I am just awestruck with every video I watch. The thoughtful consideration of aesthetic, functionality and safety of the Chickens that is put into the designs is perfection!
That's an awesome and huge chicken coop. Another point that was overlooked in the video is that Joe the owner, who is not a small guy, was able to stand inside the hen house and move around quickly to get his girls outside. That shows the incredible durability, strength, and craftsmanship of your product! I doubt he could do that with any other coops out there. Beautiful Coop. Awesome Job.
Thank you Jay! And that is an excellent point. I think we sometimes take for granted how well built our coops are, so we appreciate you noticing it as well.
When I 1st started watch UA-cam videos I hated the ads but then a quality creator that I really like said that it was important for him to be able to make videos so now I watch the ads and do not skip especially on creators that I like I even signed in and created a profile because that helps support the creators that I like. I think that you should monetize your channel because UA-cam makes money off of you weather you monetize your channel or not you should get a cut as a small business owner it is important to have multiple revenue streams people use your information that you share to make there own coops which is not a bad thing but knowledge is power and getting a little kick back from UA-cam is not a bad thing or selling out as long as you keep the quality of your work and videos up I would use that money for employee appreciation
if we are in the area where we did a custom coop, we will do an update. We are super busy, so going out somewhere just to do an updates isn't usually possible. But we totally want to if we can.
I wish I knew about Carolina Coops 2 years ago when I bought my Amish built coop. We plan on moving in another year or two and once we do, I will call Carolina Coop for a new chicken house.
I love doing deep litter! My only issue is I have ducks now that insist on living with my chickens, so I can't do it anymore. No neat that you have a system built in!!
realy like the coop,But i have had,ben around chickens all my life So im no noob..lol. an i agree the concreet floor was,is a bad idea..the need to scratch, pek and eat bugs n stuf thts just what thy do,but i like the coop just not the full slab..a 12-24' footer would b ideal & Probably work best imo! but as long as theyre going to b free roam then its probably not going to be to big of a deal !! Again Very Cool Coop & Great Work !!
Thank you for the videos and coops of inspirations. How do you mean. ‘You should never have to clean your run or your doing something wrong?” How does one never clean a chicken run? Thank you so much
Thank you for the compliment. What we mean is that with our coops, with the covered runs, there really is no reason to ever have to clean out your run. If you add organic substrate, such as leaves and grass clippings, and the chickens are scratching, the inside of the run just breaks down into dry soil full of beneficial microbes. This is also provided you haven't overloaded your coop with chickens. We believe strongly that our customers have no reason to ever have to clean their chicken runs.
That was really cool. I love chickens. Have had some in the past. I LOVE you said you don't put commercials. Good for you. I HATE those too. I have been on youtube for years and never will put ads either. All these things that people think are necessary on youtube are not. Great coop. Love the long covered run. I'm in Florida too.
Actually our roofing helps keep the heat out, no matter the color. And it's such a classic color combo, very popular among our customers. Thanks for your question.
Yes, we ship worldwide. You can email us at sales@carolinacoops.com and let us know which coop you want and your address, and we will email an estimate of everything. Thank you.
Is the floor of the inside strong enough for someone to stand on (in case of a death inside & u need to get body)? Or should a cross beam be placed under the floor? I'm thinking under would b nice place if I added a couple laying ducks.
I absolutely love your coops. They are the most beautiful and humane ones I have seen. As a Floridian I did have a couple questions on safety I hope you can answer. 1. I have read and heard the deep litter method gets too hot for warm climates. Have you heard of any concerns from owners in florida regarding this with your coops meaning it might be more beneficial to clean them out more often or is the ventilation the coop provides enough for the heat and humidity we have. 2. I'm glad you mentioned the hurricane brackets as that was another concern of mine, but what category of hurricane do you believe your coops can handle without blowing away if strapped down and would the chickens be safe to withstand the storm inside? And does this also apply with tornadoes?
for the floor of the henhouse, we use HDPE, however, when we started we just had a wood floor (premium plywood) and we recommend just oiling it with a linseed oil to keep out moisture.
Robert Laird our coops are perfect for any environment. We have a coop just like this one on Vashon island. Chickens in general do much better in colder temperatures.
@@CarolinaCoopsVideos I saw another video of yours where you used clear plastic instead of wire for winter and wind. I thought that's what you would use in the cold and rainy environment's. What is your response to this?
Robert Laird we sell polycarbonate panels to our customers that feel that their chickens could benefit from the added protection. Mainly snow. However polycarbonate is very expensive so we have suggested that you can wrap your coop in plastic to save money. It just may not look as good as the crystal clear polycarbonate panels.
@@CarolinaCoopsVideos Thanks but my question was directed toward if the chickens really needed the protection of having a wind and cold air block by installing a polycarbonate panel or some sort of plastic panel in my location during the rainy and winter season's. Sorry if I wasn't clear on my question.
Matt!!! Love your work ethic, attention to detail and passion for what you do! i will definitely be buying a coop from your company in the near future (gotta save a little $$$ first!). I also appreciate the fact you don't have annoying commercials on your videos! i'm subscribed and hitting the thumbs up on every video! thanks for what you do! Keep the videos coming!!! Do you have any detailed videos about the automatic door opener? im planning on getting the California coop and im interested in the auto opener package!
Thank you for the compliments. This video has some more on how the door works. ua-cam.com/video/YVhIppdE5kk/v-deo.html When you do order your coop, please make sure you let us know you want the automatic run door so we can frame it out for you. Thanks for watching and the thumbs up!
Beautiful coop for beautiful chickens! My concern for you gentlemen, is that your chickens are near a lake. Many lakes in Florida have alligators. What are you two going to do to protect the chickens when they free range?
There is a chain link fence that is four foot tall and is buried 1’ in the ground all the way around they entire property to keep alligators off his property.
@@CarolinaCoopsVideos FYI there are videos of gators climbing over such chain link fences. He may have to top it with an angled section of barbed wire like a prison yard to keep them out. Either that or make it very high. Unsightly in either case.
@@michelleoconnell4895 Please email sales@carolinacoops.com with your information and which coop you want and specifics on where. They will shoot you back an estimate during the week. The coop matters because the weight changes the shipping costs. Thanks!

You are always talking about ventilation and chickens being hot. Why on earth would you use a black roof that attracts/absorbs solar energy ? In Florida and the rest of the southern Gulf Coast especially, the difference in solar energy absorption is well documented.
Hi Bob, that's a valid point, however, metal has a low thermal mass, so heat isn't absorbed into the roofing material and then transmitted into the coop as it is with asphalt roofing. In fact, the Florida Solar Energy Center states that metal roofing absorbs about 34 percent less heat than asphalt shingles. The painted metal roofs we use are even more energy efficient that plain metal roofing. (yes, even black roofing!) These roofs not only reflect solar energy, but also re-emit most of the solar energy that the coop absorbs. It's called the SRI (solar reflectance index). Thank you for bringing up this issue, it gives us an opportunity to show people why we choose what we use.
Actually our coops start at $1750, with our most popular American Coop starting at $2850. Our coops are made to last and we feel are worth the investment. Thanks for watching.

what do the ducks do to the deep litter system?
muonwap they bring in too much moisture. The inside of the coop needs to be pretty dry in order for the deep little method to work well. :)
