and love watching it.
It's not the end of the world, if you're in a wheelchair. There, are some dances, that can be performed in a wheelchair. I know how you feel, although I don't really need to use a wheelchair, only a walking frame, but it's still disability. :) Wish you all the best!
I'm learning to be the cool guy in everyones dreams that will know and ask to waltz with them. Edit: I’m cringing at this comment but the good news is I did end up dancing with someone so that was nice.

Excellent Video clip! Excuse me for butting in, I would appreciate your initial thoughts. Have you ever tried - Miyyan Wenacob Bulldozer (should be on google have a look)? It is an awesome exclusive guide for learning the rumba and other popular ballroom dances minus the hard work. Ive heard some super things about it and my work buddy at last got great success with it.
I've watched how to make bread, make Pune needle baskets, create dress patterns, how to train a hamster(I don't have a hamster), how to have a g spot orgasm, learn French, I accidentally got hooked on a 52 episode Chinese series, I watched time lapse vids of fish eating a cucumber slice just to name a few....this quarantine has sent me to some weird and wonderful places all whilst staying home 🙃🤣
I still remember the first time I danced waltz properly, it was magical. On the shores of vistula, a modern city towering over me and the cold wild waters below my feet. The sky over me was covered in stars as I slowy did the box step, trying not to stumble on the sand. It would've been the most romantic thing I've ever done except... I danced it with a buddy of mine cuz my crush ditched me

Me and my boyfriend are learning how to dance the waltz in this is a good practice so I actually know what I'm doing and technically this is our first date this kind of helping me not be so nervous
@@a.a.s.3799 I mean... some people don’t go on dates before they establish relationships, sooo. They could’ve known their boyfriend through school or something and maybe they never got the chance to have a proper date. Or maybe they’re a long distance relationship and they just now met up.
Quarentine has hit me so hard I’ve been watching Barbie movies and in one of them they were waltzing and I tried copying them so I searched this up😂😂I need help
They did a great job. In a beginner video, they did the male and female parts seperately, then together. During the video of them dancing, one could see both sets of feet moving to his count. And- he explained the 'up' and 'down' element to the waltz which no one explains!! Great job!! And all in 5 minutes!! Actual waltz music one might hear ballroom dancing might have helped- but great job!
find a class that doesn't require you to have a partner. I found a class through my local parks and rec. I also found a studio that doesn't require a partner, but I'm doing the class through parks and rec because it's cheaper. Good Luck!
This brings me straight back to childhood standing on my father's shoes on the dance floor as he taught me the Box Step; hopefully dads today do the same with their daughter.
Thank you so much for posting this! It's the first time I've been able to follow. Usually dance instructors go too fast and don't show you both sides. Love the fact that you count during the practice too. Lovely dancing couple. Merci beaucoup!
Guys, girls love it when you can sweep us off our feet with these kinds of dances. It both comes as surprise, and very romantic. We all know that part Where I come from, people seem to have forgotten these dances (only preserving them for "fancy" parties which also comes rarely, and even then the slow dances come random, penguin waddle movements). So if I ever meet a guy who can dance like the classics, I'd be interested for sure. I don't like the modern sweet dance where everyone waddled like penguins (from experiences in prom, everyone did just that)
I’m a guy and I was just on a trip to St Louis with some friends of mine and we were up from 11 pm to 3 am in a conference room in the hotel dancing and for it being my first time doing the waltz with a woman, I had butterflies in my stomach especially being that close it was a whole new experience so I’m conclusion miss I absolutely agree with you from a male perspective it’s the same
You are not alone in not caring for the modern dances. Today's dances are sex moves, and it's disgusting. I've heard many women say they feel the same, they're afraid to admit it.
This video changed my life. I have never recovered nor fallen ever since. I owe my life to the 3 minutes and 39 seconds I watched before I turned off the video
Little help, O’ internet? I want to learn as many ballroom dances as possible for my future bf and me to dance to, so what other ones are there to learn?
Thank you so much ! I always imagine i can dance “Waltz” in the living room with the one i love some day in the future. Even though i’m still single, i love to practice myself 😂 This video is so useful !
I am to dance with my granddaughter at her wedding next month. I've known their wedding date for over a year so I've had plenty of time to go through my extensive digitized song library to find a song. My favorite music is doo wop and as I was listening to a song called "You're Not Too Young" by Charles McCullough & The Silks (rare and very unusual!) I realized that it is in 3/4 time - which means it a waltz! The song seemed appropriate (she's 26) and I really like it - but I've never waltzed in my life - and neither has she. So here I am - seeing If I/we can pull it off. Let the practicing begin!
Watched this together with my hubby this morning and within a few minutes we were waltzing together. When we finally stopped looking at our feet and looked up at each other we both just grinned together. Sweet little stay home date
I like your video because you totally understand the beginner to watching you from the back is important not like the other video they always face to camera and which is so confusing.
My dad used to bring me to a nearby manor close to my childhood home, he would have me dance on his feet in the ballroom when I was a toddler, now I wish to learn the waltz properly so I can dance with him one more time :)
Because of how baggy your pants are, my husband is having a hard time knowing and remembering which leg he is supposed to bend when going up and/or down. It would better to show what you are doing if your pants hugged you legs a bit more.
And then again... If the point is for your body to go slightly down, you can't seriously expect the foot hanging in the air to be any help, can you? Have you ever tried logic? It's a neat trick, thinking... I'm sure you will get used to it if you practice.
This is great! I miss ballroom dancing. My wife doesn't know how. Could you perhaps make some other ballroom basics videos? A dear friend of mine taught me some basic dances at age 24, which is pretty late for someone who grew up in a small village in Northern Germany, since it's traditionally done at age 16 for confirmation lessons (but since I never been baptised, I obviouslly wasn't confirmised neither back then). Now, I personally prefer the Discofox just a bit over the waltz, because it's a bit more fun to me, but still: Said friend basiclly just saying "we gonna start by teaching you the waltz" before doing so in a schoolyard while we where in job training with no music what so ever and all while having some people unfamiliar with the dynamics of our friendship commenting on the pure randomness of it all is quiet the precious memory. Btw: Her teaching me Discofox was just as fun: because she just basiclly walked up to me, said a very similar thing to the waltz line and we dance Discofox in the barn of her family's farm moments later (and judging by another friend, who just watched as it all went down, it didn't look half bad which actually makes me feel proud for some reason)... I always wanted to learn the waltz with another friend of mine back when I was 16, but we had a falling out before we really ever did that and so I always told myself I never wanted to learn to dance, because I wouldn't have enjoyed it anyways, turns out: I actually enjoy dancing a whole lot and it's somewhat fitting that I learned it from someone who I just share this great chemistry with, and we basiclly did from the day we first met, just one year ago... So yeah, seems like evrything in life will turn out right at some point
So, i just found out that my girlfriend never attended any of her high school prom. She's 25 now and I'm trying to learn how to waltz so i can give her a proper dance.
I'm baffled by the choice of clothing on the instructor's behalf. Deep black pants and tshirt means nobody can see any detail on the guy's movements. What was he thinking?
He's the professional. Not you. Pretty sure he's more knowledgeable at this topic. Btw, you can literally see all of the details you need. It's a waltz. It's not hard. Learned it in highschool
