A rig, because a gimbal still makes its own decisions and suddenly want's to look in another direction than I. It is an indirect feeling. With a rig, it is all my decisions with very direct interaction with the movement.
Wow this is great! I'm planning on purchasing the Ronin-S gimbal for my XT3 but after seeing your rig, I'm not so sure. I'm not even sure if the Ronin-S can handle a cage with a battery grip and a whole bunch of accessories, but it should since it's made for heavier DSLRs.
Can you post a video on your handle hack? That's a great idea! I've been using a the intervalometer from Fuji and it's very corny to show up with this sweet caged up rig and a button taped to it :) Cheers!
Thanks Thomas. I've told SmallRig how to build this, and I know they are toying with one for Sony. But they are struggling a bit to make it work. Making one for Fuji is very easy, but I guess their priorities aren't in favour of the Fuji right now

@@PalleSchultz Haha during some jobs I have to shoot both video and photo ex. during fashion shoots we do photo and video for each outfit. Normally I use two cameras but I would like to use one camera if possible.
@@charlesnetzler2262 Then you should check out the X-T4 when it comes out. Video and stills are completely separate now and one flick of a switch will bring you to your preferred settings for both.

Having issues with the x-t3 not being stabilized. The stabilized lens selection for video isn’t great. Does this rig help much? Could you show examples?

The video possibilities are very impressive. The new HLG mode has so much headroom that it is insane. But for smooth stuff, tripod and gimbals are a must. So if you want to punish your computer with high quality files, It in't all bad. But I can't help think of, how a X-H1 with the X-T3 hardware could do... It would be a monster.
Hey, I'm in the same boat. I need a hybrid camera for travelling and creating quality video and stills. Travelling as light as possible and in a van with solar so less batteries to charge the better, hence I want to avoid a gimbal and the IBIS of that XH1 is swaying me. Plus I'm on a Macbook pro on the road so will need to shoot in the smaller file sizes and not be able to take FULL advantage of the XT3 abilities, still an amazing camera and would be nice to have the best of I ever wanted to use them. Did you make your decision in the end? I'm still torn.
you can try this: put a 2,5mm trs jack in the trigger port, momentarily shorten tip and ground or tip and ring + ground or tip and ring, and notice what happens. The key is momentary.
@@PalleSchultz The flexible cable connected to the external monitor is not HDMI? I'm looking for one for X-H1 + Ninja V and Atomos cables, coiled, seem too rigid. Many flexible cables are HDMI 1.4, which is not good for future 10bit 4k60p.

I try not to overexpose. But find a compromise, that will benefit both high and low. I'm making a video about grading now, but also the settings.

They released a fix for the X-H1 regarding the 4GB limit, and have plans for doing the same for the X-T3.

Depends on what kind of shot you are trying to get.
@@itsjantore mostly moving images.. but when I searched most of the gimbals are not supported by FUJI XT3
You can use any gimbal with the xt3, but the follow focus or recording buttons may not be supported.

When the camera is set to shooting stills, the trigger will release the shutter.

What camcorder do you know of, that can do 4K DCI 60FPS 400MBit H265 10Bit internally with Eterna filmsimulation and do a 26MP timelapse as well? ;)
