Here's why these swing state voters, who once voted democrat and leaned towards liberal candidates, chose to vote more conservatively in the 2016 presidential election, by voting to elect Republican candidate Donald Trump for President of the United States.
Hear from these Pennsylvania voters, some of the 'swingers,' who once voted for President Barack Obama but voted for Donald Trump, against Hillary Clinton, as the 45th President of the U.S. making Pennsylvania a pivotal swing state in the last U.S. presidential election.
We first spoke with our 'swingers' in March 2017, towards the beginning of the Trump Presidency. We filmed them watching the news and reacting to issues that were important to them. We then followed up again in 2018, 16 months later, to ask them how they are feeling about their decision to vote Trump into office.

Divorcing someone based upon their beliefs shows more about who you are. It means that you can’t live with someone with different views on things. Just because you see the other person’s view as wrong it doesn’t justify you not being with that person. The same goes to people with different religious beliefs and how if you are a Muslim or catholic you can’t be together which is not true.

It’s very sad! I’m not in any political party, and have a huge family who all support different political parties and candidates. They are not all uneducated or poor, some use trumps policies to their advantage, some were raised to view it in a particular way, others are ignorant of the facts/data. It’s ok and important to have differing views, but when it hurts your self, family, neighbors, you should realize and admit it’s not what’s best. Others I fear only care about themselves.

The FACT is that unemployment dropped dramatically under Obama .. it also continued to drop under Trump but only because of the flow on effects from the previous administration.
Many more jobs have now been lost BECAUSE of the tariffs imposed on China .. the opposite to what was supposed to happen. The US has far more jobs in the value added area than they do in manufacturing ... so basically, 10x more jobs have been lost to make way for the return of a minimal amount of jobs in manufacturing. It didn't make sense then and it doesn't make sense now. There was nothing to prevent manufacturers from starting/re-opening manufacturing WITHOUT imposing tariffs. All that's been achieved is raising the cost of living for Americans.
