The Ed Sullivan Show was a television variety program that aired on CBS from 1948-1971. For 23 years it aired every Sunday night and played host to the world's greatest talents. The Ed Sullivan Show is well known for bringing rock n' roll music to the forefront of American culture through acts like Elvis Presley, The Beatles, and The Rolling Stones. The entertainers each week ranged from comedians like Joan Rivers and Rodney Dangerfield, to Broadway stars Julie Andrews and Richard Burton, to pop singers such as Bobby Darin and Petula Clark. It also frequently featured stars of Motown such as The Supremes, The Temptations, Stevie Wonder and The Jackson 5. The Ed Sullivan Show was one of the only places on American television where such a wide variety of popular culture was showcased and its legacy lives on to this day.

I fell in love with Elvis when I was 15. I’m 81 now!
Nice, He’s passing away was really painful honestly but he’s legacy will continue to live forever, I can tell you’re a big fan just like me, Do you mind if we share more about Good singers of our days ??
Long live!!!
@The Richest Man In Babylon And Elvis sure loved teenage girls... grooming and drugging them...13 and 14 year-olds mostly.
81 and on UA-cam...cool
@@Chris-bs4qy Hello Chris. Thank you for your very nice reply. You should see some of the replies I received. Not good.
There will never be anybody cooler than Elvis Presley!
Not even the Fonz lol
Sister Rosetta Tharpe

Buddy Holly but it's my opinion. But yes Elvis was excellent
When he goes "mmmmm" my heart still skips a beat. And he was already dead when I was born. My grandpa is a huge Elvis fan and he passed that onto me for sure! I would have been screaming right along with those girls! 🤣
Same here!!! 🙌 I was born sadly 9 years after he passed. I will say if he was still alive today, he would still have women of all ages screaming for him lol
Me too! I was born in 99. My mom loves him and has me obsessed and I have a cat named Elvis too lol
Exactly what I just got done saying!! 😆
Simply the best there ever was and is...
If only we were lucky enough to see him live still or ever.
I love the way that Elvis tries to not laugh when the crowd screams. Simply the best Entertainer of the twentieth century !
Hello there Brenda, how are you doing??
Ehhh debatable but he was great

Elvis has got to be one of the most charismatic performers ever. How can you not love him?
No auto tune...No social media...Just pure talent..The king.. always and forever..👑♥️🔥😍
I fully agree!!! Real talent!!
Yeah, just amphetamines, tranquilizers, booze, and an early death.

Imagine Elvis in today's world with social media.... he broke records then, but imagine what he could've done now!

What I liked about Elvis the most was that although people called him the king , Elvis ALWAYS acknowledged JESUS alone held that title . Elvis had to have had a walk with God to know the truth of that statement.
Hello there Joan, how are you doing?m
Yeah he’s passing away was really painful honestly but he’s legacy will continue to live forever, I can tell you’re a big fan just like me, Do you mind if we share more about Great musicians of our days ??
"Elvis Presley was my biggest influence. He's the greatest singer who ever lived." ---
Michael Jackson
Well yet he married his daughter...how coincidental is that😱😱😱💫
When did he say this
Rip Elvis, Today makes 46 years that you left us to be heaven, with Jesus,it feels like it was yesterday. You're loved always. 😢😇☝❤💯🇵🇷🇺🇲🙏
When the Good Lord created charisma, he loaded Elvis up with it...
He was magic, pure lightning in a bottle. Such a heartthrob, now and forever ❤
Hello Tianna, how are you doing today??
Lightning in a bottle is such a perfect way to describe him. He has that awesome down home accent, those classic good looks, a fantastic voice, he was a great dancer, a great guitar player, not afraid to take risks, and still a gentleman. You're lucky to find guys now with any one of those things and he had them all.
The absolute definition of COOL.
Wish the King was playing every day in America perfect
Elvis Presley is a giant in talent and humility, in millions of admirers' hearts he will always be the undisputed King of Rock and Roll, time passes and no one can take that title from him.
He took his inspiration on Jackie Wilson... it’s himself who said that. Without jackie no Elvis Presley, that’s fact
@@LARRY_HOLMES_88
There is one clip where Elvis is singing "Don't Be cruel", and he makes a point of saying "TELE-PHONE", just like Jackie Wilson used to say it.
Elvis gives a bit of a smirk after he does that. . . like it was a bit of an inside joke.
It is another black and white clip. . on the Ed Sullivan Show I think.
He was also quite inspired by the Platters back in the day.
Some of his "hiccups", and "glottal stops" were inspired by the Platters.
He loved what they would do with their voices.
@@LARRY_HOLMES_88 everybody is inspired by someone including Jackie Wilson
@Stephen Galvin great anecdote ! I didn’t know that
@Angel One im agree with you and I got respect for Elvis’s career but for me he copied Jackie’s style too much ... you can get inspiration from someone in the music, it's true that everyone has done it but he sounds exactly like jackie...
"Describe Elvis Presley? He's the best there was, there is and that will ever be." - Chuck Berry 1977
Fun Fact: Elvises songs are even still popular in the astral realm! and he continues his elustrious career with songs like "Do it up!' and "shake your guitar"
Is that an actual quote from Chuck Berry ?
@@hollywoodjoe123 absolutely. Google it under quotes on Elvis.
You have to take into consideration that Chuck Berry didn’t know who George Floyd was back then. I’m sure he’d agree if he was alive today that George Floyd was the best there ever will be

I Love that bit I keep replaying it 🥰
The way he cracks his voice at “cross my heart” makes me swoon
Listen to his speech before he start. It’s full of benevolent intent. Not like the malevolent intent of todays rock stars. Respect Elvis 🕺
Good Lord he was so so good looking 🔥
I was Four Years Old when we watched him on this Sullivan Show.
I was in love with him, told my Mom I would marry him. I had every one of 45 's . He set the bar pretty high for what a man should be for me.
Trying to imagine a world where Elvis never existed is actually depressing as hell and you can only do it for like 1.5 seconds.
I’m was so happy to be a teenager when Elvis came along, unbelievable times long live rock& roll 🎸😎

I still smile after all these years every time I see young Elvis sing and move. Just one gesture, a small move of any part of his body even his eyes or head made them swoon and he knew it.
Heck yes
Yeah, he knew he made the girls swoon and somehow was still humble. I think it was because he grew up dirt poor and knew how blessed he was to have made it big. He was a really unique and talented guy.
This guy Elvis had more CHARISMA taller than all of Manhattan....!!! From young onwards he had the audience in his hands....UNIQUE really...
64 years later and it’s still riveting to watch!! Get the 3 dvd set for all 3 Sullivan shows, it’s worth every penny!! God bless Elvis, beautiful man...

The Lord was showing off when he made Elvis Aaron Presley
Yeah, maybe the Lord was "showing off" but here's the problem. Elvis came out of the Assemblies of God church. Maybe the Lord did give him the voice and face of a Greek god but his heart was still in the church. To his dying day Elvis fought this internal war between the secular and the sacred. Only God knows which side won. I pray it was the sacred.
