Maternity leave is never a vacation. Its time given to heal your body from the pain while giving birth to a baby via normal birth or c section surgery. It's a time given to stabilise the body back to normal while taking care of the newborn. Plus newborns are more sensitive and need to be handled with care. Loved how the boss encourage the other female colleagues. 👌
This should be a highlighted comment for the ones who have no knowledge or info..... specially all men.. Thanks Harpreet,😘
Absolutely
I don't think anyone normal person can say so
6 months are more than enough to heal after child birth(Doctors suggest 4 weeksb, max 6 weeks r enough to return)
Don't get me wrong, but an extended maternity leave can effect a women's career negatively (no matter how much we try to change it)
@@shreyarajput-singha5908 yes. I agree. In India gives 6 months leave but in some foreign countries max 3 months maternity leave. My company gave me only 2 months of maternity leave not more.
2/3/6 month leave is not a vacation as shown in the video where the men was literally saying it is a vacation and if they have opportunity they will go for it. Technically it is wrong in saying that. Many people assume maternity leave you enjoy after giving birth but its not true. Every single thing from living behaviours, priority, sleep, time, and etc changes, Never the same.
Women supporting other women at work- now that's the real women empowerment. Indira Nooyi once said in one of her speeches - "If a woman is excelling in her office, her female colleagues should be happy for her". 🤗
yes absolutely! And in broad prospect, everyone should be happy for each othr. isn't human a social being and sociality means interacting and sharing emotions? But leave men, here a woman becomes the prime obstacle. They do stuffs like bitching, mocking and what not! Whatever you said has become a mere dream now!
Woman can be woman's BEST friend and the worst ENEMY. Both traits are divine but could be handled with good background and upbringing.
very true
So true... but this hardly happens cos Most of the times rather than supporting, women are jealous of each other and are involved in pulling each other down.
@@leenasingh I do agree with you. However, as said "only wearer knows where the shoe pinches," a woman who has undergone and crossed all such hurdles can understand fellow woman's feelings and difficulties as depicted in this movie. Present day corporate has "dogs eat dog" culture, hence woman can hardly expect any cordiality at least from men or youngsters because of competition and one-upmanship.
I got tears when she said " you can work from home if you want".....when women support women ❤
Being a mom doesn't mean that we have lost our capabilities, on the contrary we become capable of multitasking. 😊
V v trueeee
I am a new mom...n can't understand it better!!
@Neelam Arya....no need to do multitasking. No need to become a superhuman. Just be a wonderful human. Divide the domestic responsibilities equally. Why to bear the burden of anything alone ? No need ! 👍
Guys, being ours an overpopulated country, we should now celebrate childfree individuals. Why is it so difficult to imbibe such a simple reasoning that every human does not need to become a parent!
@@anewlife5846 this will never happen in india. Child-free couple means marriage for sex and not for kids. Society aunties will never accept it
Let me take a moment and share my maternity leave experience.
I work in a big4 firm. Usually we have lot of work. But the company is very much employee friendly. I was promoted and given a very good hike when I was on my maternity leave. Even after returning, I was asked if I needed more time and can take up the full time role. I was ready and took the work. My teammates, manager all are very good and understanding professionals. Blessed to have such a balanced work life even after being a mommy.
Dlt?
Thank you for making this video. I was called lazy by my male manager after returning from my maternity leave for 8 weeks. I had a c section and twin babies. But some male colleagues showed zero understanding of my situation. The funny thing is new moms are considered liability in most workplaces.
8 weeks?? How is that ok?
That is how it works in tht company in the USA.After consideration they agreed for 8 weeks from 4 weeks
That's not fair to say the least. I just hope, due consideration starts being given to the health and wellbeing of new mothers. Yes, while in the US, have seen many young mothers return to work very soon, post delivery. Definitely, the male colleagues should be sensitized with the aspects of having a new mum join back the workforce, if the workplaces actually aim to cultivate a healthy work environment. Women are definitely not a minority, particularly in the IT sector, hence deserve fairness.
Please please prove all them wrong. I request.
Am sorry you had to go through this
As a new mother I totally get it. The moment when she touches the award reminiscing the times when she was the best at her job. Taking care of a tiny human being and working at the same time is not easy, we women go through a lot of self doubt and on top of that there are few people who don't miss a chance to make you feel like you were on a vacation during the maternity leave. Thank God that there are intelligent and compassionate policy makers in our country who have given ample amount of time as maternity leave to the women of India. I feel blessed to be born as an Indian.
Hello... ..
No humour no p
India values society that's why maternity leaves are necessary but it depends completely on management to support her for few more years..after maternity leaves women can't focus on work because of constant phone calls, coming late to office, leaving early from office, taking half days, etc. that's the reality..
Yes being a daughter I also understand
I was also told to resign by my employer before I even went back to work from my maternity leave. I asked him the reason for doing that and they had no reasons at all. I then gave them a tough fight and told him that I will go to the ombudsman and file a complaint and then he was a bit ashamed of what he was doing and gave a good experience letter and also compensation for not hiring me back. I got a much better career option after that. so to all the women, be proud of being a woman and a mum....
This is why we need more number of female employees in all fields. As the ratio will be equal the level of understanding and the courage to open up once problem will be even more convenient. If in that female boss's position was of a male ,then she would have have to quit her job . Indeed a great work . Could feel each word said by the female boss
No I guess we need more of the kind of attitude the boss had , be it male or female.
@@salonipriyam1150 ofcourse we need that . But as a female when I look into this, when the boss is also a female there will be a sort of companionship in such situations. And i admit that male boss with this kind of attitude will be a great but we rarely find such colleagues
@@salonipriyam1150 l0
@@gourip4500 Can't agree actually!! Sometimes & infact many of the times, men remain supportive towards females more than females themselves...! U know what I mean !! It's just the attitude that's required just like many of the times even some females doesn't support the concept of feminism but some male feminist do !
@@poorviasthana1587 there are such cases too I agree . But if the workplace is having an equal ratio of male & female the comfort level & security among the colleagues would be more than taunting each other
Never doubt a woman's caliber because she is the only divine gift on earth with internal strength to handle multi channels of being a daughter, worker, wife, mother et al. This divinity is bestowed upon her only, so man has to be prejudice of her abilities. Only a woman can understand another woman.

Ego and competition rivalry needs to be put in the back burner . Men will be men after all . Beautifully conveyed the entire message. Big applause 👏🏽👏🏽
I wish I was supported this way. I was made to feel that my pregnancy was a mistake by my hod and it ruined my career. Today I'm a successful entrepreneurs though. But my career in hotel industry still questioned by some men who think having a baby or rising a child is game. Men have that attitude where they feel they can mistreat us anytime anywhere.

Reality is totally different in corporate world,2-3 years ke liye growth ruk jata he ,juniors aage chale jate he,kyunki jab pregnant hote he tab company kuch nahi hike deti fir maternity se aate he tab bhi kuch nahi because they know you will not go anywhere, this is my experience
I agree
Bas skills upgrade krti rehni chahiye aur phir job change kr leni chahiye, ek better portfolio aur resume ke saath, yehi sahi strategy hai !!! Companies see employees as resources, not humans !!! Aur companies assets gain krna aur liabilities reduce krna chahte hai, aur auratein chahe kitni bhi skilled aur mehnati ho na kyun, lekin sirf aur sirf yeh maternity reason ke wje se auraton ko aadmiyon se zyada liabilities aur aadmiyon se kam assets dekha jaate hai !!!

Great content. Maternity leave will not change woman skills and performance.
Pregnancy always classified as rebirth for a woman. It's not vacation, it's a period to recover to get back normal.
Great that there are men to understand this.. There are many who don't.. Not just to recover, sleepless nights, having to please husband and everybody at home, post partum depression which many classify as 'psycho'.. these are the things we have to handle.. Most of the times, we can't sleep a wink but have to get up early or face abuses at home. I sometimes used to fall asleep in toilet. Sometimes people at work understand us better than people at home.

I'm sorry you don't feel this way in your organisation. how can a new mom work in a toxic environment? she literally gave birth to a whole new human. do u know the drastic changes that cause in her body and life? if the company she is loyal to wont support her in these times then who will. a loyal employee is like family. wont u help your fam? i guess not.

Omg this is so relatable to me. I eventually left my job. Now I am working somewhere better with a better salary and position. No one (my line managers) was listening to me that I wanted more challenge and better pay, instead they were telling me how I was going to make up my missed work hours when I requested to finish work at 4 instead of 5:30pm. My new job says so as long as I deliver they have no issue if I finish work at 4 or wfh

i faced this too at my work ..when I came after maternity leave, just after 3 months of my delivery..its already a mixed feeling, that guilt of leaving your baby and excitement of joining back your position at work ..while your body is still healing..but everyone around us is out of that caring zone.
