Sadly that means the robe is now legally the new owners property.
It didn't sound like it was stolen. From the story they say it was left in a hotel room. The hotel held onto it at lost and found. No one came to pick it up or inquire about it.
They take multiple trips throughout the episode to various locations looking for different items. It would make sense that he wouldn’t be told exactly what the subject of that trip was until they were going there, and it allows him to tell a story on the way about the significance of the item.

I bet youre fun at parties.
@@danielkinn782 How come? Just because he suggested reporting theft? Your comment has nothing to do with what OP said lmao.
Unfortunately, as much as we would love for Flair to get it back for free since it was stolen and it was his property, the police won't do anything as the statue of limitations in Tennessee (where the robe was stolen) for theft is a maximum 15 years, leaving the robe 10 years past the maximum limitations. Sadly that means the robe is now legally the new owners property.
Find out who stole it and send the Horsemen after them
It didn't sound like it was stolen. From the story they say it was left in a hotel room. The hotel held onto it at lost and found. No one came to pick it up or inquire about it.
Flair had no idea where they were going until that moment? How did you get him in the car? " get in the car Ricky we're going to disneyland.?"
To ride space mountain
It’s a reality show…
If he is under wwe contract (as a legend) he basically goes wherever they tell him to go.
They take multiple trips throughout the episode to various locations looking for different items. It would make sense that he wouldn’t be told exactly what the subject of that trip was until they were going there, and it allows him to tell a story on the way about the significance of the item.

So glad he found it.
1:18 This is curious. We rarely see "El Gigante/Giant Gonzales" matches. Just the infamous Wrestlemania IX match, and a match in Japan against Nailz.
He’s the same guy that fought Taker, right?
@@freddycabrera837 yes with that horrendous body suit. I think Harvey Whippleman(sp) was the heel manager
I like how he has him and Bad Bunny's Chambea plaque in the background.
The “trader” was the guy from Pawn Star with the Brandon Puffer Red Socks World Series Ring.
Yep, it goes to show how orchestrated this value bumper shows are
For real? Just curious...
Seriously?
Yeah he also works with the pawn shop as a dealer. He was never selling the ring, was using the show like a tv advertisement.
I am in the same boat as several others here. If he lost it or last saw it in Johnson City, TN that means flat out it was stolen. You can't pick up a robe like this and be like... hmmm, well there are many like it this one is mine now. If nothing else forget contacting the "owner" and saying is $50k a fair offer; contact law enforcement that you have tracked down stolen property of felony value.
Unfortunately, as much as we would love for Flair to get it back for free since it was stolen and it was his property, the police won't do anything as the statue of limitations in Tennessee (where the robe was stolen) for theft is a maximum 15 years, leaving the robe 10 years past the maximum limitations. Every time I watch these videos, I get chills. Seeing the items and the legends. I'm such an fangirl and I don't even care.
Me too I'm well over a half century old & I still love me some Nature Boy I cried when I saw him in HIS ROBE who had it should give it back it's rics robe wooo

So awesome
As Ric Flair would say Woooooo ,Total legend ,Happy retirement man,Pleased to see him reunited with his butterfly Robe ,Total Legend.
As much as I loved WCW, we should've all known it was doomed when Turner let Herd run off Flair.
Man WWE needs to make a museum to display all these historical collectibles, so much wrestling history can be displayed 👏👏👏
They're supposed to be. That's part of the reason for the show. Of course, I haven't heard anything concrete yet other than show casing them at events like WrestleMania.
@@michiganrailfan2141 a physical museum where we can go visit would be amazing
Flair is the man. What an insane thing to become champion in your debut Royal Rumble match with the new company. I wonder how the rest of the cast of characters felt about this at the time?
Considering the legends in that Rumble, alot of which Flair had worked with before, I bet they were elated for him.
I helped Ric and his wife at the Airport in a company i work at, and he is the most humble person you will ever meet!
he is so nice that you start hating yourself

What I want to know is, why doesn't any of the wrestlers say to the guys who have this stuff "hey, that's my property, you stole it or bought it from someone that stole it so I'm taking it back now or I call the Police!,...and I certainly ain't gonna buy back what was mine in the first place"?!
👎
Some of them have auctioned their items off for charity, sold them to make some money, etc.
@@jacmccauley7581 That would make sense I guess, just odd seeing people offering to buy the stuff back they used to own unless as you say they sold it in the first place.
I'm pretty sure this was the role that was donated back when WCW had a restaurant or something else themed. It might have been Las Vegas?
The guy didn’t steal it it was on luggage for 90 days and was not claimed then he was giving it he the sold it on eBay for $10,000 and then the guy that refused to show his face sold it back to him for capitalized on WWE and Ric Flair really wanting it.
Mr. Flair was always so nice as a kids. He would always just give us money for ice cream whenever he was home. Real nice guy.
Flair could say he wants to meet the seller and then hit him with a figure four leg lock and get the Robe back for free as the guy screams and submits to give it back to the Nature Boy!! WOOOO! Let me produce these segments and I’ll show you what the fans want to see!! 🤣😂🙏❤️
I don't know anywhere else, but in the US a contract made under physical coercion or threat usually isn't enforceable.

I’m surprised Ric didn’t start crying when he saw the robe.. Would love to see part 2 of Ric Flair's Black butterfly robe.
Respectfully @A&E, your claim was incorrect that the Royal Rumble ‘92 being Ric’s debut. That is factually inaccurate. Rich had already been with the then-WWF for about 5 months.

The fact that the seller kept driving a hard bargain was so frustrating. But at least they got it! 🙌

Olivia walker work deserves credit and that butterfly robe is a masterpiece and that robe debuted at clash of champions 6 when ric flair challenges Ricky the dragon steamboat for the nwa world heavyweight championship in a best 2 out of 3 falls match.

First of all the robe was stolen. So technically speaking whoever had it is in possession of stolen property which is against the law that's receiving stolen property which is a felony
If it was lost and found and not claimed after certain time it's fair game

The most influential wrestler of all time. The greatest to ever wrestle and the greatest to ever speak into a microphone. The Nature Boy Ric Flair.
god, I miss the "old school" wrestlers. Hulk Hogan, Andre, suppafly, Flair, Warrior, Hacksaw, Piper, Slaughter, Jake... the list goes on & on. There are so epic many wrestlers that paved the way for what we see now. Great guys & hard workers. Wooooo!! The good ol days
Flair is probably the only man to pull of butterflies in style and in his promos man props to the legend
You'd think since hotel cleaning personnel probably stole it out of his room, that the possessor (who wouldn't show his face, probably because he was involved in the theft) would give em a deal.
This is staged
The owner of this Butterfly Robe seemed like a jerk.
I get he didn't want to part with a HUGE piece of history, but for him to change the deal time and time again when they agreed upon it was ridiculous.
