I am 75 and was raised in San Diego, but our esthetic in literature and music are identical. No wonder I identify with your vibe. I met Jesus in 1971, but cut my teeth in the 60's on Bob Dylan, the Beatles, Joni Mitchel, Crosby,Stills, and Nash and then Neil Young. But Bob Dylan remains my top favorite. In the 1990's Radio Head, Pearl Jam, U2, Modest Mouse, Pavement, The Pixies, Beck, etc. As for literature I got into George McDonald, then feasted on fairy tales as a chil, then discovered JRTolkein as a teen, and CS Lewis, all of his novels and Chronicles of Narnia, his space trilogy, and others. Catch 22, One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest, Black Like Me, so many great books. I too hated pop music and romantic novels, unless they are Jane Austin, or Charles Dickens. From such different worlds yet so much commonality. I never voted Republican, loved Jimmy Carter, resisted my Republican friends who shared my faith who insisted I support Trump or leave...so I left. I flew solo for almost 8 years, dug into the word, and fell deeper into love with Jesus than even before. Your podcast so resonates. Please keep speaking out.
