    Here is a little feedback from a very satisfied X8 owner, which might apply to the X9. Among other small changes after using the bow for a couple of years, I bought a Scott archery release (Quick-Shot @ $45) as the stock Sanlida velcro strap was getting very worn. Later on I bought a Scott strap only ($25) and re-mounted the stock Sanlida release on it, so I have a backup. I have to say that the stock Sanlida release mechanism compares equally to the Scott mechanism in terms of feel to this novice. And I removed the trigger return spring inside the Sanlida release as an experiment. It became an extremely light trigger, but still held firm at draw, similar to my Scott release.

    Thank you for the review!
    In new kits (received today) they cut the arrow rest brushes a little to work with the stock arrows, additionally they give you the same one as a replacement for free!
    They also put an additional hex key (it looks like a broken one) to loosen the block screw without draw a bow :)
    It’s my first bow, and I don’t see anything that costs additional 200$ for Bear cruzer G3 for example.)) Which you get without arrows, bag and release.))

    The hidden Allen bolt/screw can be loosened with the small cut-short Allen wrench. It'll fit in that little space

      You can get the X8. It's cheaper and almost the same

    It appears that the arrow rest that came with the bow would get vane clearance best with the cock feather in the 12 o'clock position rather than forcing the vanes to hit the brushes. I've heard they are now using shorter vanes to keep them from touching the rest now.

    2 things no one mentions when talking about Sanlida.
    First, they have been in business for the last 20 years and are a heavy hitter all over Asia.
    Second, they have been World Archery certified for at least the last 15 years and make Olympic quality bows. Hunting is a new endeavor for them and the affordability gap in the western market was their motivation.

    Definitely would recommend taking the bow to the local archery shop to get the rest set up, they will probably do it for free and you won’t have a tuning problem. Same goes for your setting up your second and third axis. Those are probably the two most important things for setting up a bow.

    It's considered more oldschool but you could put the arrow rest on front of riser if you had to make the arrows work

    Really detailed review. I have a recurve bow for a long time. I want to get into compound bow. This helps me a lot, thank you very much! What do you think about the new X10 i think the same company makes it.

    • @DaveWirth
      @DaveWirth  Рік тому +1

      I've never shot the X10. I saw some video's of people saying it's ok. Not quite as good as other companies flagship bows, but pretty close, and 1/3 the price

    You're supposed to position the arrow with the odd vane up for the stock arrow rest, not opposite. You'll ruin the brushes.

    • @DaveWirth

      Like at 9:38 ? It didn't matter how i rotated the nock, it interfered.

    • @robertwong2412
      @robertwong2412 9 місяців тому +2

      @@DaveWirthThe odd vane is not vertically up. Your vanes are not supposed to touch the brushes, only the shaft. That's why there're gaps in the brush to allow your vanes to avoid the brushes. Your nock orientation is wrong. Twist the nock so the string is lining up with the odd vane.

  • @davefinnie1771
    @davefinnie1771 2 місяці тому

    Your vane orientation is odd at 9:46 . The green vane should surely be pointing up. The vanes are supposed to be in gaps between brushes, not go though then like in a whisker biscuit.

    I spent like 1450 bucks on a darton consequence 2 and all the fixings. I shoulda bought the x8 and added a whisker bisquit dragon 10s and a set up I woulda saved 1000 bucks

      I don't know. We did have a turkey lay eggs in the back corner of our yard last June. But typically only see them in the spring.

    What diffirence between X8 and X9?

    • @DaveWirth
      @DaveWirth  Місяць тому +1

      Not a whole lot.
      The riser is a little different, but same size.
      There's slightly nicer add-ons.
      But they are basically the same and shoot the same.
      Although the Sanlida 10 is much better for a mid to advanced shooter.
      But the X8 is good for everyone.

    Hi thanks for the informative video. From your experience with Dragon 8 & 9 which would you recommend for wild board hunting. Wat arrow to match with.thanks

    • @DaveWirth
      @DaveWirth  10 місяців тому +1

      Dragon 8 is fine. Not much difference.
      Although i've never done wild boar hunting. I'd watch the Hunting Public or Ranch Fairy video's about broadheads for wild boar's. I like the cut-on-contact broadheads.
      And i use a 100 grain insert - around 450 grain arrow - about 18% FOC. My arrows are 320 spine.
      I use these: amzn.to/4bEoV5n
