Home made meal for your dog - DIY
Ingredients
1 turkey neck (or meat of your choice)
1 grated carrot (&/or cucumber, Pumpkin, beetroot, sweet potato)
25gms yellow / brown / red or mix lentil or chickpeas
30gms grain (couscous / rice/ bulgur wheat/ oats)
1/2 tsp of turmeric
Method
1. Soak lentils and grains overnight. Makes them soft and easy to digest. Lentils are a good source for protein, fibre & iron.
2. Wash the meat with water. (You can cook meat with bones for better quality broth and throw away the bones afterwards as bones can be harmful for animals. (Choking etc) Bone marrow and cartilage is fine)
3. Grate carrot (or any other veggies you use)
4. Put the meat, veggies, lentil/ chickpea, grains / rice in a cooking bowl. Fill it up with water.
5. Put the cooking bowl on heat.
6. Add some turmeric powder (turmeric has antiseptic, anti inflammatory and many other benefits)
7. Cook everything until soft. (You can check by poking the meat with a fork and the meat should be soft)
8. Once cooked, remove the meat off the bone and serve it after it cools.
9. Add some coconut oil while serving (good for fur, helps digestion, probiotic, eliminates odour are amongst many benefits)
Optional- you can add a raw egg when you serve . Dogs can be fed good quality raw egg as per dog nutritionists.
Processed food is not always as nutritious as we want it to be.
It also can be expensive.
Home made food covers good quality, nutrition and allergies. It can also be catered to your dogs need which is convenient .
Big Pro- Their poop is less stinky. Processed food usually causes that side effect.
This kind of home cooked meal can also be fed to cats. You can replace meat with fish if you like and do some research on veggies / grains good for cats. Tiramisu doesn’t digest quinoa or couscous so we don’t give her that.
Disclaimer - Always check with your vet before you start a new diet. Also, when you change your dog’s diet completely, always start slow, observe your dog. And give in small quantities. Different dogs react differently to different ingredients just like us.

Take out bones bc the small bones are not good for her intestinal track you don't know how effected it is by the paralysis. Plus could get lodged in the throat. Add organ meat heart liver etc and be sure to add calcium.
