As an abused child, mostly alone and afraid, Lonnies music totally encouraged me. I'll never forget that about him.

Genius. His music took me through college. I was blessed to meet him briefly after his show at Blues Alley in DC and tell him so. He was so gracious. I was thrilled to see him receive a well deserved honorary doctorate from his alma mater Morgan State University in 2021.

The best that ever did it. The music touches more then most composers and is created from a different dimension

"Expand Your Mind" is my favorite for a long drive on an open winding road. Lonnie was my neighbor in Bayside Queens N.Y. back in the 80's. Great Guy and Extraordinary talent!! I am so happy to see this interview. He looks fantastic and still has his gift that he is always happy to share with all of us!

I'm familiar with the "Fender Rhodes" company's segmented docu- series Lonnie is referring to. And i agree with Lonnie's sentiment, it was criminal that Lonnie wasn't included in the series.

I was a huge LLS fan in the mid 70's starting with Expansions and still am. He's doing wonderfully at 80! Keep going Lonnie! I also grew up in Utica and its great to see that Hamilton College has this wonderful jazz archive program.
