Seeing how you approach the play stage really is helpful. You say you’re not liking anything yet and that’s ok. You just keen going and exploring, helping your students see that the play stage gives us total freedom to do random stuff with no outcome in mind.
I find it very illuminating to watch you paint. I often feel like you are creating a new language, made up of lights and darks, shapes and colours. Heartfelt thanks.
I was soooooo happy to hear you say you don't typically like your work during the play stage bc I pretty much hate my pieces until they come together toward the end. Something clicks, and by the end I love it. It's such an emotional process lol. 🎢

The little dash marks and the black shapes reminds me of clothing patters, very appealing.
Yes - my mother was a pattern maker and I love to sew :)
I was thinking the same thing as I watched you work :) Really like the variations.

Very happy to see this return to improvisation basics after being overwhelmed with weekly encaustic lessons…!
Black marker marks remind me of those cut out paper dolls you can change their clothes of. Thanks for sharing your process, Pam!! 💖
Love this, Pamela. Will you show us the rest of creating this painting? Thank you! 💖
