Don't *kill* armadillos for scutes. Use brush. That way you can "harvest" one armadillo forever. Also, to remove the dog armour, use shears. Dog armours can be dyed. 😊
I have so many scutes!! All i did was breed a few and let them run around. It's literally annoying how many I collect just running around my base now 😂

The black-and-blue blocks you couldnt harvest in the game are called sculk, (which can be harvested with hoes, i believe) and were added as a part of Caves and Cliffs. There are a few types of it you should know of in case you find yourself exploring a Deep Dark biome, where it naturally thrives. Regular sculk and sculk vines are found all over the cave walls, and have taken over most of the visible stone in the Deep Dark. Sculk Catalysts are the block you tried to mine with your pickaxe but couldnt pick up. Their gimmick is that if any kind of mob dies within the radius of the catalyst, the mob spreads sculk blocks around it like a virus. Sculk Sensors look like slabs with tentacles coming out of the top of it, and will make a low sound if ANY noise is made within its radius, yes, any. You can avoid triggering a sensor by either crouching, walking on wool, or just breaking it outright. But i will warn you, breaking it will also make noise and alert nearby sensors. Sensors are though, completely harmless on their own. If they're accompanied by a Sculk Shieker however, its a different story. Shriekers appear to look like slabs with fangs or something pertruding the top with a void-like middle, and will make a high-pitched screaming sound if its either alerted by a nearby Sculk Sensor, or if you step on it. If the manages to scream 3 times... Its too late, for he is already here.

great show: 1. audio levels are fine. most believe the sound of their own voice is the most important thing, but the levels you are using puts us in there with you without being overwhelming or having us not be there at all; 2. boating a thing will keep it around; 3. endermen are real easy to kill (even without armor IF you plan ahead) in two ways - boat it, then it can't chase you, OR remember that endermen are 3 blocks high so either dig a narrow hole into the side of a hill, stand under the leaves of a 3-high tree (meaning you can walk under it), or make a freestanding ceiling 3 blocks high and three square then stand under the middle of it. do any variation of these things leaving a block empty between you and it while you smack it to death from relative safety...
The spooky dark thing that gave you lots of XP can be mined with Silk Touch hoes. The biome they spawn in is called the Deep Dark and the only hostile mob that can spawn there is the Warden after you've triggered a Shrieker more than 3 times. The ways to avoid triggering the Shriekers is either sneaking or walking on wool blocks.
Those xp blocks are part of the deep dark, be careful breaking blocks in those areas. you only need to wear i item of gold armour along with regular when your in the nether. Level 59 mining for diamond, you can find more in caves just not as safe. Cook logs in furnace if you run out of torches in caves. You need silk touch to pick up some blocks. To convert z-villagers you need splash potion of weakness and gold apple, to prevent despawn, they either hold something or name tag them. also boat, or minecart prevents de-spawning. Use boat on ender men then kill them.

Oh thats why the music was changing with the enviornment, i thought the game was doing that😂, its rare to see youtubers putting so much effort in making such quality gaming content. Loved the last 2 expedition eps. Would to see more of that type, probably when you explore the new nether biomes. Also the new black blocks is sculk, its should have an ancient city nearby. I havent explored it myself ingame, but watching gameplay of it was interesting. If you do plan to explore it, lol, be sure to set a spawn nearby before starting😉
@@fogey_ true, i do that too when exploring, but if you feel like you are about to die, best to place the bed and set the spawn point right there. I know you would get spawn killed a bunch of times, but atleast it beats travelling 10k blocks or even losing your stuff forever.
Doors are your best friends in underwater situations. You dont have to kill an armadillo you can make a a few brushes and brush them for the item to make the dogf armor or just follow them around until they shed some like chickens lay eggs. all zombies will not pick up and hold an item. make a boat and have it get in. 1. Thorns is a great enchantment for Armour along with regular protection 4 those to enchantment together make you and your armor practically invincible. Thorns deals the damage mobs deal to you back at them. Mobs have died from hitting me with thorns 3 protection 4 on all my diamond gear 2. Those blue block what have you XP were “ skulk “they spawn in the deep dark and ancient cities!! Please be careful coming into contact with skulk as there may be shreikers around. If you set off a shreikers 4 time a warden will spawn.. warden are THE hardest boss to defeat. If you see a warden RUNN do not try to kill him because it’s take forever to kill him and he can attack from long distances with his “sonically charged shreiks” and you will die even with fulllu enchanting armor.
For enderman safety, you could prepare to jump into the river should your health get too low. Or stand in the river a couple blocks from the shore during the entire fight, since it can't follow you into water. I really enjoy the series!
During the expedition he could have set the bed and clicked on it to set spawn right there. But he switched to food which takes time😂. Lol 10k journey back must have been excruciating. Also going under 2 block high trees or even blocks helps too.

Also its fun to experience new stuff and find new things in game through advancements. You could look at them from time to time and try to figure out how to get them by exploring new stuff. The same goes for checking crafting table recipies from time to time

Excellent as usual, I don't know if 1.21 has some way of storing XP or not. Haven't got into it in a real way yet trying to upgrade my old world to 1.21 Ive a few mods to update yet and some I'll have to wait to be updated

I'm surprised that there were no sensors or shriekers there, but if you make a shrieker go off 3 times by making pretty much any sound at all, the warden will spawn and he's super strong and scary!

Some more technical tips: The spawning of mobs has been altered. They used to spawn in light level 7 or lower. Now it needs to be 0 (Exceptions are in the nether and backup zombies). Diamond ore generation has not been changed. Y=16 and lower, but the lower you go, the more plenty they are. Non-deepslate diamond ore has actually became very rare :)
There are 3 ways to keep a mob from despawning, a nametag, if they pickup an item or apply arrmour, or when you put them in a boat. Which was possible since you were in a mineshaft. Btw: only 50% of the mobs take items.
you just found deep dark biome. rather small one at that. be careful! (you can put those sombies in a boat, and they will not despawn) Spoiler alert! . . . . . there are dungeons with boss creature you can't handle right now
criticism i guess: 1. 22:31 missed diamonds (right corner) 2. your editing style is better than average - and about the background music - just do what you think will be good to add in the video 3. slow and steady does win the race but sometimes it is important to speed up the progress so that we can enjoy the game better with our upgrades 4. you can kill an Enderman by placing a boat next to it and it will get stuck in the boat making it easy to kill 5. if you wanna make the episodes big then its important to share more parts of your life in the video or tell stories rather than just saying ''look i'm mining'' or ''look i'm running'' types of sentences 6. making a cow farm and a small wheat farm will solve the food problem easily 7. (personal opinion) never stream on Twich cause its a platform which exposes underage children to unethical content which can lead them to very destructive habits
Episode 10 in the works now, finally building my 'starter' home... something most UA-camrs would have had done within the first 20 minutes...

You need to wear gold armor when your in the nether so that piglins don't attack you. Additionally you can trade with piglins via golden ingots

You can harvest skulk only with silk touch.
When endermen first came out the advice I heard was to aim at the feet (which I think is because it doesn't make them mad and teleport)

I think my issue was I sleeping every night, then destroying the bed to bring with me breaking my spawn point lol. Glad you enjoyed the videos!

You are really good at killing creepers
They changed spawning rules. You only need one torch for the spawner and mobs spawn only in complete darkness.
You can cure zombie villagers with a splash potion of weakness and a golden apple
Coal rarely spawns at the deepslate level, so you'd better go there prepared.
Not all zombies can pick up items. If he didn't pick the first item up he can't pick any up.

You need to go under the mountain next time. The part of that green stuff you saw was small and did not contain nothing that it could contain...

If you want to know a block's name without mining it, press F3 and look in the mid-right area. "Targeted block"
