- Here is a breakdown of the testing and tuning results on our new 2025 MT-07, as well as the huge shortcomings we found in the stock ECU mapping and what we have done to address those maps!
The end result is a MASSIVELY smoother running engine and a MUCH more enjoyable riding experience, with significant improvements in horsepower and torque.
Our Mail In ECU Flashing Service for these bikes is available for only $349.99 at 👉 2WDW.com 👈
If you have any questions about tuning your 2025+ MT-07, feel free to email us at support@2wheeldynoworks.com!
For owners not in the US asking about local turners, I'm in New Zealand and have flashed 3 Yamaha's with these guys, each time it was Nate that replied to my emails, he needs details of your set up and ECU serial number, here in New Zealand as a rule we have the European model, he needs to make sure he sends you the correct file via email. Buy a FT ECU turning kit, I've purchased both from FT ECU and Revzilla, done both bike side and bench, bench is easier (not that bike side is hard) Nate was also excellent as answering questions via email ... On buying the benching kit, just a note about FT ECU, they were fast to ship but have never answered an email, their forum is junk and you need to wait for the hardware before setting up an account to use their sortware, Nate will need the email you used to set that up. other than the lack of support on the end of FT it works well and very easy to do, just watch a youtube video.
Yep im in NZ, how do I get hold of you?
How much did it cost you nzd for the flash tunes?
He doesn't seem to answer @@leksmcdonald
@@leksmcdonald With out knowing the make and model , ball park FT ECU bike side kit is $380 usd and the tune $200 usd . the kit has shipping on it, the file they email. About $1100 NZD landed (two transactions no GST), this can get much better if you are doing more than one bike, though the data link cable can only be registered to one account, but can be used with as many ecu's as the harness plugs it matches. You will still need another harness, licence and tune file, 2nd bike and each after will be about $650 NZD. I am not a shop or reseller in anyway, I just do as much of my own service work myself as I can, a few UA-cam videos makes doing this somewhat easy. There is a dyno place somewhat close to me, they quoted $1600 NZD starting for a basic tune per bike. 2WDW and the FT kit has worked very well for me, ymmv.
Good, I can stop going to M4's website every other day to see if there's an updated exhaust for the 2025. I'll just buy the 2024 version and get it over with, then I'll be reaching out to you as well! Thank you!
That was exactly my gripe, it's nice to finally know :)
You know, it would be really interesting if you could have a video/podcast with an engineer from one of the major brands and discuss why they, and other makers, tune their stock bikes the way that they do. Long shot but not impossible. I’m sure a fair number of people there are just as much into motorcycles a we are.
The answer is almost always emissions on the fueling side. As for the twitchy throttles, THAT is something I would love to know. Every bike known for twitchy throttles feels so much better after a flash, even if you gain literally zero power.
My CLX700 was terribly twitchy at super low speeds when I got it. I went from stock to exhaust, intake, and tune. I barely noted the power increase (pulled 77hp at a dyno day), but all the twitch was gone.
They're factory tuning may suck, but it gives you a job. Unfortunate for those who don't have access to you or someone like you.
Agreed. Also unfortunate they'll have access to a small list of incompetent tuners who charge twice as much for crap tunes.
i was waiting for this TY !
Excited for the updates, have owned 3 of the 2015 model fz07s and tracked the piss out of the last one I owned. Big fan of the CP2 and glad it’s no longer a cable throttle
I understand your elation. Funny, there will be an army of angry people gathering around the TBW hatred, and bemoaning the loss of the cable.
I've said it before, but I wish you tuned Triumphs.
Or ktm's
Do you have any recommendations on tuning the mt-07 in Europe?
Can you show a dyno graph of a 2024 and a 2025 with the same mods on top of each other?
Any intention to tune Triumph Trident/Tiger bikes? I don’t trust the other option/tuner after discussing things with them.
Edit - I was wrong. Still just one sensor but they relocated it closer to the engine when the Cat Converter was added.

What do you do about the 2nd Exhaust sensor that Euro 5 requires?
What 2nd exhaust sensor? My 2022 mt07 is euro 5 compliant and only has one sensor. What makes you think the 2025 has 2?
@@davidleonard8369 euro5+ requires one
@@davidleonard8369 Do a search for this phrase: "Euro-5 also covers misfire detection, meaning more sensors are required to pick up any misfires." Also Euro-5 rolled out with an initial set of guidelines + a subsequent layer of more requirements to be implemented that are now in effect called Euro 5B
@ misfires are detected with the cam and crank angle sensors. That’s been done since OBD2 was rolled out in 1996. The very last sentence in Adam Child’s article on Euro 5 regulations which was published before 2021 makes a simple statement that it will monitor misfires and require more sensors while not specifically mentioning exhaust sensors is incorrect as I stated because misfires have been monitored for several decades already in automobiles just by monitoring cam and crank correlation. Even an inexpensive scan tool can be used to detect which cylinders are misfiring and can be seen in real time using the cam and crank sensors.
@@davidleonard8369 I was wrong. Still just one sensor but they relocated it closer to the engine when the Cat Converter was added. Thanks for that.
I could be wrong but it seems like they put those jumps in to make blipping the throttle easier while downshifting. Either way I think they're overdoing it and should try to keep it simple.
Maybe the airbox got smaller to have space for the y-amt actuators.
I think the hord will fit but he would need to change his mount bracket, definitely would be interesting
so wait, on your last vid about 2025 mt07 you said its actually more powerfull than the older models, and now you are saying the opposite ? i am missing something ?
He said the new 2025 doesn't have the restrictive snorkel air intake so it has a couple more HP. With the prior model snorkel removed they would be comparable - except he has discovered that the "Throttle by Wire" does not provide 100% throttle at Wide Open Throttle (at most of the RPM range) where the prior model had a cable connected to your wrist. They can address the throttle reduction with flash ECU.
@@adjbob562021 and up mt07’s no longer have the snorkel. Yes there is an elbow on the inlet but no longer is there a snorkel in the air box.
2025 bikes are so precise you need to tune perfectly ... 1995 jet kits , inline 4s sync em ... room for error in jetting is greater than ECU tuning imo
🔥
It's a shame new owners of these otherwise excellent machines have to go through with so much shenanigans to have a small engine running to it's fully designed potential. Factory stuff is irritating the living poo out of me. Especially when this new stuff costs significantly more than it used to, and we have to pay up all this extra to get a machine running like the big fat corporations should have them run out the gate.
how much with rear disk and brake caliper removed ? yes stupid but ....... 30 lbs ?
More like 5 if you're lucky
@@ridenm7748 you think a rotor and caliper are 5 lbs ?
It really should make 80whp
Not so much. About 75-78. That's what it used to make with all the tuning aids, airbox swap, exhaust, velocity stacks.
@exothermal.sprocket I know, but everything else at this price is better.
This engine need 60cc and 20hp to be perfect. Honda Cb750 currently is better. Suzuki Gsx8s is higher. Triumph Trident is higher.
Honda Cb750 and Suzuki Gsx8s = 180kg as MT07 ? and fuel consumption 4l/100km as MT 07?
If you want a powerful bike, don't get a MT-7.... 😂
Bro anything that goes zero to 60 in sub 4 seconds can be considered powerful, more so depending on where you live lol
Okay, tough guy.
