I'm currently having a hard time deciding between the CRex and the Jensen for the Blues Jr. I'm getting ready to order. In this video the CRex sounds more forgiving, but maybe less inspiring, while the Jensen sounded punchy (especially on the high end), but not bad enough that it can't be dialed in because it otherwise sounds better and more articulate to me. Granted, this is UA-cam, and things get very compressed.
Sounds great. My local amp tech suggested I put a Cannibis Rex in my blues Jr years ago. he also did a couple of other things that I don’t quite remember but.:.I love it. When compared to a friend of mine‘s blues, Junior has sounded like angels are coming out of the speaker compared to his stock amp.
Hi Uli, your vintage Eminence speakers sounds to be something else. Isn't it a bit overdue that you put out some video of you playing them? 😉 BTW, I just came home from a week in Kassel, Germany. Is that in your neighbourhood? All the best, Thor
The Cannabis Rex speaker is warm and smokey! I have a cab with 2 Jensen C10Q speakers but I prefer my two hemp coned Tony Tubby speakers for basically the same reason. On another note, the P90 in your Epiphone has such a throaty sound or mid focused sound. I'm not such I'm describing it correctly but it's very distinctive and powerful.
Hi, Christopher what kind of amp are you using with your speaker cabs? I found that my Tweed (20W) is not that good through the Cannabis Rex, but was more in the ballpark when I play through the Jensen. And, oh yeah, I think the P90 in the Epiphone is something else. Mark from Evil Sheep pickups did such a great job on finding the sought after tone I described to him. All the best, Thor
@@GUITARSGIZMOS my only amp at this point is a 69 Bandmaster Reverb with an old 2x12 Sunn cab. I will test out the Jensen's again when I have a moment.
@@50Something Oh, I was looking for a Bandmaster at one point in time. I think I was told they were a Twin Reverb's little brother? I guess yours is a Silverface if it is a 69? Have you done any mods to it? There is a quite informative webpage on Fender amps that has a section on your amp here: fenderguru.com/amps/bandmaster/
@@GUITARSGIZMOS Hello Thor, yes, it's the second year of the Silver Face amps. What I love is the sag from the tube rectifier. The amp is essentially a Super Reverb with a smaller transformer and it sounds pretty amazing! I have never had the amp modded and hope it works forever
Seriously, when you are doing a side-by-side of two amps, PUT A CLEAR LABEL ON EACH ONE AND DISPLAY THAT WHEN YOUR ARE PLAYING THAT ONE! Which one the user is hearing is never as obvious as you think it is.
Why is there tremolo on your comparisons? I find it difficult to focus on the speaker with a warbling tone.

Thor, it is nice to see you again. Wonderful playing. Thanks
Thank you, and I'm happy to see you here Yuanchao Pei 😊 All the best, Thor
Gold as usual, Thor! Outstanding stuff!
Great playing.

Stupid tremolo ruined the experience.
