The real crime: WHY WON'T HASBRO OFFICIALLY UPLOAD THIS FOR WESTERN FANS?
Probably cause this is a Takara commissioned project
@@BushidoBrownSama My question is why won't they just localize it then?
@@KazuyaMithra probably money related issue
Maby if we're lucky they will at some point.
Probably some music rights BS.
Even when considering this is a commission by Taraka you can tell there’s so much genuine love for transformers at studio Trigger. It is wonderful.
Makes me wonder of how long they been waiting to do a Transformers animated video since the production of Gridman.
the P&S episode with the TF homage was the first sign of that
and then there was SSSS GRIDMAN
2007 Optimus and Megatron's weird pose is a reference to a add for the movie
Studio Trigger was founded by former Gainax employees. If you look at some of Gainax's former more stylised work like Gurren Lagann, you can see how they mash together.
You have no idea how much life that shot of Prime and Primal merging into Optimal Optimus and fighting against TMII Megatron formed from G1 Megs and the Predacon who took his name gave me. I had a whole Legacy series pitch in which an alternate version of TMII Megs truly was a mashup of G1 and BW Megs (resulting in G1 Megs talking through BW Megs’s dragon head), won the Beast Wars, and was part of a dark mirror to the Thirteen assembled by Unicron to ravage the multiverse. Kinda neat seeing someone at Trigger make that idea something of a reality.
Also that shot of Artemis, Moon and T-AI reacting to the Q-Transformers versions of Optimus, Bumblebee and Lockdown is pretty funny
Genuinely beautiful from the deep knowledge of the lore to the cheeky references and jokes to every single incarnation of the franchise. It’s not an exaggeration to say this is the best thing transformers as a brand has ever done imo
Trigger killed it with this video. 3 minutes of bliss
The 2007 Prime and Megatron fighting is animated in the style Trigger has famously used for Gurren Lagan. The pose they do also came from 2007 movie marketing.
I like how they added Waspinator to the Starscreams shot, because Waspinator was once possessed by Starscream's spark. I know they didn't get it in Japan but I would have liked to have seen Rescue Bots get in here because they fits a couple of the parallels you mentioned, as in a family of rescue workers partnered with various Rescue Bots and took part in the mainline action except for the rare battle. It's a minor nitpick because it wasn't in Japan and everything else is so cool.
Not sure its meant to be a pure Starscream shot because Beast wars II Dirge is also in that shot. Though funnily enough in Beast Wars II Dirge would get an upgrade that is a remold of Waspinator.
Also if you look closely the Waspinator here appears to be animated Waspinator rather than Beast wars Waspinator since it is all green with purple eyes.
@@R0-83-RT He did seem a bit off. At first I thought it was the wasp from Beast Machines, but that was a toy-only character so I tossed that idea out. Maybe they liked the Animated version better? I just saw an interview with the storyboarder. It's worth a watch.
@@ShadowWingTronix I hadn't watched the interview, I'm definitely going to search that out when I get the chance.
@@R0-83-RT It's on Studio Trigger's official UA-cam channel. (Sadly the music video isn't, at least in the US.) Be sure to turn on closed captions for English subtitles.
@@ShadowWingTronix Huh that's so weird the interview is officially available, but the actual video isn't?
The ending with earthspark optimus prime and Megatron shaking hands at the end is enough to make a grown man cry.😢😭
This was the Transformers version of Once Upon A Studio and I mean that in the best way possible because that video made my heart so happy
even if its not a multiverse affair, I feel any anime where Trigger is just allowed to cook will be amazing
One of my favorite deeper cuts from the video is that when they show all the different Megatrons and other deception leaders, tfp Megs has his stolen prime arm and the dark star saber
That shot was packed with little details, like Armada Megatron holding all three minicon weapons, and Animated Megatron using Isaac Sumdac as a meat shield. The reference game was on point.
The star saber arc was one of my favorite parts of Prime.
Trigger did SUCH a great job. I was genuinely surprised by all the cameos and love that went into this.
There was another multiverse scene in the Regeneration Comics - every version of Hot Rod / Rodimus showed up to face the final enemy.
“Me… reflected into infinity”- a line that goes as hard as the Guido Guidi art that goes with it
I was sad not to see Energon OP and Megs in the style lineups. But I was more than thrilled when Energon got its own segment with Kicker and Ironhide not being annoying.
Yeah it sucks he wasn't there. Although at least Energon Optimus Prime had his segment, he was combined with Omega Supreme
@@faizfaisal4554I'm pissed Hot Shot and Sideways wasn't seen here...
I may not know every single reference made in this short, but it sure is one Prime tribute to the whole franchise. That scene where G1 Optimus Prime and Megatron teamed up with their respective Beast Wars counterparts was beyond awesome, especially when they each combined to form Optimal Optimus and Transmetal 2 Megatron. The brief glimpse of their "Beast Machines" designs was also a nice touch.
Even Q-Transformers got represented
This cartoon brought me to tears…absolutely glorious
It's Anime 💀
Studio trigger is a Japanese studio created alot of anime
Do i need to scream at you to get a goddamn reply?!
@@jimmaury9161 it's not a cartoon it's anime, Studio trigger is a anime studio
As much as I love all the references to so many different versions of the characters. I’m surprised Soundwave nor the Dinobots ever showed up. One who has a faced that is literally the Decepticon symbol and the other being one of the most recognizable transformer teams. Also surprised there was no scramble city references
Wheeljack never showed up either. The first bot shown in animation.
Dinobot did show up. In the part that show the death of optimus, prowl, armada starscream and ginrai.
There must be a director’s cut somewhere…
@@rikisalim6438they’re referring to the team, not the character.
@@rikisalim6438 That is Dinobot 2. That is not the original Dinobot.
The video makes it look like Hasbro/Takara really respects most of the Transformers franchise with all the different continuities, I wish other companies would do the same
Hasbro didn't make it :P
@@KazuyaMithra I’m aware that it was made by Studio Trigger, however Hasbro/Takara paid them to make and most likely told them what characters to use from what series, so my comment holds true
16:16 This is the best Beast Machines Optimus and Megatron are ever gonna look!
19:14 possibly the same part of Trigger that did the Transformers episode of Panty And Stocking
Zone's power source is called the Zodiac
It's the power source that revived and transformed Optimus Prime into Star Convoy.
Great music video. Worked well with the chosen song. So many references, ill have to watch it multiple times to memorize them all.
With all the references to the franchise they've put into other things they made of course Trigger was gonna absolutely knock it out of the park with something like this and if this ended up like the Gridman short leading into a full series I'm sure it would be equally as amazing.
I wish I could see Nick Roche's face upon seeing his designs for Earthspark in hand-drawn animated form
A fun fact was that the director is a big fan of transformers and is known for putting transformers references into his work and his desk usually have transformers on it
and he did want to work on a transformers show after he started doing key animation back in the day and the next one being made at the time was galaxy force/cybertron but he couldn't join due to scheduling conflicts
and then he finally got do work on a show when he was able to join the production of transformers animated
I appreciate that they animated Sari Sumdac the most wildly out of all the humans. Me thinks someone at Trigger really loves her ;)
seeing cybertron characters again actually made me tear up watching it the ending of that toy line is what really got me into transformers as a whole then legacy bringing back the designs has made me so happy as theyve hit every single one out of the universe just waiting on my commander class galaxy force prime and then ill be happy
21:44 I noticed that oddly colored Optimus and had no clue what it was. Like he was flashing between his regular color scheme, his death colors from the 86 movie, and that color scheme. I thought it was suppose to be a reference to the all Yellow Optimus Prime except that's the RID2001 design not the G1 version so I was so confused by this.
But yes I would love to see a full on series dealing with multiverse stuff done in this animation. The only real time we've seen the multiverse done in Animation was during Cyberverse but that was always reusing the Cyberverse designs for every reality. Except for Megatron X but that was really just regular Megatron recolored and with 2 fusion canons similar to Tarn.
Bump of chicken Optimus?
I always thought that in both the international and jp Armada, Energon and Cybertron were all connected
Me too.
BOTCON also had a bit of Multiverse stories.
Damn, funny this video is up today, I just checked out this animation and did a little break down with my friend, trying to ID every bot we see.
Also congrats on making it to 1100 videos!
Also, technically, the original shattered glass comic book series had A Multiverse story
It's a superb tribute to the franchise
I'd love to see TRIGGER create their own Transformers continuity. This video really shows deep understanding of the entire brand, and I could definitely see them sheparding a new continuity that pulls from everything, ala Animated to IDW 1.0
We should go back from CG to 2D animated shows in the future.
TILL ALL ARE ONE!
"Til All Are GONE" Remember this quote from "Shattered Glass" Optimus Prime
😈😈😈
Total banger as always 🔥🔥🔥
Genuinely, the video made me so incredibly happy to be a Transformers fan-
Even making things I am strongly against (Transformers Prime as a whole) look AMAZING here-
It was a letter of love to everything Transformers, and I couldn't help but smile and wild out over how damn great everything was here
This is easily one of the best transformer videos ever. Would love to see Trigger do a new Transformers series.
Where can I watch this at.
Edit: I just watched it. Tears of joy and nostalgia.
It's on UA-cam
[Random Observation] If third parties could get the Transformers Go! Characters right with a nice stylized design I think those toys could be very interesting
Hopefully Takara is impressed enough to get a full series done by them. Maybe it's just the Unicron Trilogy kid in me talking, but having an international anime-derived continuity again (hopefully better than the Unicron Trilogy) would be cool.
Nothing can be better than the Unicron Trilogy. We still don't have a single character as cool as Alpha Q all these years later.
One word I can describe this video with is "trippy" in the most positive connotation there is as I was genuinely overwhelmed with so many familiar faces side-by-side!
20:45 "Megatron... Let's see you grit those teeth!!"
I'm familiar with GO! because one of the molds they made for it, Ganoh, would be perfect for a custom Big Red from the UK comics.
Trigger animating Sari is a full circle moment because animated for 100% influenced by flcl
Trigger are MASTERS of scenes where they use pan and zoom to cheat animation out of a still shot, or by properly sliding an image over a background. Like, watch the Shantae opening they did for Seven Sirens and it's a lot of cheat and yet it is so insanely dramatic and kinetic!
Isn't there a scene in Revenge of the Fallen where there is a very damaged Bonecrusher in a shot in the desert.
bonecrusher got his head ripped off, it's not him.
I love that Go got recognition. It really was fun to see the little nod
personally i feel like it would have been a bit more fitting to have the TFOne Orion and D16 shaking instead of the Earthspark version, kind of show things have come full circle for the 2 and brings the past to the present for a better future
Considering animation can potentially take a long time, Trigger may have not had access to the final designs for Transformers One when making the special.
@@R0-83-RT I did figure that would more likely be the case. Still just my opinion but I understand why they would use the current designs at the time
When the world needed him most, he (TJOmega) returned
The shot of the three versions of Prime Prime feel like his three aspects: The Wise Leader, the Powerful Warrior, and the big centerpiece toy :p
No joke I spent the entire video pointing at the screen being like "Look! It's that guy! They put that guy in!". I especially loved how they shoved in the Q-Transformers gang in the "comedic relief character" section, and how literally the only reason I know who they are is because I randomly stumbled upon their series on TFwiki while reading about everything connected to Mystery of Convoy on the Famicom. My favorite scene though is the one with the G1 and BW Optimuses and Megs's fusing into their Transmetal 2 forms, that was just epic
I love Trigger so seeing them animated this was lovely. If there is ever a new TF series fully made by Trigger I will lose my mind.
By Primus! This video had almost every reference possible from the Transformers franchise! G1, BW, BM, Go, Prime, Unicron trilogy, RID 2001,2015, Earthspark, a huge Mashup of Transformers! Had to pause the video several times to see all of it! Even Kremzeek was in there, I missed him! Seriously amazing in all!
It would be great to have reboot from any past Transformers anime series like Beast Wars, Transformers RID, Transformers Energon and Transformers Cybertron so I can see the new improved characters redesigns just like these scenes.
I do like how the Maltos look in this art style, especially Mo. She has normal eyes that isnt sucking out my soul.
Also Sari doing the Kicker pose
Giving everything love was so awesome. Could of used more main characters. Devestator, Soundwave, Shockwave, ironhide, cliffjumper. And more. Still good. Was happy to see the headmaster Jr's. And Ginri
19:20 if so this must have been the crew that worked on Panty and Stocking cause it looks like the animation for the Transformers parody epsisode
I loved it
Bump of Chicken song Acacia was featured in the Pokémon Gotcha! video
People totally ignoring the Kiss Players reference for all the reasons
Wait, there WAS a kiss players reference?! What was it?
@@BaranKRool Just after the Animated Optimus fighting Overlord, there was the G1S3 scene of the back of Dirk Manus' head and Marissa Faireborn getting ready to kiss.
Since the whole music video is a conglomeration of various references and convergences, Marissa is considered in KP before joining the EDC... From a certain point of view!
People need to watch the Trans-homers episode of Panty & Stocking if the haven’t. One of the best pieces of Transformers media. Just be over 18.
The BoC OP appearance was him turning bright colors while being resurrected in contrast to having turned grey when he died, was what I figured. I wouldn't be surprised if it was planned well before the idea of making a physical toy of that was floated, let alone cross-branding it with the band.
Ok, TJ. We need an 1984 to 86 tier list video.
Or just give us the names of your grail fugures from that period.
Pretty cool. Watched it right before this video.
Cyberverse adventures did multi dimensional stuff but only with original characters not going to other transformers fiction
They can't just drop this and Not Make a Series or Movie😭
i am surprised that they didn't put in the Transformers One designs as the two to do the handshake at the end, but someone pointed out that this must've been made before those designs or even the trailers were shown, so makes sense.
13:55 if this shot had WFC and Rescue Bots Optimus, it'd be perfection.
This is amazing!
Watching it with the Lion Transfomers the movie them makes it 10 X better!
I have an alternate soundtrack too. I think I might upload it as a redub.
14:43 Anime bruh 💀 do not try piss on us anime fans bro
I think my favorite part about this is how they treated the generally unfavored parts of the franchise with genuine love and respect.
Someone should make a top 40 transformers list. Pulling from every show, movie, game, and comic.
I can only imagine while Hasbro/Transformers will do for the 50th anniversary ten years from now. :D
My favorite part was Atari and Shaoshao.
Who are they? And in what timestamp are they in?
Legends Manga, there's your multiversal
This the transformers equivalent of the Pokemon music video gotcha. And love it.❤
...Well all I can say is Neeyyaaahhhhh!!!!
- G1 Galvatron from TF S3, Ghost in the Shell, reacting to his absence.
The way I see it Optimus was being revived by BOC's music.
If I had a nick pick I would've replaced TM2 Dinobot death scene with the OG Dinobot
Also I don't think God Ginrai's death was that big of a deal, since well he didn't really die, just sort of changed bodies.
Though I suppose it is a nice visual parellel to Optimus Prime/Convoy's original death.
@@R0-83-RT God Ginrai was upgraded into Victory Leo. Sparks didn't exist at the time.
@@twistedgaming9185 I didn't say otherwise?
the insecticons didnt come up either🤔
Trigger did this for gridman, made a short and we got ssss series
...they can do this for transformers easily come on Trigger!
Well, watcha expect from a studio who packed in tons of references in their Gridman projects; which in themselves feature Transformers references (such as waifu versions of Shattered Glass Megatron and Optimus Prime 😅)?
This was incredible,
Oh man, a Trigger Transformers anime with Trigger human anime shujinkos, aughghghgh...
If you could give it a story, how would you do it?
if only Rescue Bots made it to Japan to complete the references, eh still perfect.
I loved this video so so much
Ngl when I first saw the shot at the 22:00 mark along with those memorable moments I took it as like the point was the tribute?
It may be in poor taste but I genuinely just took it as there was some kind of symbolism to Bump’s prime being its own tribute to those moments in some way
The families also had Denny and Russell Clay. But i can't place the family on the left side of the screen. Is that Kicker's family?
Its Koji's family from R.I.D 2001/Car Robots, at least I assume you're taking about them. They are in the far left when we see Optimus and Megatron are shaking hands, but naturally change perspectives when we see them from the front.
@@R0-83-RT That was a second guess, thanks. Really odd the Burns family wasn't there.
@@lynngreen7978Rescue Bots never aired in Japan, and this was very much so a Japanese-centric promotional video.
I thought the animation style choice for the movie transformers was a reffrence to the Titan Magazine comics.
I’m a bit disappointed that they didn’t reference Alternity, it’s the only Japanese thing I can think of that they didn’t use.
you really know a lot of japanese transformers shows
Great video!!
19:13 that’s not bad animation it is an intentional reference to an old image
If you want a fourth dimensional crossing the Telmocha Beast Wars toys had cross sell fighting against 07 movie bots
Dinobot II my goat
Yeah, the bump of chicken toy commercial the toy commercial that Optimus prime is something has been in the car would do because well they did it also Timmy it kind of feels like it meant to like be like the characters who died like animated prowl is the Optimus prime as well the chest and maybe like vector prime is like the legs For example
Hey TJ your thoughts on Transformers 1? I seen it last week , and twice since! What do you think? I been working so much that havent really had time to talk about it. Let me know Everybody💯😎
I’ve been wondering for a while what season three prime version of Optimus was doing here because they didn’t think that aired in Japan or the design was even used I did not know it was in go
I thought it was supposed to represent the alternative paths for Transformers Prime Optimus prime. The one In Beast Hunters, and the one in Transformers GO.
@@R0-83-RT considering that beast hunters never aired in Japan, I was wondering the context between the inclusion of that design
@@ajerjavec4723 Beast Machines also didn't air in Japan if I'm not mistaken, but it still got representation. Even if it didn't air Japanese transformers fans are probably still aware of Beast Hunters' existence.
I would almost say it is like the US & anglosphere's relationship with Transformers The Head Masters. We are aware G1 continued in Japan even if we didn't have access to it on TV
@@R0-83-RT beast machines did air in Japan but not until 2004 which did cost some continuity issues with Neo, which was resolved with the legends manga with a lot of other continuity issues in Japan
@@ajerjavec4723 I thought it was only available as as DVD or Video; but looking at TF wiki you're right it did release latter on.
