@@richardbause2453I've never known that to be the case for where I grew up (La, MO) where one of the oldest swing train bridges is located 😆 now, I have known them to collide, unfortunately.

If you are researching a drone for yourself, Ill just say you tend to get what you pay for, so it's better to get through the pain of a higher purchase price than end up with something less expensive but you don't like and don't use it.
I think it's so amazing! I grew up on the Mississippi though, so I think that makes a big difference. Most females don't get the same awe as I do! Trains & barges/boats. I always wonder where they're going & where they're coming from!
Thanks! I think the average is around 60+ trains per day. There are 2 mainline tracks and a local ("K line"). Also, Amtrak's southwest Chief stops daily, eastbound in the morning and westbound in the evening.
@@bw6378 K-Line isn't really "local." It's the Hannibal Subdivision and runs from Burlington all the way to St. Louis. 6-8 trains per day, scheduled dailies and as-needed. Three-way meets are not uncommon on this stretch and are visible on Virtual Railfan's live-feed cameras.

One can stop faster than the other...
Tolls to cross the bridge are suspended at this time. I don't know how much longer that will last though.

Why is the bridge so low and close to the water? Or is the Mississippi not navigable here?
The height of the bridge seems low because it has to match the grade of the railroad track.
