Crazy what a good detail can do to a vehicle. It almost looks new again!
Hope you guys have a great weekend! Be sure to check out my other channel - The Yard Geek!
I used to be a carpet cleaner. You probably should dye the carpet… we did. Almost all carpet cleaners do.
It looks brand new!
@@TheDetailGeek you have a great weekend as well!!
Kid-trashed vehicles are honestly my favorite to watch on this channel 😂
How long for the carpet/Upholstery to dry usually?
Am i the only one who thinks this color on the vehicle is underrated? Thats a beautiful shade of green.
Yep. Classic soothing shades that will never go out of style. Think old mustangs, Aston Martins or Jaguars. I wish we would see more of this & less grey or white.
I had a Trailblazer almost the same green, it was a bit more of a midnight green and so beautiful 💚 I miss my Blaze lol
Oh ya, my RAV4 2013 has the same kind of green and I just love it. Seems like a not so common color, making it a little bit more unique than the others!
We had a 2014 Ford F-150 with the same green colour. That colour didn’t last long enough. It is a beautiful colour!
My 13 f150 is in that color. I still get compliments on it today
In our country, it's a common practice to pay someone to clean your car (a simple rug and random soap) but because of your videos, i started cleaning my car on my own and pay attention to details. It's time consuming but I'd like to think it's a form of exercise.
I have also never been this early (6 mins from uploading)
Welcome to the satisfying world of detailing! Once most people get into it, it becomes an obsession but your car and your pride are always the winners.
Totally agree
It looks like the kids weren't the only messy ones! Lol.
@@ardenehanson2840Easy to blame the kids, lol
I love the vintage cars, but I have missed the kid demolition cars. 😂
Kids can do way more damage than decades of abandonment 😂
WOW! What a job! I was a taxi driver Mom when my brats were growing up but my Van ALWAYS stayed clean because the kids knew Momma don't play, plus I would pay any kid that saw another kid throw trash on the floor and they would get a quarter to be a snitch! Believe me they were happy to throw each other under the bus! With kids you have to be consistent and let them know upfront what is expected of them! Their is no excuse for letting a vehicle get that trashed! Great job Mr Mitch, as always! 👍👍👍👍
And I hope your kids thanked you for being a parent when they were growing up.
My parents didn't need to pay us to snitch. If we wanted to snitch, snitch we did with no reward other than seeing the snitched upon get into trouble. But, when it came to the family cars, it was never an issue. We knew the rules and just didn't make a mess. There was always a bag in the car for trash and we knew to use it "or else", and we didn't want the "or else".
Step 0. Find a buddy
Step 1. Choose between one of you
Step 2 (optional). Have the chosen one litter
Step 3. Have the other one snitch
Step 4. Get 25¢
Step 5. Repeat step 1 until desired amount
Step 6. Split the money evenly
Step 7. Profit
Kid haulers are always fun to watch. There is no way to justify that kind of mess.
I’ve started at my own detailing business because of you thank you, Mitch!
Are you in IL?
Fantastic!
Good luck with your new business
It’s nice watching the same kind of vehicle you have be detailed. It give ya good tips on how to keep it looking appreciated👌🏼
100% agree with you about dying the carpet. That is not something I would ever consider as included in a detail service. And as in the example you gave, it's certainly a service you COULD provide for an additional cost, if requested.
Absolutely. It's not his job to retouch lost paint either, which I would consider part of that same category. Detailing is cleaning what is there, not replacing/restoring what isn't! :)
Yer, it's like asking the cleaner to proved a maintenance/gardeners service with no extra pay. ❤ your videos, it's now part of my weekly ritual, "along with my cars weekly clean".
100% this. It'd be an add-on, and at his discretion. Dying man made synthetic materials is not generally very effective.
Indeed. Dying carpet is not normally included in a detail service. It certainly COULD be done for an additional fee if the customer requests it, but that doesn’t necessarily mean it SHOULD be done. If a customer asks to have the vehicle’s carpet dyed, then that’s between the customer and the detailer.
You do such a wonderful job and I thoroughly enjoy your videos. While I understand mud and muck, I don't understand the dumping and leaving of trash in a vehicle. These people aren't teaching their children to respect and take care of things. Thank you for sharing your world.
kids are messy regardless
@@giulianagambinoo Not that messy. Mine never were, and I raised 2 boys. If something was spilled, it was cleaned up by me when they were very young, and by them when they were older. It's a matter of teaching them discipline and respect. No need to leave trash in the car. That's just lazy.
Finally a kid/mom dirty car!
This better than abandoning dirty vehicles. Those aren’t the same dirtyness. These hit better.
I was getting tired of abandoning vehicles videos/ old cars falling apart.
Me too!! I prefer these vehicles.
Agreed
Absolutely! Me too. These videos are so satisfying. Great call on the discoloration and awesome job!
Agree, thats junkyard stuff, lipstick on a pig. We want to see peoples daily driven cars, not resto
I was just thinking how nice it is to watch a car get cleaned and not have to worry if the paint is going to come off before the dirt does.
HELLO MITCH: That was a very heavily muddy vehicle!!!! Thank you for all of your hard work, bringing it back to looking brand new. Have a great weekend.
Mitch, your videos are the best. I really enjoy the Yard Geek vids, too. I don't watch other detailers, so I don't know if they do it, but instead of the before and after shots, can you do a fade in- fade out to show the transformation? Like, a view of the clean then it gets dirty, or vice versa. Thanks for what you do, it's great to watch.
Green is definitely an underrated colour for cars.
Hey Mitch,
The SUV looks good again!!!
As Always Amazing!!!❤
Holy moly that was a very crazy detail. Well done Mitch
If they treat their vehicle like this their Mitch, just imagine their home on where that they live. Sure places and homes or vehicles can be a bit untidy, but nothing too this kind of extremity.
But over and above all their Mitch, i sincerely hope that you have set them some kind of standard of cleanliness. From NSW,Australia 🇦🇺 👍😎👍, and another awesome job well done, and i also hope that they appreciate the awesome work that you have put into this particular vehicle.
That is embarrassing, who brings in a car looking like that? Some people are just ludicrous! That was a very soothing transformation Mitch, great job. Have a nice weekend! 😃
Hey Botdog, have a great weekend!
@@joelbuchanan471 you as well Joel!
I love that you don’t rush things, you always take the time to get every little detail possible, always awesome Mitch 👏
plot twist its actually Mike doing all the work and Mitches Voice over
He has 3.5 million subscribers and his own shop he doesn't have to rush, his content and methods are solid.
Dust and exterior dirt I understand if you drive gravel roads a lot. But the interior… oh my. Well, I guess this is your bread and butter clientele and if it wasn’t this bad they wouldn’t come to see you. The knife was a head scratcher though, I’d want something bigger for defence! Another fine detail and another satisfied viewer. Thank you Mitch!❤
Glad you enjoyed it!
Hello there Detail Geek. It is always so good to see you. This car looked like a trash dumpster and I can't understand why people let there vehicle look like that. Some people should be ashamed of there selves. But thank goodness for Detail Geek for having the courage to clean these nasty cars. I really admire your hard work and dedication because it is very outstanding. Thank you so very much for everything you do. Enjoy your day and take care
There is no reason anyone’s car should get this disgusting.
Kids ruined it
Kids can be nasty as hell
Ours was never like that when our children were young.
Yes there is! It's called PURE LAZINESS
Some people have problems that can cause this kind of thing, you absolutely don't have the right to judge people like that
Despite my husband working full time for the emergency services, living in the country and having two children our car was never dirty.
Look at you patting yourself on the back... everyone's life is different!
@@pamschaller3651 I don't think I am in a position to pat myself on the back. I am 72, I have a brain tumour, osteoarthritis, heart problems etc. My husband always said that if the car was cleared of debris it is easier for the ambulance service etc to deal with patients' injuries should they be in a major car crash. It is nothing to do with being proud it is to do with hygiene.
My guess is they drove this straight from there to a car lot to trade it in on something new they can trash due to laziness.
Love your channel. Been following for years now. I do love the idea you understand electronics and liquid cleaners. As I’ve been working for Ford for over 12 years now. In the parts dept. I see every screen that comes in from a vehicle that is damaged from a recent detail. I mentioned this on Stauffer detail channel and was told they are designed to accept being cleaned with chemicals and not damage them. Contrary to unpopular statements they are not. And you know this. The very reason you detail the way you do. Every time we get a touch screen in that’s water damaged the customer is in it for the full cost of a new one. And lesson learned for the customer to find a new detailer. For what isn’t damaged immediately usually results in time from the exposure to cleaning chemicals and moisture. No doubt also the buttons and switches on both the door panels and steering wheels. Along with the blinker stems that operate wiper blades. Electronics and moisture don’t mix. Period. 500 to 1500 for a new touch screen or lcd display is very expensive for UA-cam likes. Especially to the customer. Keep up the great videos.
Beautiful work!!!!! Sad how people trash their cars.
Awesome. I love that green. You don't see that color often. Awesome work, as always, Mitch. I look forward to seeing your video each week. :)
Yet another satisfying detail ❤❤ so clean 🧼 so nice 😊
You did it again this car went from funky to fabulous
Might be rust and could come up. however as a carpet cleaner I hate when people get picky about the stuff that very rarely comes up, with the craziest of chems and techniques. The pants comparison is a good one I usually say it’s like trying to clean a pair of shoes that needs a new sole
Crazy how it looks like a brand new car with all your hard work! Nice job! 👍😎
Good luck on this detail, Mitch (aka Detail Geek). Let's show Mitch some love for his business.
I like how U Say his Name/Title... like We don't know it.😂
I'm a detailer at a gm dealership and my favorite part is also pressure washing
Great job Mitch! The exterior color was astonishing when done.
The dry cleaning example is a good one. Alterations are an additional service with an additional cost. Detailing the engine bay is an additional service for an additional cost. Hey, you could replace cracked windshields, too. But you don't. But you could. But, but, but
🎯🎯🎯🎯🎯🎯🎯🎯 Absolutely right Shannon!
Good morning Shannon, Nice explaining. 👍😊 Have a beautiful day and a wonderful weekend.
Exactly. It’s like when people comment asking me if I change cabin air filters too…..like what?? You expect me to have hundreds of different air filters for all makes and models on hand? Really? 🤦🏻♂️😂
From conversations that I have had with neighbour's and friends, they are under the impression that having a ceramic coat and interior protecter means you don't need to clean your car regularly. I think people associate protective coats with stain and rust resistance as well. Or they just get used to smells and are visually blinkered 😂.
Another great job Detail Geek!! For the people say you should dye the carpet. If they would take little care on their car it wouldn’t happen.
Great job Mitch!
It’s finally another Friday ❤❤❤ thank you Mitch for another entertaining video 😊 enjoy your weekend Mitch 🎉
Oh so that's what green looks like.Amazing job Mitch
I have to say I used to really love seeing the finished vehicle outside your house. The paint work always had amazing shine....😊
I get that your car gets dirty and dusty, but for the love of god, throw away the garbage!!!!!
Another great video.
As my late father said, "If you want to know how clean someone's house is, look at their front porch and inside their car." If their front porch or car was disgusting, he said, "I will never eat dinner at their house."
Ha! Looked like the Eddie Bauer edition😂 Fantastic transformation, as always!
Thanks! 😃
the most used word in Geek videos; " disaster! lol
Brusque - Santa Catarina - Brazil ❤
O pessoal daí gosta de fazer o carro de lixeira, aqui no Brasil ninguém iria entrar num carro desses, ótimo final de semana , um abraço.
This is a type of mess that I never have to deal with in my car since I don't have kids. Also I'm OCD about the car being clean. I do daily drive a older car but the interior is like new or very good since I don't have any bad habits.
Detail geek is the best detail UA-camr out there always keeps it different and new love it!
great job Mitch fantastic result...
Wow Mitch, what a transformation !! Better than New !!!!
It looks brand new!! Great job❤
Thanks for the upload.
This carpet material looks indeed like some crappy foam or something. I think if I had a lifestyle that would guarantee a dirty vehicle, I would add an extra layer made of some kind of bathroom carpets that I could clean every couple of months in the washing machine.
Also doing an ozone treatment is many times an extra charge but we've seen you do it for particularly smelly vehicles
I dont know who else does this but what i do is fall asleep whilst watching this channel and it keeps me nice and calm and sends me to sleep well quicker then watching other stuff on youtube. Love your videos. Thanks
In England that’s called a “ full valet” , a detail is what you have done plus 1 or several stages of paint correction/ polishing depending on clients requirements, and cost .
Quality detail. 🔨😎🤘🏻 Nice work, Mitch.
Our previous family vehicle was one of these. We have the current body style now. I was and still am constantly putting back to black on that cladding and polishing the chrome on the door trim and tailgate high maintenance areas… nice job! Enjoy the weekend!!
We feel it. "You make the sun come out"
❤
Wow, what a transformation!
Amazing jobb, dont understand why people eat in the car. Verry nice video 🤩🙂🙂
Amen to not eating in the car!
I can watch you clean for hours, no matter how gross the vehicles are 😅
That's the idea, if they were almost clean to start with, it wouldn't be worth watching.
Now that’s an another fantastic and epic transformation.❤
I saw a video that a detail company that makes detailing products that you always soap the car with a foam cannon first then hit it with the pressure washer. They say that pressure washing it like you are doing actually scratches the paint and foaming it first encapsulates the dirt preventing the grains of dirt from forcing its way into the clear coat. Thoughts?
I spray degreaser on the dirty areas of the vehicle, then pressure wash it off, then the actual wash and final rinse method
That's what you call a bae bae kids SUV 😂😂. "Fantastic job" 😍
My mom has had her 2013 Toyota Siena for ten years. It has NEVER gotten that bad💀
Mitch, I'm hoping that, when it's done, you can have that SUV that was left sitting for 42 years back in to see what happened after the restoration that's going to be done with it. Just so, that way, we can see the TRUE before-and-afters for it.
Salute Morning Mitch, always relaxing and fun to watch your details, peace!
are all cars in canada really this dirty all time, just crazy!
I see a lot of newer explorers missing that same piece mostly on the passenger side its a plastic part cheaply installed
How I wish I have a pressure washer and tools that you use to clean my car. sana all!
This look amazing! The transformation of Ford Explorer looks 100% clean and perfect as well, I wonder you could detail the Ford Taurus one day, it's a reliable mid size sedan that has been america's best selling vehicle over the decades when it was launched in late 1985 as a 1986 model year along its twin sister model Mercury Sable. The Taurus has been one of my favorite cars in my memories, sadly they don't make them anymore, the Taurus was discontinued in 2019. It was a hero car that saved Ford Motor Company from bankruptcy back in the 80s and overall the Mercury Sable was very much the same as Ford Taurus but until in 2009, Mercury retired the Sable permanently as a slowest selling vehicle in the us market, However I enjoy your video Mitch and have a great weekend.
@2:31 Harry Potter has a wand, too... 🤤🤤🤤🤤
I agree this explorer looks absolutely amazing
wow what a detail !
A parent or parents should always have a trash bag in the their car this way no junk in the car like pop ect
kids wouldnt use it either way
I lived in rural Saskatchewan, with 2 pre-school age kids. My cars NEVER looked like this. Thanks Mitch for helping these poor dear incompetents hit the re-start button
theres a cool word in the dictionary called "empathy", you should look it up
Nice Job Mitch...I have a Black 2018 Explorer that is Pampered not Abused . I would have liked to see you do a paint correction on the hood just to see what is possible, well maybe next time.
Liking the older music like the older videos! Great detail
Looks like the extractor and the steamer is going to get a big time workout eh!
I still remember the absolute disaster of detail on kid hauler in the past.
I follow you since a Year or more! And I always wondering why you never take off the wheels so you can clean them better? And also clean all the wheel well? Theres might be some spot that still dirty.
Damn mitch Is funny, because k know how much he prefers the plastic liners rather than the carpet liners 😅😂😂🤣🤣🤣🥲
Hi, Mitch.
You seem to have a stock (royalty-free?) playlist that you use for your videos - do you know what songs the tracks are tributes to?
Since I am looking this channel I much more often get my car to the car wash and use more often the vacuum cleaner on it. Also we do this with my wifes car. Saw all these dirty cars and was so inspired always to have a clean car now XD. Car was never so messed up like the cars here, but these videos gave me one reason more to take care about our cars. They are like family members...
Awesome Job....
I detailed a newer Chevy Suburban which turned out to be a similar deep green like this. I love the deep green color.
I like these videos where an actual family is helped. I’d love to see a series of deserving families being given free detailing to make their lives a little better.
Good job ❤❤❤❤❤❤😊
I personally miss those content in recent videos where you take those finished vehicles outside your garage to get beautiful transformation shots in natural light. I kindly request you to bring those back. Big fan of your content and it is kind of a therapy for me to get to sleep faster. ♥all the way from India
I think no matter what you say about the carpet shampooing cleaning I think it looked great considering what a big mess it was!
Anyway the stain you can throw the carpet mat down nobody will see it!
You do a great job on all the cars you detail!!!
I’ve learned a lot by watching you!
Beautifully done you’re always doing excellent job detailing. It’s always a pleasure to watch your videos
Hello Mitch! Another outstanding detail this week! A question I’ve had for years is when you detail these vehicles are you using multiple cameras? And do you film the entire process or only segments?
Looking forward to seeing your comment and more videos! Amazing work!
- Chris
I wonder when there’s gonna be a Mrs. Detail Geek to help edit all your videos! 😂
Not me thinking it was black haha
I just dont understand how cars get this bad i mean i have 4 kids and its never gotten to this point. I taught my kids to take everything with yhem after every time they exit the car
Is that Explorer Dark green or is it black. Another excellent detail job Mitch.
It's green! It's a little more evident in the thumbnail picture
Just detailed our 09 Civic that we are giving to our grandsons. I put a video AFTER on FB. I began detailing cars back when my OCD began with my first car. I give Mitch much thanks for product information and rexh tips.
Wow!!!!!!!! Great job. The car looks like new.
As dirty as the interior was you should have turned the pressure washer on the inside
19:25 wasn’t expecting there to be that much chocolate milk from that corner section. 🍫
I can see some kid coming unglued because they watched you clean their car and then said, "HEY!!! THE DETAIL GEEK JUST THREW AWAY MY GLOVE!"
