Thank you! We enjoyed seeing Lagos and Nairobi!
Wet kitchen is for actual cooking, while a dry kitchen is your prep or staging area kitchen.

Loved your videos from since you came to Kenya and linked up with Afrikan Traveller, and in general your channel is awesome! Thank you so much, bro! (From Kenya)
I just subscribed because of your wife. Her love for Kenya is on another level. Most videos where she reviews Kenya you see her glow. She just gives positive vibes. She should be given the Kenyan ID and move as soon as possible 😁. Kenyans love people who love Kenya.❤️🌹.
It's always nice to see y'all love on her. We both thank you for joining the family!

NAIROBI!!!!! Love Nigeria but Nairobi weather vibe and hospitality I’d unmatched. I might be a lil biased tho coz I’m East African.
The nairobi home looks very grown up, demeure and traditional. The lagos home looks very modern, young and very stylish and has personality. Wish the lagos home was built on the nairobi surroundings :D
Nice reaction. I wouldn't love to spam some real estate videos but trust me Kenya has some of the best properties in Africa. Keep doing this reaction on African Homes and you will be impressed.
Thanks for showing Africa 🌍 some love ❤️

Nairobaeeee 🇰🇪 . Nairobi really values greenery and has put in a lot of effort into preserving green spaces around the city. The love for greenery extends to residential housing of course

I'd definitely go for the Nairobi home. In Kenya we are very much into green spaces. We value the environment.and we love trees a lot.

Lagos can't afford the luxury of space... That's what Nairobi got over Lagos.
Wow nairobi to the world thankful for our nigeria people
Nairobi's weather is amazing, with a national park within the city, conducive business environment, and the hospitality of the local people is amazing. The Nairobi house for me hands down.🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾
I agree, the weather is amazing, it was never to hot and the nights got cool like early autumn nights in the Midwest. Then Malindi is amazing too. It wasn’t too humid and the beaches had the softest white sands. Nairobi house is my choice too.
@@truth884
It depend the time both video was taken to determine the weather. Kenya weather maybe favourable as when the video was taken compare to that of Nigeria. Houses at that price also varies in design.
@@Southernview3k In my experience and where I was at in Nairobi it is less humid and cooler, now Malindi was definitely more hotter and more humid than Nairobi. I have heard that there are states in Nigeria that have climates similar to that area of Kenya. From what my wife tells me Lagos is hot and humid like the Dominican Republic.
@@truth884
I was told there's a state in Nigeria that have cold weather throughout the whole year. The climate of Lagos state is hot.
Nice to watch you 2. Your love for my motherland Kenya 🇰🇪 is beautiful to see Asante ❤
In Karen Nairobi, they have a by law that stipulates you only build in 35per cent of your land area so you see most of the greens. Clean air and natural light. What I saw with lagos building was just to fill the land with the building.
A community that cares!😍👏🏾
They got huge population in lagos.
Another Karen by law is you can't build more than 2 storeys so basically, no apartments there
I loved the Nigerian one too, you can get creative with greenery. It's a beautiful space too.
The Lagos property looks more like trying to compete with the neighbors than trying to live your best life its just obscene.
Luxury is all about class and style not just bling.
Too close to neighbors for us.
This is because its in the heart of the city, where land use is limited, where as the other one is in the outside of the city, you can toy around with the land lands there. Another thing is, the cost of the the land where Lagos property is is so high that it can take ⅓ of the property price.
Karen in nairobi is just as expensive if not more... Nairobi land prices is for dollar multimillionaire and billionaires no lies
@@sidex4also all estates are farther away from the cbd Karen is as close as you can get
Our own Steve Ndukwu reporting.
So proud of him👍👍👏🇳🇬
In Nairobi majority of houses are normally build with an outer house one or two sometimes. One for guests and smaller one for house helps
Nairobi property is heavenly places to be
Yeeeesss!
You've really understood the concept of Kenyan homes.
A Kenyan home is built to last the lifetime of a family (and more)
And you cannot have a home like that without preparing for your guests in advance -- for you will surely have them!
So, that 'outhouse'\'clubhouse' is meant to be used exactly as you've pointed out -- you can entertain, you and your family can use it for privacy etc., and host events all from that space which includes the yard (or garden as most people would call it in Kenya) and the pool area.
I loved watching @Steve Ndukwu's orginal series too! I recommend his channel for sure
Nairobi def has top tier real estate but also the vibes are amazing!!!!! Not just coz I am Kenyan but because we are truly friendly and laid back.
My City My Town ~ Nairobi 🇰🇪
Space in Lagos is a luxury. The hustle and bustle in Lagos is real. The first thing that comes to mind when getting a property is accessibility, especially if you have an 8-5 job. To resume work at 8am you're probably leaving your house by 5 or 5:30 am to beat traffic. It's also the economic hub of Nigeria. On real estate appreciation, Lagos is 🔥 The house in Nairobi is exquisite and the greenery, fabulous. You'll have to go to another state in Nigeria to plant such grasses NOT in Lagos. Quite an interesting video.
Wet kitchen is where you do stuff like meats, fish, other foods that have a smell or need a lot of cleaning. It's in the wet kitchen where the heavy cooking is done. It's usually away from the living area. The dry kitchen is next to the living space, as cooking in it won't distract those in the sitting area. In the dry kitchen, you cook other simple meals that don't leave the place messy.
Is this the standard in every home there?
@@TheDemouchetsREACT Only for the wealthy. Middle to low income houses just have 1-kitchen as standard
In the villages, the kitchen would be separate from the living area because of the wooden stoves' smoke. That's where all heavy duty cooking like boiling legumes( which can be smelly) is done. Now for the modern homes, a wet kitchen serves that purpose for those who can afford it
I am an African myself, Southern here and just learning about a dry and wet kitchen. Amazing how big our continent is.
Wet kitchen...my first time hearing the term..but I guess it's is equivalent to what's commonly known as a Dirty kitchen aka caterer's kitchen aka scullery kitchen.
This would be where all the heavy duty meal prep and cooking takes place...keeps all smoke and smells out of the main living area.
Lagos house all the way...I really like the architectural design and is well manage even thou the land is smaller than..I prefer Lagos house
Nairobi is massive in terms of housing and real estates we got a lot to offer
Nairobi house for sure, i love the serene look and the different houses in one, one thing with Kenyans is they love living together, ive visited some friends where there grandma stays in right house, the older brother in left etc. In my culture your father's mom cannot sleep in the house and for the boys once they turn a certain age they have to sleep in a different house hence the cycle goes on.
Lagos is a very small state with limited land, I'm not sure one can get as much land within the city as where Nairobi property is located. The house would have been better in a bigger space. Nevertheless, it is beautiful.
You dropped this 🧢
Lagos: 999 SQ km
Nairobi: 696 SQ km
Do you know the price of land in Lagos??
Nairobi Vs Abuja.
Lagos is a commercial city with no extra land for luxury. You get that in Abuja.
Fact
Nairobi is an even bigger commercial hub...but better planned and with the advantage of a smaller population of 5.6 million
14:40 😁I actually thought Dry and Wet Kitchen was a Kenyan only thing. So good to learn about that. I wonder how many Afrikan countries do this outside of Kenya and Nigeria.
Nairobi kenya 🇰🇪 is the place cut one tree 🌲 plant two that’s a tradition
I prefer the land and space of the nairobi home but i prefer the style and structure of the lagos home
Nairobi, Kenya hands down for sure.
In Lagos that nairobi house is a upper middle class house not a luxury house
@@jidebolarinwa697 and yet It's still better than the Lagos "luxury" house in this video according to most people.
@@thorfinn7291 watch the video again, see how they kept saying "lagos house is nice" over and over again and even at 15:49 the guy disagreed with steve. it's clear that they preferred the lagos house but wanted to agree with the video. Anyone who think that nairobi house is better has eye problem.
@@jidebolarinwa697 hahah whatever makes you feel better.
@@thorfinn7291 Its not about whatever makes me happy, it's the reality, that Lagos house is too good. If the kenya house was better i would have said so.
Happy Day to the both of you!!! I've noticed twice in the African home vs African home content (which I love by the way), they mention the staff house (the small house beside main house) also known as boys quarter in Nigeria (I'm Nigerian by the way). The staff house/boys quarter is for staffs of the home such as gate man/security guy, (who opens the gate to the home when owners come home/watches over home), house cleaners/cooks (cook and clean home).
The homes in Africa normally have several rooms 4+ with each room having its own bathroom. Lol, that's how we build.
I just realized this concept wasn't fully explained.
Lastly, please please please visit Africa soon it's an eye opening experience. Yes, I was born in Lagos, Nigeria but I grew up in the States (DMV area) and I've visited Nigeria a lot in my 20s into my early 30s.
Come visit us, Africans are very welcoming. I think the main process for visiting when you're not from there is choose a spot and do your research before you go there. Oh and please be open, no expectations. Again it's eye opening with all the things you will learn. It's such an amazing continent full of great countries and beautiful people.
The 'outhouse' as you call it is what we call staff quarters. Most everyone has live in help: a nanny, a gardener and sometimes a cook
😍😍 Love this!! Nairobi seems like the place to be!
We Kenyans call it Servant's Quarter. Nearly all houses in Nairobi, even middle-class homes in Estates, have servant quarters.
to be honest if you live in Karen Nrb you do not need the CBD at all they have they own markets, malls etc you are next to safaris, best schools the only downside is it can get very cold in june july but also not winter cold so yall should be fine
South Africa, Namibia, Zimbabwe, Botswana or Zambia
Lagos has a population of about 25 million, making it one of the most populated cities in the world. It is located near the equator... So, space is luxury in Lagos and the weather is humid-temperate due to the location.
I haven't been to Nairobi begofe, but I'll go for Nairobi property because of the greenery, weather, and lesser population
Location near the Equator doesn't determine space. Kenya is smack, right on the Equator and there's plenty of space to build on, as long as you afford the asking price for land.
@@itsvipi I think he meant that in respect to the weather.
Kenya Nairobi is the best
With that money, you buy a house, start a business , buy 2 cars and even a land. It's a lot here in Africa as long as you have the right connections to guide you and not Rob you.
Simply convert US to local currency, that is 10 times the amount or at least 9 times
By the time you're buying a $1M home, the things you've listed are the least of your worries.
You are definitely right here in nigeria thats exactly 738,000,000
If i go to banana island here in lagos i can definitely purchase a house of 100,000,000 naira then open a business with another 100,000,000 naira which leaves me with a sum of 538,000,000 naira then food and other things 300,000,000 naira
I still will have 238,000,000 naira for shares in big companies

Nairobi and Mombasa are my fav cities in Kenya. I love Mombasa ❤
For $1M you can buy a couple of acre of beach front property and a design of your own in Kenya and still have change to get an 4×4 Landcruiser!
Not true.... Kenyan prime property is just like most western nations...
Welcome to Nairobi, Kenya (Zion) and big up to Nigeria(ns).

Dry kitchen is for your regular fast cooking while a wet kitchen is for heavier cooking that involves longer cooking like boiling beans or meat
Nairobi is the place to be
African food is serious so you need one kitchen for the stuff with serious aromas. And a normal kitchen
Nairobi all the way
Space in Nairobi can’t be compare to Lagos . Nairobi still have lot of space to play with. The other hand lagos is almost done with it land . Lagos with almost 25m in population to compare to Nairobi of 6m in population
We'd definitely choose Nairobi for that reason alone.
Move to Uganda 🇺🇬 am American 🇺🇸 and I fell in love with it.
What do love about it?
architecture in Lagos need revision in design
Kenya Got Really Amazing Homes and more estates getting built
Logos is hot🔥 and humid, Nairobi is cool. But both are great places to live in
Never heard of a dry and wet kitchen. There's the concept of wood and stone kitchen outside the house
They are missing some very important thing about Nigeria.... It's that Nigeria runs on generators because of the poor power infruatructure. It's generators everywhere man!! so the noise levels in Nigeria are definitely crazy. As an outsider, it will get to you. Nairobi is also very very cosmopolitan and much safer than Lagos. There are better hospitals and schools in Nairobi and 90% of Nairobi is tarmaced... Thsee variables are also very important while making decisions on where to move while considering where to spend $ 1m.
Child pls. Don’t lie to this people. 90% of Nairobi is not tarmac. Apart from maybe the cbd area, upper hill,Westland and probably killimani, the rest part of Nairobi litttered with terrible roads, slumscrapers, actual slum like that of kibera and the likes. You infrastructural deficit is high and here you are painting a false eldorado because a certain handpicked homes of yours was more greener than the ones in Lagos. Pls go slow on the lies and stick to the topic which was about homes. Stop embarrassing yourself
That's not true. There's adequate distribution of power for a country with 215M people. Lagos state with 22M people equals the whole Kenyan population.
People subsidies the electric grid with solar energy. You really think affluent Nigerians deal with generator?
Funny, noise in Nigeria? How many states in Nigeria have you been to? Even in Lagos how many cities have you been to? Your statement is biased.
How can you paint a whole nation with one brush?
U actually think the guy doesn’t knw of the power outage in Nigeria?, he clearly didn’t mention it because their is definitely no electricity issue in that estate, not everywhere in Nigeria is hving light issues, some places have 24/7 electricity. Check ur fact checked but u comment crap just to downplay Nigeria. The electricity in Nigeria now can carry twice the size of ur entire country.
@@afrikanheritage99 he clearly haven’t been to Nigeria to make such a baseless comment abt noise in Nigeria. People tend to exaggerate anything negative. Cos Nigerians complain of power outage, they think everywhere in Nigeria is having the same issue knowing fully well the population of Nigeria and its size.
Nairobi all the way, and not just Karen has great homes. Plenty of other places in Nairobi have great high end homes plus the weather is milder. Greenery is a big deal in Nairobi and Kenya generally apart from the semi-arid areas in Northern Kenya.
Greenery adds to the overall look. Love this!
Karen is next to the Nairobi national park, you could go for game drives & see lot's of wildlife e.g lion's, buffalo etc.

Dry kitchen is the one that you use when fixing some snacks or any other meals that don't leave so much dirt around, wet kitchen is where you cook all other meals that requires things like pealing potatoes or things like washing dishes, scrubbing cooking pots and all that meals that leaves your working place looking like a dumping site 😂😂,dry kitchen should be one next to dinning area especially if you are going for a open kitchen.
But in Lagos for business and Nairobi for living ❤

Nice videos.
Nigérians loooove flashy things. Exactly like that house. I prefer the Nairobi ‘s house…so cozy.
Every house has kitchen outside in Africa, or with a door who can take you outside because food can be too smelly sometimes and bother people int the house. Nice smells of course. But when you have people around. You don’t want them to be bothered.
When you have money. You have 2 kitchens. One inside ( more like a gallery kitchen) with frizer, fridges and pantry, no tap usually ( dry kitchen), just for the look and some minors functionality, but the real work is still in the kitchen outside or the second kitchen with a tap and everything to cook.
We don’t cook real meal in front of people.
American kitchen as we call it. Kitchen in the main room…is cool for look but..not for real cuisine. We African are serious with foods😂😂😂😂
Yes, I've noticed that too. Nigerians love Ioud and flashy things. And paying a million for no privacy from the neighbours? No way. I want barbecues in the backyard and space for my dogs run.
Welllll it looks like we should take our money to Nairobi! This is our type of lifestyle!
