I don't like adjusting valves at TDC. I prefer having one valve at the end of it travel and adjusting the other. It's easier and I know I have a good clearance
I hate those Stihl 4 mix blowers i can't get more then 2 years out of them nothing like there old Magnum br400 and 430 those were wonderful blowers they lasted for ever.
The part that really irritates me about these are the Stihl special valve clearance feeler Guage that is both expensive and takes forever to arrive if the local dealer doesn't have any available.
i bought a 10 year old stihl br600 that didnt run, for 80 bucks. got it home and pulled the valve cover, it had dropped a rod due to lack of maintanence. pulled the whole machine apart, reset the lifters and valves and cleaned the carb. that thing has made me hundreds if not thousands of dollers now in clean ups...
6:10 its a 4 cycle in every way, just runs on mix ( doesnt have an oil system)
Great video thanks to share with us. So I have a question what kind a screw driver did you use to adjust the carburator?
It is a special type of driver. If you search for carb adjustment driver set you can get a packet of about 8.
@@PNWSmallEngineandLawn thanks Mike.
What about the needle pin you didn't take it out or use carb cleaner
I never used carb cleaner on these carbs unless they are completely disabled. There are small rubber O rings that can be damaged with carb cleaner
I have a Br 600 my primer bulb won't fill and I tried everything,, can someone help me with any suggestions?
You can just cut the feeler gage to the right size
thats what i did
Your in the wrong compression stroke to adjust the valves TDC is what you want

You should always replace the valve gasket if has never been done
It was in good condition
What size hex were the needles?
I don't really know. I use a driver set made for adjusting carbs
4mm
