  • This video is not a tutorial and the carbs are not assembled in this one. It is long and unedited chat of me discussing various choices I made and the parts purchased as part of restoring and rebuilding the carburetors off my Ducati 900SS bevel. They're the last part of the bike that I haven't restored and so I'm doing that now.
This series of videos is on a playlist on my channel.
This is one of many Ducati 900SS Bevel Restoration videos on my channel.

Concerning the O-rings it is a good idea to visit the Simrit-Freudenberg-homepage. I have found out, that many standard-O-rings were not properly designed even by the manufacturers! I still refer to my over 800-pages-hardcover 1991 books by Simrit-Freudenberg which deliver all the information you need to design or check an O-ring-gasket.

Thanks for the tip. I've gone there and found this document:
      www.fst.com/-/media/files/fst,-d-,com/technical-manuals/en/fst_technical_manual_2015_sec04_o-rings_and_static_seals.pdf
Page 563 onward has the information that applies to the issues I found here. It shows the fit and space needed and also the gap bridging abilities. Judging from that I believe I made the right choices here in the video. I learned that the ring should be snug on the inside and have sufficient room to deform on the outside. That small o-ring is definitely the one for that pump-stop adjuster. The previous rebuilder had that ring and also the one on the starter jet wrong. Good stuff :)

To remount the accelartionpump-diaphram-screw in a proper depth I think it is a fine idea to measure the depth over the flange from inside the housing.

Yes, that would have been the quicker and easier method! I'm used to marking and counting threads from work I do on old cameras and lenses so I didn't even think past that.

So from both Gowanloch and Bevel Heaven you've sourced parts?

Yes, I wanted to get it all from one place, but that's not entirely possible as not everyone has everything. You can also get some Dellorto parts, e.g. jets, from many places as they are used in many modern bikes e.g. I've just now ordered the two #68 pilot jets from a local scooter shop. Also, BH still had 8.5g floats where Gowanloch only lists the heavier replacement version. BH also had the pump jet holder that Gowanloch didn't have. Depending on where you live, Mdina and Stein Dinse and several others also stock all the bits. There's also that UK Dellorto site that is on that parts diagram in my video... They seem to have everything and they have pictures for all, which is very useful. Let me know how you get on with yours.
