The reason Clark appears to act like a villain in the beginning is because he's being affected by Red Kryptonite--which causes him to lose his inhibitions and embrace his dark side.

Think I like Clark the least in season 9. He was an asshole that season, half the time I'm rotting for the bad guys to kick his ass. By the way would have preferred Hawkeye throw Clark through a window instead of Oliver. He just annoyed me that season. Clark was cool earlier seasons though

He was influenced by red kryptonite. It is basically a drug that is so powerful for Clark that he can’t control himself he has to do things that he never would if it is touching him.
Man this show was on forever. It ran like 10 years. Never woulda thought it would last THAT long. Welling was 33 years old when the show finally wrapped up.

Robin Williams' take on this series was that EVERYONE in Smallville knew that Clark Kent was a superhero, but they all agreed to never tell him so he could have a normal childhood. This explains the entire series.

Well, this is basically canon to DC Comics. In the comic books, Clark Kent was really lame at concealing his true nature during his youth. They simply reflected this in multiple on-screen iterations of Superman later on, as hinted in Superman 3, foreshadowed in Lois & Clark, deconstructed over the course of the Smallville show run and inferred in the DC Extended Universe films.

Well if he punched people he would break them. So he resort to pushing people, which later in seasons like season 9 he learned to really control his strength from training at the fortress.
Not necessarily, since Clark's power is only partly a muscle and bone density, and there is other part that is from anti-gravity filed.

The thing to remember about Superman is that when he trains... he practices hitting softly. Otherwise his punches would put a hole in people and splatter their insides on the wall. Other superheroes practice being badass. Superman practices not being so badass that someone dies by his hand. Just the way that while other superheroes don a mask, Superman dons glasses.
