Right now, people at IETF, after reviewing this video, are either shocked beyond belief or laughing hysterically. No one, i mean no one, has ever thought to make parody of IETF and RFC, the sacred institution of computer networking.
Before today I would’ve said any attempt at joking about such a topic would be overboard, and the community would revolt. Good thing that didn’t happen, and they ended just giving us some tasty treats at what the future has in store. I’m all in on #RFC10k!
You can bet your ass that they will be reusing the beginning of this video unironically for any internal conferences they have. KRAZAM spent the big bucks on animation, and the IETF ain't gonna let it go to waste.
Unfortunately, it looks like Robert Downey jr is out of the role after being attacked by a rabid Poodle. I heard it was a pretty gruesome attack causing severe internal bleeding around the heart.
Samir Moon is my mentor. He is a true visionary. He once closed one of my PRs without any explanation and I realized only then, that that is what a true leader does
Can’t wait for Qubitmania and the Multicast of Madness. Heard they signed timothee chalamet to play the wave function of the universe. Like to see the hacks at IEEE pull something like that off
Wow, great kickoff guys! IMAP v POP is such an ambitious crossover. Truly a gamechanger for the email communication medium, can't wait to see how it shakes things up.
That was excellent! I was grinning the whole time. I said "Filezilla" right before the logo appeared and just burst out laughing. Your comedy translated really well to the live medium. You're so brilliant! Keep it up!
Such a beautiful video, my hearth was filled with joy after hearing about RFC 9899, but that RFC 10000 teaser is the best thing that has happened in my life, it's something I'm going to email to my grandchilds when I'm older, and write them how it changed the world.
Breathtaking. I can only describe the joy I felt when RFC 8955 was drafted. My mind wandered endlessly about the ways I could filter traffic from the IP header ALONE. RFC 9488 makes me feel alive again.
Word is out that Samir wants to hang around in the IETF community till the last possible IPv6 address is allocated. I mean, you are one lucky contributor if the man has never roasted you for the nonideal naming convention in your PR or that unhandled edge case you foolishly thought exists and dared to open a GitHub issue for, but he is one dedicated man who keeps on giving. Truth be told, we didn't deserve him, just as we didn't deserve RFC 2324 Hypertext Coffee Pot Control Protocol or RFC 2795 Infinite Monkey Prorocol, but we got him anyway. I'm so looking forward to his next Internet Draft, which I heard he is working on in his free time and should be published and indexed as a standard by early 2050s. When that day comes I'll pop a cold one and celebrate doing crazy things, like changing my personal IMAP server port to a nonstandard one, among other things.
it's so assuring to see that the RFC crossover of IMAP and POP is being spearheaded by Samir. I can't imagine a more qualified, passionate IETF enthusiast in the open source community. I believe it was bjarne stroustrup who once said "Samir is the man"
so exciting ! lately the RFC has felt creatively bankrupt focusing on new protocols no one cares about , so glad to see them return to the roots with the FileTransferProtocol !
the fact that I never clicked on this video until now because I thought it wasnt a meme speaks volumes about how well these videos blend into the corpo world
Wow amazing literal goosebumps at times the power of editing and sincere presentation implementations. Modern standards making really has trained us to get goosebumps on cues hasn't it; I forget which RFC's detail audio swells and video title transitions though. Imagine if everyone cared this MUCH all the time for the rules that let the modern world EXIST. There'd be EVEN more RFC content the SU would take a LIFETIME to consume let ALONE implement!!!
I know IMAP and POP are two of the biggest email protocols, but it’s sad that they get all the attention at announcements like these. I was glad to see that JMAP got two smaller RFCs this year (RFC 9404 and RFC 9425), even though it didn’t make it into the crossover. I hope JMAP gets a bigger role in Phase 6.
Your enthusiasm has made me so excited that I went out and purchased a new i9 computer. I’m expecting FTP to work perfectly with my copy of Windows ME.
I have a vision. I have... a dream. I climbed the tallest peak, and amongst the fog and cloud, I reached up to the heavens and in my hands was a technical specification document detailing a RFC... to the RFC itself.
"Will they or won't they?" These whiteboard sessions are no-holds-barred, asking the tough questions. Love the level of detail you pour into these, always amazed with your depth of understanding and the ability to make light of it. I'd pontificate here but I've got an ISO timestamp issue to deal with.
Incredible. Such a huge milestone for IETF. I can't wait to hear what Jason has to say about the massive phase 5 drop. Honestly it could be a game changer. I'm about to sell all my NFTs and move them into IETF shares.
I would be hyped about the interrupt data chunk joining the IETFSCTPSU but we all knew it was gonna happen. Phase 5 needs an Iterrupt Data Chunk and SCTP is the only protocol without one.
"Do I look like an idiot to you?" burst out laughing, this is so intense, the MC weren't lying when they told me to hold onto my seat for this RFC sneak peek!
3 Krazam videos in a year? they said it wasn't possible. but it was.
He has delivered value, but at what cost?
Unicode Consortium could never...
Omega star finally got their shit together and started supporting ISO timestamps
@@friedpetrol We're finally one milestone closer to being able to know who the birthday boy is

There are April Fool's RFCs, but this is a nice addition to the IETF universe.
You can bet your ass that they will be reusing the beginning of this video unironically for any internal conferences they have. KRAZAM spent the big bucks on animation, and the IETF ain't gonna let it go to waste.
I am a teapot.

Her: What kind of comedy do you like?
Me: it's complicated
Can’t wait for Robert Downey jr. as TLS handshake.
Can’t wait to find out who’s playing Diffie Hellman for this exchange, that’ll be the key!
Not enough people are able to not enjoy this joke as should be able not to.
Gotta be Sam Rockwell playing them both.
Who's playing Ralph Merkle?
Unfortunately, it looks like Robert Downey jr is out of the role after being attacked by a rabid Poodle. I heard it was a pretty gruesome attack causing severe internal bleeding around the heart.

Lol. This is the kind of shit that made Steve Jobs a visionary (when people said "psychopath", they meant it in the kindest way possible)
LOL Krazam truly brings together every single person in the world who understands his humor
The most realistic part of this video is the minimal drop in framerate and the somewhat pixelated quality of a livestream.
it's like the cherry on top of the cake
The level of attention to detail is unmatched. True professionals.
I love that the audience was originally super hesitant, and then around the halfway point really started getting into it
They put a vocal isolation plugin on the first half to make it extra awkward
@@CollinShook Lmaoooo that’s fantastic
It's hard to make humor about engineering standards, but it's harder to make it THAT well for 14 minutes straight.
I haven't been this hyped since RFC 2549!
RFC 2549 IP over Avian Carriers with QoS lol
Usually kids want to become a fireman, pilot or maybe even an astronaut. But once they see this, they're going to be an RFC contributor 😎
i laughed so hard at this
No joke, I would actually love a full time job writing RFCs.
nah when i grow up i want to be a tls handshake too
Amen. That was me in the late 90s. I used to read every RFC thinking it would help me understand how the internet really worked.
BABY STOP EVERYTHING KRAZAM UPLOADED!!!
So cool to see you guys live
God. I love Krazam man. been a fan since excel
Can’t wait for Qubitmania and the Multicast of Madness. Heard they signed timothee chalamet to play the wave function of the universe. Like to see the hacks at IEEE pull something like that off
HES A PERFECT FIT, coming from his acting experience playing the dialup sound in 56k lost but not forgotten
People say Timothee Chalamet is everywhere these days, but after this he will be everywhen too.
Wow, great kickoff guys! IMAP v POP is such an ambitious crossover. Truly a gamechanger for the email communication medium, can't wait to see how it shakes things up.
I wasn't going to watch 14min of this. But then I did and I have no regrets.
Your videos are genuinely the best on the net. Never stop.
We need an official reboot of the legendary RFC 1149, IPoAC!
What a joyful watch. Was smiling all the way through. Hyped for RFC 10 000!
That was excellent! I was grinning the whole time. I said "Filezilla" right before the logo appeared and just burst out laughing. Your comedy translated really well to the live medium. You're so brilliant! Keep it up!
😂 I did the same thing lmao
I teared up watching this. It's like you http GET me, Krazam. Bless your soul.
I feel inspired. I feel encouraged. But most importantly, I feel loved.
I love RFC 9483!!! Been waiting for it for so long and its finally here 🚀

Couldnt have predicted RFC 10000 holy shit
THIS IS TOO FUCKING REAL.
what a time o be alive
It took me 8+ minutes to find out if this is satire or not. I may not be a smart man, but this was wonderfully done.
I don't blame you, the quality is absurdly good for a meme about IETF
😂
Same
Holy shit, their shitposts are of such high tier and production value it's insane. LET'S GO PHASE FIVE!
"Gang, this is crazy. Two protocols in one RFC, it's never been done before" LOL
Highest quality niche humor content I’ve stumbled upon. Hands down.

Love that their parody of tech culture has just become tech culture itself ❤

ART. I am amazed at how well done this is
As per usual its been a hilarious video that perfectly encapsulates the distopia that is software. I am cry laughing yet again.
Binge-watched whole channel. Great!
I say this with as much love as possible, you two are like a power couple of Gigachad and Soyjak. And you shit on Marvel. Bravo.

This isn't too far off the presentations we had in school. One of the guys in the group never did any of the work but was waaay into video editing.
