- It’s show & tell time! First off I must thank twitter’s @ceresis64 for tracking down the DEBUG movie release schedule from the fine folks at Signature Entertainment UK. Turns out that the UK will get the movie before anyone else…that being Nov 3 on DVD and BluRay! I feel a bit frustrated that my fantastic fans know more about this than I, the writer and director or Jane, one of the film’s producers…but so goes moviemaking in today’s world. Anyway.. the show of the show and tell is that I received this absolutely incredible Stargate Atlantis original collectors box from a talented fellow by the name of Bryan Harris. Incredible work and I’ve got to thank Omar and John from Sea Shepherds for getting it to me.

I usually ask people to make donations rather than giving me little bits and bobs, half of which I have to donate or even (shudder) throw out. But this was such a standout beautiful piece of work and despite trying to persuade Bryan that I wasn’t worth it…I felt compelled to have it shipped over to me for the fan cave! Also a big thanks to twitter’s @Whovian99 for the Debug tshirt that is now in full rotation as part of my sorely limited fashions!
This guy looks just like that Rodney McKay guy from Stargate. Yes... I know it is the actor David Hewlett.
My favorite Dr. McKay quote would be: "Oh, I apologize for being the only person who truly comprehends how screwed we are!"

That's one of my favorites too! It's HOW he says it that makes it so grand! Yes, in this video, more than any other UA-cam videos he's done, *I can ONLY see Dr. Rodney McKay,* not David Hewlett, but then again, well, you get it.... David Hewlett is what makes Dr. McKay Dr. McKay. David Hewlett is one of those actors who truly creates his own character when acting, he makes the characters he plays HIS OWN, he puts a big part of himself into the character, rather than just attempting to act like someone else. That's why so many people admire his work.

yeah. Stargate: Atlantis and SG-1 are tied on the scale of awesomeness in my opinion.
I just finished watching all Stargate Atlantis again last nite. I think this is my 5th time around. I especially love that next to last episode.
Yeah, we all do. :( Can't believe they cancelled Atlantis just for Universe. Why couldn't they have both. Plus in this day and age a Stargate video game would be amazing (and yes I know there was a few years ago that were cancelled as well).

And now I've started watching Stargate Universe for the 3rd time around, on Comet TV. I think it too is really good, but so vastly different. I've never been able to describe why. I like to think that all these Stargate shows were inspired by the StarGate video game. I was a Defender person myself. Playing in a zone for hours, I just couldn't seem to tear myself away to play StarGate.
SG- Atlantis.... one of best sf-series and FAR to few episodes !! Realy loved you as "rodney" !!!
You deserve it, David! For the long years you have given life to a character we all love...I am glad you are so happy about it...And I very much appreciate the guy who has sent it to you!
Was definitely expecting you to open the box and it to have the stargate even horizon inside.
He talks exactly like rodney, same expressions, everything, maybe thats way the character was so good, he didnt need to act at all, it was just him (except rodney could read ancient)
The most obvious character trait not present in the actor, present in the character, is the incredible arrogance. I often wondered how it is possible such a character could have any friends.🤣
@@arty2k another obvious character trait (but unlike the arrogance, this one is actually shared with the actor itself) is his incredibly fast-talking... Another actor who shares this trait is Michael Shanks... in SGA season 5 the latter appears in the mid season double episode as a guest and both share several scenes together and they are pushing each other in terms of who can speak the fastest... up to the point, that on the audio commentary of the DVDs they said that the writers of the show did a couple of takes and then basically threw their hands in the air and were like: ok, we give up... you guys are talking so fast, we don't actually understand what you are saying anymore - and WE WROTE this stuff!!!
They actually had trouble with the length of the scenes and thus the length of the episodes, because they didn't anticipate how fast the two of them would manage to get through their dialogues and the scenes ended up being too short xD
David I wish I could have the enthusiasm you have with life. You are awesome how you haven't let life break you down.
Congratulations on the release of Debug in the UK, can' wait to see it when it's released in the States. Wow that was a beautiful gift will be a great addition for the FanCave!
You should ask Michael Shanks what the Ancient writing means! He should be able to translate it!
Holy cow, that is awesome! Was half expecting an Ancient device to be in that box, like the personal shield or something. In any case, that design work is outstanding and now I have to listen to the Atlantis theme song once more. :D

That is amazing!! I love seeing people's art and what they create!! You can really tell what kind of effort people put into it and how much they care about a show or even just art in general when they make something like that, awesome!!!

honestly I miss the show. I love ships and tech associated with advanced space travel, but Stargate was and is so much more than just that. hell, the styling of the 304 even inspired the hanger bays on a couple ships in designed myself years ago.

I have to admit, hearing Dave say that he can't read Ancient was actually kind of weird since in Atlantis he's pretty much the go-to guy for anything and everything related to Ancient technology. Maybe that just makes me a huge geek, but hey ho I'm ok with that.

Been binge-watching Atlantis this past week. A show that should have gone more seasons that it did. SG-1 and SG:Atlantis are my favs!

I want stargate back :.( i have to be honest i actually cryed the Day i heard they stop making stargate... and i cryed even more the Day i Seen the last Episode of it. it does Not matter to me if sga sg1 or sgu i loved it all David why have they done that :.( i know its long ago now but why they never went to Start a New stargate original keept making sgu it had so much potential... im sick atm. so i started whatching it again. i started with sg1 i still miss the time where i waited days for the next episode... I still enjoy whatching it and i guess i speak for Most of the Fans we would all love to See a Comeback. thanks for the time you spent on the Show

Idtelos to be fair, he did blow up a solar system, destroy several zpms, accidentally poison an alternate universe, drop atlantis into an asteroid field, create a hyperspace drive that shifted though universes infinitely till they died...
Rodney was amazing but really destructive by accident
So he basically did ANYTHING BUT ONE THING: Trying to save the Franchise.
The Stargate Franchise has not been allowed to die, the Fans didnt allow it - but when will there be more remains the Question.
The Wraith-Storyline is by no means finished, and it couldnt possibly be finished in one or two Episodes, mabye not even in a full Season.
Someone needs to do something about the State of this Franchise.
And i hope they will know that SGU was the absolute and completly Opposite of the Direction the Franchise should go to. I hope they are aware of this.
Otherwise Doom will follow.
Stargate Universe is meant to be compatible with SG-1 and Atlantis at same time! Monetize them all from production with reboot and continuation at the same time for people/spectators that have never watched Stargate, well that sounds like difficult.
(Also most of the people today day because of how society programs us, Auto-Rejects anything Mind-Opening, therefore why watch series about aliens if aliens doesnt exist and anyone that consider the posibilitiy is stupid and who consider there are Aliens and advanced technologies actually somewhere then those we are crazy... shame of humans and how week our race is without proper education.. )
And David here is keeping the Stargate spirit alive. True fans we keep rewatching the franchise over and over again for ever :) its not only mind-opening, funny, entertaining and original but also archives one more goal: keep the spectator conscious (just my point of view)

Sg-1 and Atlantis are my two favorite shows of all time....Sadly, though, SGU was a completely embarrassing pile of Garbage. McKay was a very fun character that I believe Atlantis Could not have been as great without....Thank you for the great character.

Reminds me of a wooden Japanese box my dads coworker would bring candy in when he came to the US to visit when I was a kid. Still very cool though.
