To my knowledge, none of the good guys know that she's being brainwashed by Talon. (One of the reasons why she's blue is due to Moira's experiments on her to make her the way she is.) And from my guess she's like Angel Dust from Hazbin Hotel. He didn't choose to be a Gay Porn Star, he NEEDS to be that just so he can survive. Much like him, Amelie is likely not choosing to be this way out of pleasure, but more likely, out of fear. Yes, in the first cinematics, it looked like she was completely gone, but overtime, it seems like there's hope. Hope for the real Amelie Lacroix to return.
Oh my gosh I just thought of something😱…what if Emily Lacroix was pregnant when talon took her and experimented on her. That caused her to loose the baby and she secretly blamed her husband for making her a target and that tiny bit of resentment activated the sleeper agent experiment which terned her into widowmaker
Widowmaker or Amélie was one married to a man named Gérard Lacroix who was an overwatch agent. After numerous failed attempts to get Gérard, she got kidnapped by Talon and brainwashed. After she was rescued by Overwatch, her programming kicked in and she murdered her husband. She disappeared and Overwatch thought she got kidnapped again and her husband was murdered by someone else. Later down the line, Widow and Ana had a face off. Ana could have eliminated her but hesitated when she realized that Widowmaker was really Amélie Lacroix. Widow shot Ana in the eye which is why Ana only has one eye and a grudge against widow. Moira also experiments or experimented on Widow to make her emotionless but the game shows that she still has feelings even though she wouldn't admit that. She visits her husband's grave and she remembers things that he liked.
Lacroix was kidnapped, experimented on and brainwashed, essentially reprogrammed to assassinate her husband for Talon's benefit. Moira's work ruined her, she was just a normal woman in love who was forced into a life she never wanted, something which she believes she can never come back from. It's wild that some folks can't see past the surface.
