A great family doing a great video. Thanks for the great adventures. ❤
Thanks mate. Appreciate that.
Another wonderful snow/ice adventure. We really enjoyed seeing Sophie and Toby on their rail trail bike ride.
Mike, the drone footage of our countries, winter wonderland in the 'hinterland', is amazing. And when you picked up that hoar frost, wow, so intricate and delicate. The meals you guys prepare and enjoy look so delicious and shows what can be achieved while living on the road in a small space. Well done Leopards.
thanks so much for that mate, we sure do live in a great place, it's a pleasure to show case it and it's pretty amazing to be out there living it.
Soph-your a legend on that bike 🌟
She does so 👍 good... We're all proud of her
Great to see the family sharing adventures which will last a lifetime. Thank you for sharing!
Thanks mate, so glad to have spent some time here during winter ❄️🥶
Awesome spot at Crows nest and surrounding places. Love riding the trail.
Great adventures, thanks for sharing👍
Toby, you rock young fella. Great clip leopards. Thanks.
Thanks, he's too fun that kid aye 😁
You are certainly making the regional look stunning through your videos with the Spring wonderland. Glad you are enjoying your trip. Thanks for sharing. Have a good week, safe travels cheers 🍻
Thanks mate it's stunning alright. This is was definitely winter though videos are 6 weeks behind currently, we were here 3rd of August... We love chasing the cold and being in quiet places.
That was a great episode. What a fantastic area. I've added it to our itinerary for next year. You guys cook up some great dishes. Yum.
Well done with cycling Soph. Great effort.
Thanks team. 😊
Well worth a good explore through here for sure. Bloody cold if your coming through in winter.
@leopardsgowild I think we'll be in South Island Feb through to May / June
Another great episode ' cool to see Soph n Toby adding excellent content ' cheers
yea mate, trying to get more of the family involved in the channel they are seeing more of the value and getting more amongst it which is great.
Naseby is a great camp at new years. the village puts on a duckrace for kids
is the duck race in the water race? or somewhere else? some of the places get pretty full in the summer aye, long daylight hours and plenty of heat.
Awesomeness 👌 thank you for sharing 😊
Thanks for watching and commenting. :)
Bloody legends! That looks awesomely awesome with all that ice/snow! Good on ya Soph 60ks! Great clip with a nice music score well done really enjoyed watching that with my whiskey next to the fire 😂 thanks for sharing lots of laughs! I hope you had a beer on the rail trail.
Thanks mate. Some fantastic scenery and peace and quiet through these parts. Such a great place to spend some time without rushing. Enjoy the whiskey and Wanaka mate.
Even Southland is warmer !
yep. Southland had a pretty good winter this year. The spring weather has arrived for us all at the moment though, wind and rain, and maybe some snow over the next few days.
Great video, thanks for sharing.
thanks a lot for watching and commenting.
We’re a bit late on viewing mate. Another epic watch. Thanks heaps and hi to the family from us.
Thanks bro. You guys came through here not to long ago anyway aye... a bit of curling action. Hope ya'll are doing well I'm sure you'll send me a pic of you guys on the coast with a mint sunset or something.
I'm jealous that I missed this area while travelling from Alexandra to Ranfurly at the same time you were there. Always next time. Great video.
Oh gutted, great spot, looks like we are headed back these ways this week looks like another good snow oppportunity coming, although I don't think the cold will linger anywhere near as long.
living the dream
Yea man we live the travel life, nice to share with the world
@@leopardsgowild Keep up the great work.
WOW Toby that viaduct must be one of the highest you have thrown rocks off , love seeing you have your wee adventures , reminds me of my childhood . Don't stop having fun .
He's had some epic rock throwing lately aye, he had an awesome one at St bathans off the top of that big cliff as well. He sure won't stop having fun, that would be impossible.
We have eaten at the Waipiata pub every time we have been in the area cycling the trail. Highly recommended.
Its got some epic food going on there aye, loved it... makes me think of travelling without kids lol...
Great to see you having such a good time. You should really go back to Waipiata during the Rail Trail season…….standing room only in the pub and you have to book to get a meal!
Standing room only sounds awful, I definitely like the quiet. It seemed all the locals turned up not long after we arrived atleast 20vehicles, so place seems to still see plenty of business
Lots of snowy adventures and another chance to have a go at curling 👏
Nice to see Toby enjoying his bike, that tunnel must have been an adventure.
Cheers mate. Toby is totally getting into the bike riding, His bike isn't the greatest but he makes do with it, he is always up for any adventure, such a fun kid.
Family time,, nice
Yea a nice quiet week that's for sure
Incredible filming as always, hope Toby doing ok 😢😊
Thanks... Toby is just great 😃👍
Great video. Stunning views. Well done on ice skating and curling. Money well spent and memories lasting forever. I’ve ridden part of that trail back in May. Not as cold as your adventure. Well done Toby on your skating skills. Loved watching you throw those rocks off the viaduct. Long way down. Enjoy your travels and stay safe. 🌞🤗🌞🤗
thanks. we love the Otago vibes, I could totally get into ice skating and curling if I lived down these ways, so much fun. the Viaduct is a great spot for rock throwing aye.
Watching from Singapore!
Eat some yum food for me... Love the South Asian cuisine
Great Video, my last trip to central Otago, was when i rode the rail trail, when I stopped at Waipiata, I realised, i was an acquaintance of the owner of the Pub! , thanks for sharing
the place has so much history aye, just the thought the place had enough need for railway through that country shows how busy things were back in the day.
Good morning Leopards. Just a heads-up, not sure exactly where you are, but Makarora Valley is getting more of the white stuff, tomorrow Sunday. On the forecast, the front looks to be hitting about 3pm through for the next 7-8 hours, with a 95% probability of accuracy. Stay warm folks. Atb.
@@bryanbadger6841 yea mate we're on the hunt for snow today... Probably go to St Bathans again
@@leopardsgowild A mate of mine living in the valley, sent a photo, yesterday of the snow falling while she was in her bush bath. Yeah it helps to be tough, and/or slightly mad.
So i guess Sunday will be a repeat for her.
Spot ya later.
Soph, what a legend!!! 60 km on a Amish bike in the chilly temps 🥶
ha ha ha ha on an Amish bike, had us cracking up... she's a tough tropper, and enjoys the journey.

Love this comment. Thanks Cam. Your a legend mate. We have a lot of banter within the family for sure and so so many inside jokes that we like to throw around in public lol... Trying to get the family behind the camera a bit more, part of this youtube adventure is having the memories of everyone at this stage in life and time to look back on in decades to come. Thanks for all the support as always and I've told Riley we need American acsent coming through lol...
@@leopardsgowild love u guys!!! Talk at yah soon! ❤️❤️❤️
Jades no fool👍🏼
shes to clever actually, watch out for the future.. But i'm guessing your refering to risking fate on the ice lol.
Great job Sophie 💯

Liz and Graeme have had that pub for sale for around 4years now and no takers. Does Bill still own the Crowesnest or has he managed to find a buyer. I hope the general store finds a new owner would be a shame if this town slips into oblivion. I’ll stick to visiting this area in the summer thanks 😂. Great vid 👌
yea mate Bill is still there property is still for sale, and priced reduced... Everything is for sale in the town, Crows Nest, Pub, shop, and accommadation. Pretty sad, I reckon it must be relatively busy in the summer, but was a ghost town while we were here.
Brilliant episode folks. Did you see the memorial to the named victims of a pretty major accident at Hyde.? Google search says 21 fatalities. During ww2. The driver who was the relief driver, was at fault. He was inebriated, um, actually pissed as a fart, and took the bend at a higher speed than the regulations allowed. Or more accurately, he forgot that you just can't argue with physics. The rail trail takes you past the memorial.
. Think I might have told you this before, but just lately I've been receiving from an Aussie firm, information online about their off road wagons. Think someone is sending me a message.??? Have to go there sometime. Thanks for sharing. Great editing. Cheers for now.
I don't recall the memorial although soph might have seen it... Those trains were awesome until something goes wrong aye, traffic event for back in those days
@@leopardsgowild g'day mate. I haven't seen the memorial, but I saw something on telly about the accident plus photos.
I think from memory, it's like a rock cairn, with the plaque attached. Names of the victims are included, I think.
Go to Google search.
However in real time, you won't be there.
Cheers mate.
Can't wait to see the videos because it looks like some parts of otago like Oturehua, Ranfurly and Naseby have gotten a very big dump today if thats where you are or are you in arrowtown or something.
@@Jordan-du6fu we missed it mate, we were in Fiordland
@@leopardsgowildI thought you said you were going back to Otago today or were the roads blocked or something
@@Jordan-du6fu na made it back to Otago today, but the snow has not lasted... We are hoping the next snow fall prediction is on track for Monday - tue.
@@leopardsgowildoh well good luck for next week 👍
@@Jordan-du6fu thanks mate, we are aiming for the snow.
Waipiata was a railway town plus the closest town to the Waipiata Boy's Home, so got a bit of traffic.
It amazes me the place used to be so busy it warranted having rail installed, seemed like a huge effort to put it through some of these places as well, tunnels, bridges, massive amounts of work.
@@leopardsgowild It was when there was a 40-mile limit on how far road could move product if in opposition to rail, even when I was there it was 150kms, we still had wool, beef and sheep going out and super phosphate coming in, and pallets of beer. The only ways in when the rail was being built was over the pigroot and the high train in through Straith Taieri.
@@kiwihib what about through Alexandra? or was that was to hard as well? Im fascinated with the area.
@@leopardsgowild The route through Straith Taieri was the same, you just dropped down a different side of Rock and Pillars mountain range, have you been down Alexandra to Roxbrough and Ranfurly to Outram yet.
@@kiwihib yes done those roads, haven't done the pig route yet though at all, and haven't made it past hyde, where Soph road her bike.
Toby 🪨s
can't stop that boy... Sometimes he carries those rocks for a km or more, just incase there isn't a better one.
@@leopardsgowild I know he does 👌🏼
Lot of snow on the awning… how is is water piping holding up with the cold weather?
Water pipes we're pretty cold and definitely frozen overnight but the days warmed up a bit. Awnings all good just don't let it get to heavy
Tell Toby to stop throwing dirty stuff into Ranfurly's drinking water. Was fun in summer when the dam ran dry you just got sludge out of your tap.
Is that the Nasby Dam? is that where Ranfurlys water comes from?
Thats grose, sludge out of your tap oh no... how long did that last for?
@@leopardsgowild Yes the Naesby Dam was the supply, and it lasted until the next heavy rain, you would have loved my railway house, my bathroom was attached to my back porch, was fun the morning I got up and had to do number two's all I heard was a thud, oh well I will flush that when I get home from work.
@@kiwihib oh no...
You don’t even seem to feel the cold
I think we appreciate it, always a lot different when you choose it compared it choosing you ooo
