I have to wonder if part of the reason that JID is so consistently pushing forward flows and delivery is because he doesn't listen to this type of music so he doesn't realize how ahead of the game is technically. There are very few rappers as technically skilled as him at this moment and I don't think he knows that so he just keeps growing and doesn't compare himself to anyone else. No "Well my album is better than that" or "This one might be a little better but it's close", he's just kinda like "No awards, not really popping off, gotta do better".
Jid is 34. I really wish he was younger to carry hip hop after the kendricks and drakes retire but he is around their age range. He is still dope though. Hip hop needs a new young generation to keep hip hop away from the sexy red era😐. Kendrick, eminem, cole and jid keeping hip hop alive
the difference is JID is still actively improving constantly, you could make an argument that all four of those have peaked (I personally dont think kdot has) but JID is 100% still gettin better
