  • yeah right, more like 2 and a half
Meant for entertainment purposes only... but you could possibly use this for research...
All characters, music, references outside of things i've created are to belong to their respective right holders. I don't own anyone else's work...

Finding new content creators because they made a video hating on Sonic games sucks.
It is also a regular experience, just like being disappointed in a Sonic game is a regular experience.
I was lucky to get Sonic Colors DS as my first actual Sonic game.

We don't talk about Xenoblade, a flagship brand for the switch and one of the most critically acclaimed RPG series of the modern age, for what reason exactly?

I remember like a deep tech dive into it talking about resolution and maybe performance being worse that the Wii version of the hd port, I was just talking about the upscale/frame rate stuff in that nothing else about it and like how Zelda skyward sword got hd 60fps enhancement but sonic colors didn’t get the fps boost

@@BraydenHanning Incoming tech lecture lmao. Xenoblade Defintive Edition is a massive graphical overhaul that runs fairly well. The wii game ran at a resolution of 480p and ran at a very unstable 30fps. XCDE is always at a higher resolution and far more stable framerate then the wii version. The remake employs a dynamic resolution scaler which raises and lowers the resolution in response to what is going on, while deploying a TAA solution to clean up stray pixels. The resolution bottoms out at 540P an extreme minority of the time, and tops out at 720.
The graphics of the wii game were cited as the developers only lingering regret about the title. Monolith Soft was capable of making good graphics, Xenosaga 3 looked wonderful on the PS2. But the open world nature of the game, plus being on the wii, meant they had to use extremely ugly and simple models. So the remake replaced and uprezed everything to address that. Between the massive visual upgrades, as well as the titanic plethora of quality of life improvements and game adjustments, plus the inclusion of a free dlc campaign, the remake has replaced the original for all practical intents and purposes.
The Xenoblade game that was most technically unstable was Xenoblade Chronicles 2. This is because the dev team was working under massive time crunch conditions, and at the beginning of the development cycle, had no clue what tech specs the game was going to be for. Nintendo didn't inform some of its studios how strong or limited the switch would be, so they worked with an approximation. They were also mandated by Nintendo to release the game in 2017. A deadline they barely met, launching in december. The crunch was so bad that they lost dev team members who quit, and they were forced to cut a massive segment of the game, the Torna chapters, which were eventually revived and converted into the games DLC. This is on top of the fact that multiple developers were taken off the project and pushed onto Zelda Breath Of the Wild for support duty. So all in all XC2 was developed in nightmare conditions. That games resolution bottomed out lower then 480p at times. And was plauged with glitches and technical fuck ups. The game would be patched, and was received well by fans. But that's in spite of it's development environment, much like Sonic Frontiers.
Each of the Xenoblade Games on switch would run better then the last entry. XC2 was a technical train-wreck because of it's rocky development. Torna the Golden Country was somewhat better due to a new graphics engine version. Xenoblade Defintive was more stable, as they basically ported 1 to their HD engine and thus had wii levels running on switch, easier for the system to handle. Then there was Xenoblade 3 + Future Redeemed, which actually run the best of the series on Switch, due to them deploying a special technique to maximize the games potential on switch. They basically render 3 at 540P but then use up-scaling magic in realtime to uprez to 900P. 3 and it's DLC run very well as a result.

Ok… I was just referencing Digital Foundry’s video where they mentioned the game ran at the lowest 504p in docked and 378p in handheld. I didn’t mean anything by it… just talking about the technical aspects. Thank you for the detailed info

@@TheSpaceking12 XC on Switch might be a technical improvement but they butchered the original artstyle imo.
