I'm realy going for the spellcasters first! starting with Str 8, Dex 16, Con 14, Int 10, Wis 10, Cha 16
Yea. Penny auctions _seem_ like a good deal at first glance, because none of them tell you that they all _charge per bid you place, even if you don't win the item._ So yea, the end "sell price" might be lower than retail, but you've also spent a lot of time trying to outbid other people (and even bidding bots) while actually spending money on each bid that you will not get back even if someone else wins the item.
I can't believe this. I just play that part, and i did the exact same thing with the doors. I cast spike growth in front of the door and then close it, it's really effective 🐊.
Would love to see act 2 stuff. I was playing around in tactician mode with the darkness spell and then I was reminded very quickly that darkness is lethal in act 2 for reasons :x would love to see the groups take on it!
Yeah my combo is cast minor illusion in a room get enemies to go investigate. Shut the door and cast arcane lock on it. Course if you don’t have that spell just drop a box in front of the door and the ai just can’t make it through.
Arcane Lock is hilarious, I’ve cheesed a whole fight by locking down 1 of 2 paths towards my party using an Arcane Locked door, and the AI just keep trying to unlock the door until their turn ends lol
wow, that ad took me back to the mid 2000s for commercials for other penny auction websites. I remember trying them and it always seemed so sketchy how no matter what you did, you always lost a bid. I've always been under the impression that a lot of the things for sell on those websites don't really "sell" anything and it just portrays things being sold to grab users into spending money to "allow" them to place a bid?
Sometimes chests in door's way are even more op. Seeing the cambions doing 0 damage to a chest in prologue makes me wonder why there is no armor made from chests. 😅
I used Doors really well in the Creche. Trigger initiative. Shoot them and close the door with my gloomstalker. Rest of the team moves up. Other folks run up to the door. I open the door and fireball the cluster wiping them out.
Wait I just realized, can the rangers spider pet use the web action outside of combat ? Because the Druid spider form can’t. Also this game has made me hate candles. So annoying when I have a web set up and it clips into a candle or something and just burns away
Closing the doors to make the enemy come to you accualy worked surpircingly well! Tryed it my self! will you post all your characters complete builds and if you have respeced and if so from what and when?
@@PackTacticsdid sleet storm get buffed ? I don’t think it stops actions in table top. and the fact that after concentration ends it leaves a water surface, that can be refrozen with a Cantrip or elemental arrow, seams really good.
@@PackTactics Last I checked yes. Spike growth is a ground effect, hunger of hadar is a smoke/smog layer effect and sleet storm is a weather/top layer effect. It's the perfect cake!
Door cheese is a problem mostly because there's no "ready action" to shoot you when you open the door. Same goes with popping in and out of view. That will probably always be a thing in this game, but I hope that either the developers or modders will eventually fix it by adjusting the AI. EX: Instead of running toward the door, run away and call all of their allies in the camp to help fight the intruders. That way the player would either have to fight hugely outnumbered, or actively hunt down fleeing enemies instead of picking them off 1-by-1 from safety.
I’ve tried putting crates to block off doors but the NPCs walked around/through them. I feel that it should work so I’ll try again. I’d just love to be able to walk off or bottleneck critters.
I love seeing the crazy ways that people approach these fights because of the huge variety of tactics the game allows. My friend and I managed to split most of the creche up into groups of just 2-3 enemies. The big room was handled by an Evard's Black Tentacles, a Fireball, a LOT of failed saving throws. We just hid around the corner and focus-fired anyone who got loose and Dashed through. I don't think we had to heal or long rest even once through the entire creche. I might have to try using doors more now, though! I didn't think about keeping an invisible minion out of combat for opening/closing doors off-turn.
My one issue with these videos is i have trouble keeping track of who's who. I don't have the best hearing and relating names to voices to characters is hard. Having the names show up more visibly than the little top widget when they're talking would be a godsend but i also understand that its probably a ton of work that might not be worth it.
Listen kobold, I know it’s not optimal to be in melee combat but can you build an optimal melee character? If there is such a thing… (on dnd not bg3 btw)
@@agilemind6241 thanks man but why not go totem warriors? And like barbarian cancel the use of spells and I think haste and shield would help a lot in melee
The solution I made for chokepoint holding in my game was that enemies would just set up a chokepoint on the other side. If they can, they will send smth like waves of undead to further drain the resources of the party I wonder if it's possible to make AI able to recognise a fortified position and switch into making one of their own(prob tens of hours of dev time just for the basic realisation tho)
AI on both enemy and friendly are very easy to exploit unfortunately, I’m enjoying the game nonetheless by avoiding cheese and purposely NOT playing busted builds and strats (essentially I’m trying to play RAI)
"A creature takes 4d4 slashing damage when it enters the spell's area for the first time on a turn or starts its turn there." cloud of daggers always did damage in cast, because of the text "on A turn" not "on IT'S turn" a creature does in fact 'enter' the area on the turn you cast it, therefore it does indeed take damage on cast. (pretty sure there's a sage advice about this, too)
The only relevant Sage Advice is in regards to Moonbeam, which has the same wording. The Sage Advice says it does not work that way and doesn't do damage on cast.
The AI is so so bad, most surfaces they will refuse to move on at all and just stand there getting shot. The surfaces in the first place can be very annoying; blood ruining web, a bottle of water and it's water surface will override a darkness spell...
I feel like this is less 'intentional' and more just a limitation of the game engine in general. I feel like it was probably too difficult to program the game having multiple overlapping surface effects, and thus chose to limit it to one to reduce issues and and general 'buggy-ness'
I'm sorry but I don't watch BG3 content. If it's big on your channel then that's cool. But just wanted to let you know that there is no interest over here.

Doors are the most powerful thing in BG, but bringing the DM pizza will always be the most powerful thing in DND.
Admittedly I don't think I'd actually enjoy playing this way myself, but it's rather entertaining to watch.
I happy you are getting sponsors, but "peny auctions" are very bad and often predatory

The AI just doesn't understand doors sometimes and it's weird.
They learnt the same lesson critical role learnt… that doors are a menace to society
doors used to be players #1 enemy, now theyre a great ally
Arcane Lock is hilarious, I’ve cheesed a whole fight by locking down 1 of 2 paths towards my party using an Arcane Locked door, and the AI just keep trying to unlock the door until their turn ends lol

counterspell ray of frost. optimal
today you are sponsored by what is arguably a scam bidding website. noice.

I thought the world would end before Kobold would get sponsored by DealDash
i live for this
My favorite combo in baldurs gate goes as follows:
Spike growth, sleet storm, hunger of hadar, door
Does spike growth stack with Hunger of Hadar? We do use Sleet storm + Hadar later on.

It's funny seeing everyone rocking hand-crossbows. Larion should balance it with the loading property.
Anyone know what’s adding radiant damage to the ranger’s hand crossbow shots?
in the monastery there's a puzzle that gives you a condition until long rest that adds 1d4 radiant damage to your weapons
