This is amazing, thanks for sharing !
Would you know how to evolve that set of GN in order to convert an object into cardboard? like let's say you have a very low poly model of a house, it creates the sandwitch and the waves based on the orientation of the faces
Keep going with the cool work !

for something like a house you would only really see the perforated edges on the roof so you could take two squares with this GN. And then the body of the house can just be a cube with a shader to mimic the outside of the cardboard

Dude. Super simple execution. Great explanation, too. Thanks.

This tutorial is exactly what I need for a project I am working on so thank you! One question, the "curve line" you use for the wavy inner portion, does the curve line node automatically create it or did you draw it with a draw tool? In your video, that yellow straight line just appears when you click the "Curve Line" node. When I generate the curve line node, nothing appears. Also, at the bottom of your "Resample Curve" node, it says "length .006m". Mine says "Count 2". Am I doing something wrong? Thank you for sharing this.

no problem. The inner wavey curve is indeed made in the geo nodes (not draw tool). It is made with resample curve. If your curve is 'count 2' it won't have enough vertices to make it wavey so you'll want to switch the mode to 'length' like i do in the video with the dropdown in the node.

Every part of the process is in the video so you should be able to see how its done. If not - you can always download my project file on my Patreon.
