Yeah that was super messed up that they let Drew sit in on Stacy's questioning. If nothing else they should be reprimanded/punished for that. Obstruction of justice.
Anytime someone presents something as evidence that is obviously not evidence it's a bad sign. Like him basically saying people should come to his defense and/or believe him... because he does nice things for people sometimes.
The fact that Kathleen’s emergency order and the state attorney did absolutely nothing and ignored her order of protection is disgusting and they’re partially responsible for her death as well!
I agree in hindsight it appears they were cold and ignored her. However, how many times do you think they get shit like that and its 100% bullshit? I don't know if you've ever filed for a protection order before, but generally there needs to be some evidence other than your word.
@@tsdobbi She had made reports with the police department so there was a paper trail. Women are simply ignored far too often when a victim of domestic violence.
That's how the law works in these small town Police stations. These buddy buddy cops just look out for each other, no matter what. I've dealt with it first hand, in podunk Alabama.
Kathleen: "my ex husband said he would kill me and make it look like an accident" Kathleen: *dies in an empty bathtub* Police: "nah that was an accident for sure"
Princess Dianna: My husband's planning an car accident to have me killed. The brakes will be cut or something. Princess Di: Dies in car accident. Very suspicious circumstances. Police investigators. Just an accident. That's all.
@DR Evil In Diana's case it wasn't the brakes but something else.

A female friend of mine divorced her cop husband and now he and his cop buddies have been harassing her for YEARS. She adamantly warns everyone to be EXTREMELY wary of getting involved with a cop.
Same here. My school mate of many years got involved with one who was 20 years older then her. He cheated, hurt and manipulated her for years. She left him, and all of his colleagues sided with him. Her life hasn't been normal or easy for a really long time
Oh totally and then there is another level of corrupt when someone gets with a cop and they are just as sketchy themselves. I was in a strange situation when I was 19 renting a house from a couple, he was a cop (small town and not a good record for the police there) she owned the house I rented and was a kindergarten teacher no less. She would freely let herself into the home and go through my things, do who knows what while I was gone thinking she could do so because of her cop boyfriend and landlord laws didn't apply to her. She was a total nutjob and I moved real quick. Feel bad for the little kids that had her as a teacher.
Տςհաҽҽժվ ᏖᎧᎴᎴ She’s not wrong, though. The domestic violence rate regarding cops is disgustingly high. Not to mention there have been plenty of cases where it’s pretty obvious an officer or friend/ family member of an officer has murdered someone (usually their spouse) and it’s then covered up by the police force. While this is not to do with the institutionalised racism that is rampant in the police, it does show you that they consider themselves ‘above the law’, are quick to resort to unnecessary violence and cover up for each other to a criminal degree. Check out the statistics for domestic violence, she’s not wrong.
I can’t get over how obnoxious and creepy this dude is. Why anyone would want to spend more than a minute with him is beyond me. When he was pushing reporters and telling them to leave him alone and then laughed, it was like he realized his true colors were showing and he quickly had to pretend like he was joking.
They don’t care about that. They only care about each other because they are trained that way. Like the military with thinking anyone else is an enemy. They suffer no repercussions from illegal activity, and have no qualms about harming others. It’s a joke.. and apparently the profession which has the most abused spouses is law enforcement.
It saddens me how Kathleen kept writing and talking to everyone, but no one ever believed her. It just makes me nauseous! This is outraging. Piece of crap
I know this is small compared to everything else he did, but something stuck out to me. He was caught taking bribes and selling drugs. So he got a demotion. Why wasn't he fired or charged? Do members of law enforcement really see no problem with this?
Definitely a case of "The Old Boy's Club". It's amazing what he got away with. Thank God the State police FINALLY did that last investigation, otherwise this could have gone on forever. The second wife gets into an accident because brakes were cut. The third wife drowns in an empty bathtub. Then he marries a teenager 30 years younger. Then she disappears...Then he gets his nephew tangled in his web...Yikes!! A serial killer!!
That is because those you speak of are full of it and untrustworthy, they are criminals, and they protect each other, this is where the public needs to wake up and take notice, maybe things may change by then
He didn’t give anything away because he has zero feelings. That question in his mind was probably equivalent in his to something as simple as “Did you eat lunch today?”
Are we going to ignore the fact that while being an undercover cop he took bribes and sold drugs, and as a consequence they " demoted " him by giving him a squad car and making him a patrol officer. Not to mention was given the rank of "SARGEANT" .
Yeah, that one sticks out big time. We live in a small town about the same size as Bolingbrook and a local undercover detective for narcotics was caught taking numbers from drug dealers of those they dealed to, in exchange for the detectives silence who then turned around and sold the drugs for a profit. He and a business partner (also a cop) were caught and both sentenced to prison. The detective killed himself, a month, if that into his sentence. But Drew was merely "demoted"? He should have been fired and sentenced too.
And this is why LADIES, anytime your involved with a cop, in this type of situation, you go right to the prosecutor’s office. Skip right by the local police. They cover their own blue line. RIP to all the victims 💔💔💔
Kathleen went straight to the State Attorney, and nothing happened. Better to just not get involved with cops- they are either bad themselves, or enabling the bad ones.
Wow Gayle.... I would never have guessed that you were so ..... Prolific in your knowledge.. what do you suggest if someone is Banging the person in charge of Fries at McDonald's .... should they go to the Drink maker or jump straight to the Drive-Thru ?
@@Commy01 baaaam. Truer words never spoken before. When I first met my wife (12yrs ago) a cop who responded to some dispute she was a witness on, stole her phone number from the statement and began HARASSING her to go out with him. She made complaints about this physcopath to their office, and they didn’t give 1 F. Luckily for me she wasn’t into bullies with pencil d!cks.
My ex did stuff like this. He was my first boyfriend and I was 18. He would pop into my work ( a retail store) and watch me work& he would get upset if ANY male coworkers spoke to or even looked at me. If he wasn’t there, he would ask me to send him pictures of the time clock to prove I was there. He tracked me from Facebook and knew how long it took me to get from work to his house. If I was even a few minutes late ( to get gas or coffee) he would accuse me of cheating on him. Eventually he wouldn’t let me wear makeup, certain underwear, even yoga pants weren’t allowed. After that and after he ruined my reputation and refused to let me talk to my friends and family is when he started beating me. I took pictures of the abuse when he went outside to smoke ( only time I was left alone with my phone) and I sent them to the only friend I had left ( she was a teenager at the time too, I was so brainwashed by him that I begged her to not tell the police) She saved them to her phone and this went on for months. She came to pick me up for class and she saw him push me down the stairs and throw a mirror at me. Once we left for “class” is when she drove me to the cops herself. Without her, I’d either still be with him, or I’d be dead. ( he always threatened to slit my throat and bury me under the basement. That no one would care) i feel very grateful to to get out alive. This is not normal behavior! I hope anyone reading this that is in a similar situation takes this as a sign to leave. Things will never get better. They will NEVER change. The violence will only get worse. Please please please leave. 💕
I'm really glad you got out of that situation. People don't understand how stuck somebody can feel in an abusive relationship. I witnessed my step father completely destroy my mother mentally and physically for years and years when I was a kid. She had no where to go so she dealt with it and fought back all she could. It seriously fucked her mind up. You have a great friend on your side, glad you are safe now.
Thank whoever-is-up-there for your friend. But I’ve also heard stories of girls that left and got heart because it made them snap. I is such a difficult and dangerous situation. Be safe and above all else very smart.
@Erin Tomasello, I hate that this was the case for you and so many others. I’ve heard variations of your story a dozens of times. People underestimate just how manipulative a significant other is, men or women, but when it’s paired with someone causing physical harm, it’s even harder to handle, especially if not as lucky as you having such a good friend in your corner reminding you not to take it. I’ve heard the craziest ways abusers wiggle out of trouble, only reinforcing their untouchable mindset. It’s sickening. So happy you’re safe because you very well *would* have been killed eventually. If you don’t get out, that’s exactly how the story ends unfortunately. I’ve been lucky to make it a point, after watching a friend brutalized, that NO matter how much I may love a man, the first time he lays a finger on me, it’s over. Happened in college, my boyfriend threw me into the lamp/wall, and also tried controlling my birthday by not “allowing” me to invite my friends. Nope, was not giving him further chances to do more of that, bye bye! It’s amazing to watch the reactions of these cowards if you stand up to them with back up. Threw his abusive controlling ass out with my two best friends standing behind me the very same day! Suddenly not such a tough guy. I hope you never tolerate the same again, because YOU deserve better and are worth so much more. I don’t need to know you at all to know this. XOXO
Miss Nearwater 'its amazing to watch the reaction of these cowards'. When i was using drugs and decided to stop and choose a heathier lifestyle it was very impowering. But the man i was in love with overed me more because he wanted a drugsbuddy. I said no and the look on his face........ ooooooh i felt so strong in that moment, i was a queen. Have a nice day fellow queen 🙋🏻
That whole police department needs to be investigated and those guilty of ignoring Kathleen's pleas for help need to be prosecuted and imprisoned.. What an absolute monster. A far worse criminal than the ones he arrested. A criminal may have a conscience about what they've done, this guy doesn't have any.
I sincerely wish. The county is starting to get better because people are electing better city officials. The city of Naperville and Aurora have been doing great in terms of improving the quality of their policing (I think because they are starting to increase diversity in the force), however the further you get out into the farmland, things get a little more difficult. But, with all these old cops retiring the good ol boys club doesn't have much longer. When I was growing up, I didn't think lady cops were a thing. Now that I'm older, when I go back for xmas, see them all the time. It is getting better, but the healing will definitely take time.
That's a slippery slope you both are wishing for. Do you two knucklehead realize how many people would be imprisoned for "ignoring" pleas for help? Someone commits suicide, oh you're going to jail because they confided in you 5 yrs ago. A friend is murdered, you're going to jail because (s)he told you that they were unhappy with their marriage. Do you people see the insanity in your utopian fuckery?
All the complaints, restraining order, letter to the state attorney and no one else held responsible or charged with a crime is why this type of things keep happening.
This is how my friend died a couple months ago piece of shit was a crazy person. 14 separate cases of physical abuse a restraining order was filed, violated his probation, broke my friends ribs, cops said it was he said she said, later that week he broke into her house and stabbed her 47 time. It sucks what happened to her...but the cops, his friends and even ones that didn't really know him...he was probably telling them how psycho she was...making up false accusations, etc. They probably just thought she was crazy from all the stuff they had gone through and then all the stuff he put her through. Thomas didn’t succeed in his attempted suicide, so why is it difficult to track down what happened to the blue container? Is that where Stacy‘s sister got the information of where the container is (in the canal)? 40% of all police are domestic abusers, nearly twice the national average. If cops were actually being held accountable for their crimes that number would be much lower. The blue wall of corruption has a few cracks from the mass riots about police but it's still holding strong.
It's all planned out. Your department and your precious higher ups don't care about the citizens as you can see. It's all about making regular people into criminals, filling up the prison system with walking dollar signs, wholesale unchecked murder and the continuation of the slave trade established 6000 or more years ago... if you really care about freedom and liberty, as most cops love to hide behind the flag, you'd open your eyes and see what your government is doing to people and do a complete 180°

It's a cocktail of various things. Psychopaths are well known to be charming; They say whatever you want to hear, try to figure out what you need and "help you" with that, etc. They practice Love Bombing at the beginning. Become Mr. Charming and dial it up to 11. It can be very flattering to someone who doesn't know what is going on. All that attention. They do a lot of reconnaissance and the scary part is that it's a natural way for them to handle their prey. Always on the prowl. Tirelessly. Because they don't have a conscience. Empty inside. This means they have a lot of time and energy on their hands, that they use to ruin other people's lives. For fun. Always sussing someone out, always sticking their nose in others people's business, always scheming. They like easy prey. Young, elderly, naive, needy, helpless, low self-esteem kind of people. When the psychopath presents himself as their "savior", "protector" and the guy who "gets them" they jump in with both feet. Over time that "savior" turns into a tyrant. The sweet talking turns into threats. Violence. Then they mix it up, causing cognitive dissonance: Flowers, beatings, flowers, beatings, flowers, beatings. The prey becomes exhausted. Clinging to the memory of the long lost savior - that never existed. The home becomes a prison. Take away their money, push away friends and family. No support. No help. A lot of abusers are very busy having children asap with their prey. It's another lock to keep them in place. If and when the prey tries to get away... there will be hell to pay. This includes involving all of the people the psychopath has "recruited" over the years. All the other people that have been "saved" and "helped" - also known as Flying Monkeys. They are there to reinforce the brainwash and the prison walls. That the prey is a selfish asshole for leaving such a great guy. Even help get rid of the bodies, because flying monkeys are brainwashed and terrorized as well. None of this happens over night.
@@MsLenepigen Yep. Pretty much sums the whole awful situation up. Also, had never heard of the "Flying Monkey" concept - makes me kinda sad, cause my abusive ex actually turned my father into one, briefly (as, I am sorry to say, my own dad did with my MOTHER"S father, also briefly, after Dad left her). My granddad came round pretty quickly - my dad only registered he'd better stop talking to my p.o.s. ex after I cut the old man off for a few months (that had never happened before). I still don't think the silly old fart knows just how damaging his behaviour was...*sighs* I stand by my loved ones. If they tell me there's trouble, I listen. Wish some people got that :-(
The "joking" that this P.O.S. was doing with the media was aggressive posturing. He also invaded personal space as an attempt at domination. One can sense how quickly this "joking" could turn to murderous rage.

The second time she called he beat the hell out of her. The only way she was able to get away was to move while he was out of town. She had to move to her parents house and then to two different states. I really thought he was going to kill her. She cut ties with anyone from the town we lived in. I heard from her 6 years after she moved and it was because he moved to another state. It was really sad that she had absolutely no protection
Many of us victims have to see our ex friends hang with abusers everytime or sometimes even our family. Nobody believes us and everyone leaves us hanging. But the moment our abuser takes our lives everyone is crying at our funeral. It's a sad reality to be a survivor.
@ZeroSerotonin abusers are very good recruiters, it's hard to imagine these people are so violent to loved ones. It's sad rape and abuse are crimes considered so serious and terrible. But when it actually happens no one wants to believe, even if there are multiple accusations from many people or it's rare for false accusations to be leveled.
@theneedyelf8867 false allegations are rare but abuse, domestic violence, and sexual assault aren't and there are millions of men, women, and children that have survived it and never gotten justice because society in my opinion protects abusers.
I met Drew Peterson once, in the early 90’s. It was work related; he came to my place of business for a meeting. He was VERY arrogant and did not respect the “personal space” rule. Luckily, the meeting didn’t last long. He certainly thought he was God’s gift to women. 😡
Unfortunately it seems like at least 5 women also thought the same until he showed them his true colors. This psychological phenomenon of liking 'bad boys' (pure evil in this case) escapes my comprehension
@ I guess the neurally challenged, psychopathic serial killers, those with certain personality disorders - especially those with anti social element - children under the age of four who have yet to form the notion in their mind that other people as well as themselves exist and have feelings and needs too, also petulant teenagers (however it's likely that they actually do really care and are just bluffing because at that age, what with all the hormones, they get embarrassed showing positive emotion), and lastly but by no means leastly, people going by the screen name dropsy. All of these groups of people can be said to not care at all or, as the cool kids say "don't give a shit bruv" about children who experience their father brutalising their mother and talking about murdering her and his other wives.

38 years for premeditated murder. 40 for talking about killing an attorney. 38 for terrifying, beating, murdring, subverting an entire police force coroner investigation, giving her kids to another woman. But 40 years for talking to another prisoner about killing that prosecutor. How do you only get 38 for that murder/ cover up..etc... in the first place?
@Sjwaria Law double checked - he got 38 years for the murder of Kathleen and an additional 40 years of bribery to commit murder, running congruent. He won't be eligible for parole until 2081 which would make him 127 years old. So yeah, he's not getting out lol. I think what the OP was asking is how someone could only get 38 years for murder and to top that, get 40 for conspiracy to commit murder without actually having someone killed. Most people get a life sentence for 1st degree murder. 38 years is almost insultive especially when he got a longer sentence just for talking about having someone killed.

It's heartbreaking, she was left alone and couldn't survive to finally have a peaceful life. My thoughts go out to her. ❤ Love and Respect.
2012: Convicted for the murder of Kathleen: sentenced to 38 years. 2016: Convicted of (1) solicitation of murder and (2) solicitation of murder for hire of James Glasgow - the DA for Kathleen’s murder trial. Sentenced to AN ADDITIONAL FORTY years! He’s eligible for release in 2081 🤣 Or when he’s carried out in a pine box.
@@Shylade So after watching the video all the way through, I think it's purely off of evidence. They knew he killed the women, but just didn't have the proof to risk going for a longer sentence. The solicitation of murder was much easier to prove and provided them the option to go for a higher sentence, that being one that, in combination with his current sentence, was more akin to what they felt he deserved.
FYI: Just wanted to complement you on your editing. I've been watching these vids for a while, and the editing is pretty damn entertaining and consistently perfect for the mood, yet at times it catches me off guard as somewhat humorous. Well done!
I met stacy’s brother in Chicago. He and his wife and kids lived across the street from my aunt. I had known about the case as I always have been into true crime. I was invited to a bday party there and there was a painted portrait of Stacy. I hadn’t known who he was but it sent chills down my spine. We’re all so disconnected to these cases but they’re real people who had lives and family that loved them.

Born and raised in Bolingbrook myself, most of this story i remember but dont recall the radio april fools thing... I was even a daily Mancow listener at the time.
I went to school with his oldest son. We were in band together and Drew Peterson sat next to my family at freshmen orientation. It's crazy because I remember when she went missing, it was the day of my sweet sixteen and it's all the village of Bolingbrook was buzzing about. I remember meeting the Peterson's before Stacy disappeared. She seemed sweet but timid. Everyone knows he killed her and his other wife, his brother helped him hide her body. Bolingbrook was put on the map for all the wrong reasons thanks to his monster 👹

Oh totally and then there is another level of corrupt when someone gets with a cop and they are just as sketchy themselves. While this is not to do with the institutionalised racism that is rampant in the police, it does show you that they consider themselves ‘above the law’, are quick to resort to unnecessary violence and cover up for each other to a criminal degree.

I'm really glad you got out of that situation. People don't understand how stuck somebody can feel in an abusive relationship. @Erin Tomasello, I hate that this was the case for you and so many others. I’ve heard variations of your story a dozens of times. People underestimate just how manipulative a significant other is, men or women, but when it’s paired with someone causing physical harm, it’s even harder to handle, especially if not as lucky as you having such a good friend in your corner reminding you not to take it. I’ve heard the craziest ways abusers wiggle out of trouble, only reinforcing their untouchable mindset. It’s sickening. So happy you’re safe because you very well *would* have been killed eventually. If you don’t get out, that’s exactly how the story ends unfortunately. I’ve been lucky to make it a point, after watching a friend brutalized, that NO matter how much I may love a man, the first time he lays a finger on me, it’s over. Happened in college, my boyfriend threw me into the lamp/wall, and also tried controlling my birthday by not “allowing” me to invite my friends. Nope, was not giving him further chances to do more of that, bye bye! It’s amazing to watch the reactions of these cowards if you stand up to them with back up. Psychopaths are well known to be charming;
They say whatever you want to hear, try to figure out what you need and "help you" with that, etc.
My granddad came round pretty quickly - my dad only registered he'd better stop talking to my p.o.s. ex after I cut the old man off for a few months (that had never happened before).

@Sjwaria Law I think it was an additional 40 tacked on running congruent.

One interview actually resembled a press conference, again with a loaded gun pointing at the crowd.
