Also, when I worked in big pharma, we had a grading system. For any invention we’d file in the G8 countries ( now I believe its G20) to secure protection in major industrialized countries. Specific countries thereafter would be added based on where competitors are located and where their manufacturing facilities are located. This was and still is one of my favourite aspects of my practice; part poacher, part gamekeeper
I’d say go for US, Canada and Mexico. This locks up two large borders and prevent illegal cross border importation. Canada, my country, is a very inexpensive jurisdiction in which to secure parent protection. Plus, I have a very collegial relationship with examiners at the CIPO.
Thanks for your information. I'm wanting to patent some of my ideas. My biggest (wildest) idea is starting a patent insurance company. Where a team of investigators chase down infringements. I've been seeing even grandma's homemade dolls being mass produced in China. Anyway I'm glad to find your channel and will be following. Thanks again.
You're certainly not the first one to propose this novel idea. 😊 In the meantime, keep creating it sounds like you have quite a bit of experience in the space. -john
No, they aren't. I have a patent attorney invested in my Bubble-Worm invention. I have a WIPO Patentscope listing. WIPO Patentscope WO2O10126510. Patents do not guarantee Commerce. I'm a United States Navy Guided Missile Destroyer veteran. If we protect the ocean container freight. AMERICA should charge for that service. Note it was Rear Admiral Grace Hopper that invented COBOL programming. Most banks use that.

China ignores patents all the time.
