@@COD_is_a_sin iv used a headset , no difference the audio is still directionless , you still hear footsteps and spin around and realise you are hearing your footsteps and you only hear the enemy when they start to kill you , and the game caster is on the same channel as abilities so you get "they are taking hope you like spider bots" , so you often dont know that a zone has been taken behind you and the spawn has flipped as some stoopid mofo has decided to rush the map and take the spawn on the other side , oh and my headset isnt a cheap one either and works fine in all other games.

I've noticed the same thing with the audio after the latest patch. It sounda like enemies are coming from behind or the side and no one's there, or they come out of a direction I wasnt expecting. Spatial audio needs work but it's not a game breaking thing so im just gonna keep rolling with It. Still a hell a lot more enjoyable than getting rolled by SBMM in COD.
I put in an issue report with Ubisoft. Recently it seems that the enemy footstep audio is slightly delayed. It feel like you don’t hear it until it’s too late. I actually tested it with the Echelon cloaking suit. I was invisible, crouched in the corner and an enemy ran by and it sounded like the footstep audio was trailing behind trying to catch up. 🤷🏻♂️
Im a XD fanboy tbh and thats why i care to hear about the real problems coz i want the game to actually get better yk (like this problem ure pointing out), its only when its ppl yapping and ranting about their skill issues and blaming it on something in the game is where it can kinda bother me. Ure right and i do have felt it, its not a 100% of the time kind of thing, but it does happen every now and then for sure and its very noticeable when it happens, it sounds like theres someone coming from behind but theyre really coming from a side; theres some spots where its more noticeable, at least on my experience, like the place where ive noticed it the most is that one part with ladders in one side and a ramp on the other in the map Liberty where it gets super confusing coz u cant really tell if theyre climbing up on you, going up the ramp, if they’re already up, below u, coming from the side or flanking on the part closer to the edge of the map. I respect u actually being objective with the problem and it not be subjective yapping, earned the like :))
yeah the audio of this game can be pretty weird sometimes but its not that frequent from my perspective, and hopefully they will do some tuning about it
When i'm using PS5 i'm using a full surround sound set-up and the audio seems odd because as a 5.1 sound sometimes im getting 2.1, you hear footsteps front right and the person who kills you was rear right. On PC i have 7.1 simulated surround sound and it appears to not be as bad(i guess with headphones you need more spatial awareness), i tend to look around a lot more than i do on PS5. Yes i'm also on point with sound in all the other games i play. Bunny hoppers....Well now i see bunny sliders or bunny croucher's whatever takes your fancy, which create less sound than running and your still moving forward, this itself is not a good thing. Bunny hopping is still being spammed and the snipers are still well out of sync with OP, flinch does not appear to be working properly as its not stopping them at all(unless i'm that bad a shot that none of my bullets are actually hitting), now we know its a FREE to play game and its still in its infancy stages but lets get real...The game should not have been released until most of the bugs we are experiencing have been fixed, they just needed to open a test server for 2 months for invited testers to play the game in full, instead of opening the game up like they have now.
i have a weird problem in this game,after aiming down the sight, i cant move the cursor anymore to adjust the aim while shooting.after right click i cant control the aim anymore, it stuck in that position where i right clicked.is like my mouse is disabled after right click or slowed down.is like someone is holding my barrel and dont let me move my aim.i never had this problem in other games.sorry for my bad english
Xdefiant is bad lol the core of the game doesn't even work for half of us. Having sponge bullets makes the game unplayable, you're basically just there for the people with good connection to shoot and kill with three bullets, and have them think they're good at the game lmao

poor sound , net code , graphic pop in , challenges not tracking , cheaters , how did this game get its gold rating ? , the net code is still broken after a year of testing and the updates dont seem to actually do anything , iv put the controller down and gone into the kitchen to get a drink and then i get shot.
Footstep audio should be nonexistant in fps games, fps is about gun skill when you add footsteps it elimintates that aspect of the game. just look at mw2019 and mw2022 nobody was moving cause they had their buttcheeks plastered to a corner pre aiming waiting for someone to run into the room they’re camping in cause they knew exactly where you are before you even entered that room

It still gets hundreds of thousands concurrent players and they will be pumping it with content so i doubt that the game will die or something like that, yeah the player numbers are going down but that happens to every game and eventually it settles at an average number, but i still doubt thag average number will go below 200-300k in the next few months and maybe even year or years. Theoretically the game should only get better from now on so i wouldnt be too worried abt it dying for a decent enough time

*The last Patch Update did negatively effect the Audio in XDefiant* , especially the In-game Voice Chat is not working and all the settings for audio are On and not off.
I thought I was losing my shit yesterday with the audio and audio coming from the opposite direction, I even double checked my headset was on straight! Glad its not just me!
I brought up and used the Ubisoft bug report system to highlight the fact that footstep speed sound is exactly the same for sprinting as it is ADS. They used the save Wav file for both actions, it Sounds like someone is running up on you while you're ADS. I got a reply back saying it was a non issue and to raise it in the community discord.
I've also noticed the footsteps are wierd recently. Definitely needs to be addressed at some point
I play on my TV without headphones. I do not hear shit! Other players gotta love it, walk right up easiest kill they have! LOL!
