My man you do not need any words when you just put yourself out there with so much pure, raw emotion. It's a joy because it is just so real. Now you're on the Jacob train we listeners need to know if you know about Dirty Loops. It's a natural progression, those who love Jacob love Dirty Loops and vice versa. Jonah the singer (amazing vocalist) for Dirty Loops is good friends with Jacob. For Jacob, you really do need to listen to "Moon River." And while for Dirty Loops there simply are NO bad songs, jump in with both feet and try "Next to You." You will be amazed and that's a promise.
Cool reaction; dude is an alien. Really cool that you reacted to this one (a lot of people skip it for some reason, but it's the one that made Quincy Jones get in contact with him). Please tape ALL of your reactions to Jacob and post :-) Also check out Louis Cole (e.g., Overtime - Live Band Sesh)
Oh man, thanks for the wholesome support! I don't know how they would skip it.. it's obviously really damn good! They just don't know man... they dont :D :D Also i've added this "Overtime" baby to the list. - Moon River comin tonight!
I’ve said this before. This is a good example of watching a savant operating at their best. Like imagine watching Mozart perform his stuff back in the day level shit.
Love your reactions! Collier IS brilliant, I'd recommend you check out his collab with Jonah Nilsson of Dirty Loops at the Montreaux Jazz Festival in a UA-cam video doing this exact Stevie Wonder cover. You'll not only see an AMAZING performance, but you'll see how Collier does his harmonies. I don't want to pop anyone's bubble, but he plays a keyboard that maps his voice in real-time to the chords and runs he's playing. It's a bit deceiving for him to show 5 Jacobs appearing to be harmonizing but I assure you he's not actually doing that (again, The Montreaux video will show you his very legit "trick"). In some of Jacob's earlier videos, you see him playing just about every conceivable traditional instrument as well as singing harmonies, all cleverly filmed to have him walking around and among the other Jacobs in the scene. Again, brilliant!
Great stuff. Have you seen Moon River? Possibly his most overwhelming song. They're all alien level to me, but that one in particular feels like it's pushed music ahead 100years. 👍🤘
In the recent BBC documentary feature on Jacob Collier, Jacob talks about the moment he released his "Don't You Worry About A Thing" into the world...and how it caught the attention of people like Herbie Hancock and Quincy Jones...Here is that part of the documentary: ua-cam.com/video/ERvd5QjupSU/v-deo.html
I've actually been notified about the loops a little while back on the other videos. Haven't heard them yet, but im seriously excited now cuz you guys are teasin' me! :D Im positive it's gonna sound tight! :D Also Moon River, comin out tonight!
@@imstankface hell yeah, appreciate it! Dirty Loops will give you that "old french cheese with a touch of tennis shoe" odor, I'm sure you'll have the stank!
@@imstankface Ha, ha, ha. Yeah, we be teasin' but once you hear the Loops you'll understand why. And like I said Loops and Jacob just appeal to a similar audience. People who enjoy good, eclectic music. Can't wait for your reactions. Thanks.
Oh man, that was not too shabby was it? As the other guy commented, your reaction makes explanations about what was good pretty redundant. Keep on truckin'!
Its like that says, no matter how good you are at something, there's always some asian kid out there better than you. :D In this case, there's always a Jacob out there better than us. :D
