To be honest my "whoah" moment was when I realised they were even doing this song live. It's the type of song that can be engineered nicely in a studio. But doing this live is like a musical high-wire act. I think they did a great job.

She's singing in staccato, which is actually impressive, especially when you're singing in the same manner a cat walks - softly.
Most vocalists would blush if someone asked them to sing a scale in staccato. What she does and what THEY do is incredible. Do we hear any off notes from her, the violin, the sax, or the trombone? Do we notice Camille in the back swapping his sax for the clarinet? Do we notice that all 7 musicians are perfectly in time?
Making a song sound as beautiful as the studio version in a live performance is magic.

Aside from that chorus, that really benefits from a little electric treatment, this was an amazing performance.
Probably the best electroswing live I've seen. It's a hard genre to pull off live, considering the reliance on post-processing in the genre.

@@Bromaster That would be a sound engineering problem. TV studios are a B*** to prepare for music performances. You have to set up a live music context, with music studio quality, in a weird space with fake walls cutting and redirecting sound all over the place.

Lone Digger is of course, the absolute dope, but Caravan Palace has me used to this level of excelency, the other three are very fine (not super fond of Midnight though) but if truth be told, they are not top notch Caravan Palace awesomery. But then again, the first two album had me used to every single track but one or two being truely exceptionnel

I love Caravan Palace, but that live singing voice is ah... well... it's not very good is it? It's too careful, there's no strength in it.
Their music is excellent on record, but there's no real boom to the sound live I think, nothing raw about.
+Vidar It's probably cause in the studio version the voice is loaded with chorus, reverb, and other effects
Maknirak I think also maybe she isn't dancing when recording in a studio so she is using her breath of air better :P
+Vidar Not only that, but when using a dynamic microphone live, depending on how a sound engineers has set up the mix, a singer will need to sing quite strongly. The reason her voice gets lost is because she's obviously used to singing softly in this song (a bit more intimate at the beginning in the studio version) and then relying on almost a single breath to get through her quite fast lyrics.
