Meru is a wonderful movie and obviously a big part of what made Jimmy such a terrific film maker. He just took the Oscar for Free Solo. I promise you will love both films, and this is coming from someone who can't climb a tree. I'm so grateful that he has given me a chance to experience something I would have never gotten to otherwise.
The "Mount Meru" Jimmy and Conrad are referring to...is it the same as Mount Kailash?/aka..."Axis Mundi/Mount Meru"? That's confusing...lol. Anyone know the story behind two 'Meru's'?
One is meru peak which they climbed, its a sacred mountain in gharwal district, uttarakhand, india. Another one is mt meru in south america (or africa not sure lol). None of those are mt kailash which is a mountain banned for climbing due to religious reasons
No, there are 'easier' ways up Meru then they went, but they climbed up the Shark's fin route which has never been climbed before, but attempted dozens of times but numerous parties. K2 Is a definitely harder, but each have their own challenges.
Meru's shark fin is harder in the way that that its steeper and there are less places you can place anchor etc. But k2 is almost as high as mt Everest and add to that the sheer steepness and exposure, it sure becomes equally dangerous. Both are dangerous af due to different reasons
If Conrad, Jimmy or Renan are involved.... I'm watching👍
3 legends of the game

Great interview, the interviewer did a great job, knew what to ask, how to ask it and how to let the subjects expand and breathe.
One of the best interviews conducted with these two legends! No interruptions and allowed them to explore their thoughts. Great questions as well!
Both a very big inspiration, and both great and humble human beings.
I can watch and listen to these two for days!
A beautiful interview with Conrad and Jimmy, two gentle and humble men ... "Meru" is an astonishing film.
