The TRX-4 Sport combines the unbeatable ground clearance and driving dynamics of Traxxas portal axles, sticky Canyon® Trail tires, and a lightweight pickup truck body for a leaner, performance-focused new TRX-4. The Sport’s unique bumpers, wheels, and body were designed for increased maneuverability in technical sections. Compared to the TRX-4 Defender and Bronco, below are the biggest changes:
- Same wheelbase as the Bronco
- Better crawling due to lighter body and new bumpers
- Locked metal diffs and single speed transmission with transfer case
- Defender & Bronco ($450), Tactical ($420), Sport ($340)
- Still has steel chassis frame and links & aluminum shocks
- Has portal axles with all metal gears
- Accessory inner fenders, expedition rack, led lights, scale stuff
- New wheels with soft tires
Seems like a great value for someone looking for a dedicated crawler or trail truck with an upgrade path to the Bronco/Defender for remote locking diffs and the remote shifting transmission. I need to get one for my son. Less moving parts = less maintenance.

I like the idea of performance first!!! I have been avoiding Axial due to the new owners. Don't get me wrong, I have nothing against the new owners of Axial and still love the SCX10 II very much!!! It's just shy of unstoppable!!! I decided to go back to Traxxas after they lowered the price tag on the new Rock N' Roll Rusty. So I am very excited to see this new rig running a little more performance for the serious rock lines, vs the Scale Trail side!!! ;)
The tires are great on the Sport, but overall the Defenders is a way better value overall... still.
So can you lock tge diffs or drive in fast mode with the sport one too ?

BlueMagic 420 it's so hard to get quality in our country these days that's not an issue for traxxas...ive had bad parts nothing is guaranteed with electronics especially what we put our rc.s through lol..but to call them and the first response is name and address for replacement in my mind all I can think is wow service and you talk to a human not robot answering service lol I'm glad you notice this as well I'm proud to own there products😊
Great customer service. My stampede antenna holder assembly wouldn't hold my antenna cover on, no matter what I did. I called traxxas, they sent me a new assembly and 4 new tubes with 4 new top protectors. Amazing customer support.
Beautiful simple body, there can not break much in the terrain.

Defender 110 Sport? Bronco Sport??? Just sayin!... . . .
This Sport at $340 is pretty impressive when you compare prices with the SCX10 II! The Deadbolt is $300 & the Honcho is $320. For the entry level of Scale Trail. So I see the Sport as a win-win!!! Now add the Defender 110 Sport and Bronco Sport to the entry level of price tags, and I will buy all 3!!! ;)
The defender and bronco bodys would look great, but would be more expensive and have a higher c of g because they are way heavier

I agree with most comments that the body has a cheap appearance. A licensed body with light buckets would be a huge improvement. Traxxas really should know to use clear windows and light buckets for scalers instead of stickers.

Definitely the best body option of the trx4 line
Scaled back drivetrain options, not surprising since there is a market for spool lockers and single speed transmissions.
Shouldn't suffer performance wise, not a bad body but I hope the inner fenders is an option to add on.
Really this is a logical step to take for the TRX-4. Price will be competitive with the other brands of near same configuration..

What if you want a TRX 4 without high/low and locking Diffs when you already have that. Just buy the sport body and you'll get the chassis free?

This is a stripped down trx4 brotha, it doesn’t have the lock n unlocking diffs, doesn’t have the two speed transmission, no wheel wells on the chassis or on the body, all the servos that work everything r gone, it’s a cheap version of the trx4 for people that won’t spend the money, but they won’t be getting anything but a scx10 named traxxas Lol!
STEVO D 313 Scx10 doesn't have portal axles or forward mounted motor

The Front grill looks a bit like the Redcat Gen7 if you ask me...
Is it a new body or you have to build it?
